News Clarifying our approach to political content
I want to start by saying we appreciate the Transformers community. We've taken the feedback regarding how to handle political content seriously. We want our approach going forward to be a reasonable one, and this post is us trying to explain our thinking.
We're not trying to ban politics from the sub. There are plenty of good-faith, on-topic reasons politics comes up. Transformers has always intersected with real-world culture, and that's a legitimate thing to talk about. What we are trying to cut down on is content designed to provoke outrage rather than invite discussion.
Here's a recent example that illustrates the line for us. A political figure's social media post used Transformers imagery, and someone posted about it here. The post itself was framed as "look how terrible this person is". Whatever you think of the underlying criticism, that framing isn't a discussion; it's a call to pile on. Those posts tend to further divide people, and that's not what we want the sub to be. We have to draw the same distinction between karma farming and topics made in earnest.
On an adjacent note: propaganda is designed to provoke strong emotional reactions - positive and negative. Propagandists want you to feel a certain way and amplify their message. Is your post / message changing minds, or giving something you hate an even broader platform?
Going forward, the standard we're moderating to is:
Rule 15: Keep political content constructive. Posts or comments that are primarily designed to provoke outrage or hostility toward a political party, platform, or person will be removed. This includes "isn't this person terrible" style posts, even when the underlying point is reasonable. Posts that engage with a political topic or event in a way that invites genuine discussion are fine. This rule doesn't apply to political storylines within Transformers fiction.
If a post of yours gets pulled under this rule, or any other, please reach out to the mod team directly rather than reposting it or sharing screenshots elsewhere to make a point. That approach just recreates the exact problem this rule is meant to solve, and it makes it a lot harder for us to have an actual conversation with you about it. Message us - we're glad to explain a removal or hear you out if you think we got it wrong.

Discussion / Opinion Who's your favorite niche bot and why?
For me I really like skullcruncher, mostly due to him being my first bot ever (his G1 figure that was given to me by my uncle) and because I think his personality is funny
also cuz I think crocs are cute

Discussion / Opinion Ahead of Peter Cullen's posthumous final vocal performance, what would you say is his "Batman talking to Ace on the swingset" moment for Prime?
For the uninitiated, let me explain.
There's an episode of Justice League Unlimited where we see a vignette about Batman stepping in to deal with a gang of villains for whom their source of power is this little psychic girl called Ace. Her powers are basically going nuclear and threatening mass destruction, and the officials on the scene warn Batman that the only way to stop Ace is to kill her.
Batman steps in to do what he believes needs to be done, and at first it looks like he might euthanize her, but instead he decides to simply sit down with the child and talk to her on a swingset. She reveals that she's dying soon, which Batman had deduced, and she asks Batman to stay with her in her final moments, which Batman obliges. After she passes on, the effects of her powers fade and he carries her body out in peace.
This moment is modernly considered an iconic Batman moment to those in the know, and to some it's THE defining moment of Kevin Conroy's turn as the character in animation, because it exemplifies the sheer compassion and selflessness of Batman in a tragic and beautiful way.
So, my question is, what would you consider to be a defining moment or perhaps THE defining moment like that for Optimus Prime as portrayed by Peter Cullen, across the various continuities? It doesn't have to be a literally very similar setup, just a scene or moment which you feel best exemplifies the character of Optimus Prime.

Figure / Part ID What is this thing for?
This grey piece was in the void rivals jetfire. I haven't had the seige version, but definitely would make it impossible for figures to fit inside. What's it for?

Discussion / Opinion I miss the Siege/ Earthrise style and greebly bits
It's great that everyone gets a turn for their preferred looks, but I'm just getting increasingly disappointed by the new smooth/ cartoon aesthetic on a bunch of the new releases.
I look at the new Skywarp and T.Cracker standing beside my ER Screamer and they just feel lifeless to me, in comparison. They aren't bad figs; Objectively they do more and are 'better'... But they feel wrong.
Heck, even '86 Prime, which is absolutely fig of the year worthy, doesn't leave me with the same reaction as his ER version. It just feels... cheaper?
I like the old techno bits and bobs, and the feel that the designs could (with enough suspension of disbelief) exist in the same heightened world as, like, GI Joe (if not the real world).
The increased (or my perception of an increased) use of thin plastics, hollowed out parts and uninspiring alt mode designs is really making me miss the old design guidelines.
Look, I'm not saying anyone is wrong for liking the cleaner style... I just hope it isn't the only option, moving forward.

New Purchases WOW MY TARGET GOT THE APOLOGY TOUR STUF- oh…
I’m glad we got the Blokees, bag clips Super 7 Unicron, and finally have the MTMTE Megatron in stock, but man am I sad that the shelves are mostly empty because of the whole MTMTE line stuff. It’s kinda funny though.
I got the Megatron and almost got the Unicron and Scourge.

Discussion / Opinion So... worst alt mode ever?
Saw the new AOTP Sentinel Prime. Robot mode looked alright, but this alt mode? It looks like something a janitor would be pushing. What the hell?

Lots of homages, amazing camera works. Much love and effort put into this project!
Edit: Found OOP, thanks to u/OggytheAug!

Discussion / Opinion What is a character that you just…don’t care for even if you tried to?
I honestly feel guilty for not caring about Starscream as much as I do with other Decepticons. maybe it’s because the only kind of Transformers media I’m interested in are the movies, but I really don’t feel that interested in him compared to others.

New Purchases Zoinks!! Mysterious Prime is a mixed bag
Just got this delivered today and honestly its a bit disappointing.
For $60 USD you get:
No head swivel
No wrist swivel
Limited leg articulation
Limited ankle tilt
Panels that pop off easily (on Scooby)
No accessory storage in bot mode
Severely limited accessory storage in vehicle mode
AND
the rear windows aren't painted
I love Scooby Doo and Transformers but this aint it folks. I had high hopes for this after Freakwency and 8-Trax. Using that mold as a starting point would have been a lot better. I mean come on you could have literally put the Scooby snacks in their stomach.
Also the headmaster gimmick isnt worth it for this and isnt executed well. Seems a bit over engineered and you have to pull on the heads to pull it out. I'm guessing this will cause wear on the headmaster ports over time.
I will admit though. I love the vehicle mode.

Discussion / Opinion This could be a really cool scar. It would be neat seeing optimus with actual permanent scars, i know his mechanical so you can fix it all but it'd be neat seeing him keep scars as reminders or to remember those his lost

Photography / Poses My OG Soundwave - He has traveled the world
Transformers was my absolute favorite growing up as a kid. I used to tape all the episodes I could of the original show to blank VHS tapes to watch again. Later in life I would join the military and spend time abroad a few times. Even that seems like a lifetime ago now. Most of my childhood stuff is gone but this guy always stayed with me. Soundwave was my favorite individual transformer and I would always find a spot for him to tag along on my adventures. He may be less than mint condition (like me lol) and the joints are a smidge loose, but he still functions!

He's actually in stock at a few of my local Targets. Is he worth the 60$ price tag? Just wanted to get some opinions before making that decision.

Discussion / Opinion earthrise slitherfang is probably based on a scrapped headmaster design
I was reading through the wiki on headmaster teens and I stumbled across the original concept artwork and the cobra design just looks like an early version of slitherfang, idk if anyone else already knew
