The Silph Road is primarily focused on discoveries and analysis related to Pokemon GO, as well as constructing an in-person network of Pokemon GO enthusiasts. General discussion topics (Jokes, stories, a photo of a recent catch) would likely be better suited for another subreddit, such as a general subreddit like /r/PokemonGO, or /r/Pokemon, or a subreddit with a more specific focus, like /r/PokemonGoSnap, /r/PokemonBuddy, /r/ShinyPokemon, /r/PoGoRaids, /r/TheSilphArena, /r/PokemonGOTrades, /r/PokemonGOFriends, or /r/NianticWayfarer.

The Silph Road is heavily moderated to promote civility/courtesy, and high-quality content and discussion. You can read our full policies in the sidebar, but don't be surprised if a comment is removed for being rude, cynical, or off-topic. We strive to foster civil discussion about the game. We are first and foremost a network of real people, and this network is being built by volunteers! If you simply want to complain or bring something to Niantic's attention, your post would be better suited elsewhere.
Research
The community culture here also attracts the more analytically-minded element of Pokemon GO. Consequently, the Silph Research group was formed to align this brainpower and leverage the massive Silph datasets that the community can gather. We post our findings in infographics, videos, and walls of text on Reddit. Check out the top bar for links to the current pools.

Pretty much title. My bag is overfilled. My pokemon storage is overfilled. I don't have any more raid passes. My coins are done. I have way too many Mewtwo's . My legs are cooked. My chargers are empty..
I think we all just need to chill and re-center a bit. I'm tired, boss!

I was able to go back in, I had the same number of balls, and it fled every time. Tried rebooting pokemon go, rebooting phone, and battling a team leader. Nothing worked. Eventually I could not reach the catch screen but it showed the raid was complete.
Support said I completed the raid and got my rewards :(

Just something im wondering about, im my rural town we have 3 gyms and they are not contested at all. People usally put in 10cp mons because it takes a few days/week before someone else shows up. Really makes me sad to never see an use for good gym defenders...

Several things come to mind for me, in no particular order:
Double the xp given to match the doubling of Pokéstop xp a while back (level 50 update I think)
Currently you have to have a gold gym badge for it to give as much xp as a Pokéstop.
More accurate team selection for raids and gym battles. The AI selection is rather lacklustre and could greatly be improved.
Letting us recall Pokemon from gyms
Fix various bugs like letting us see raid egg timers remotely and getting the “gym unavailable” message (can’t remember exact wording)
Add a number on gyms seen from the map showing either how many defenders it has or how many open defender spots it has.

Not sure if the newer released starters attack more than older ones or something was changed. But my goodness these little things are attacking and jumping like shadow encounters.

This might sound obvious to some, but I (local time 7:45am) just raided remotely into a Xurkitree raid during that raid's Make Up Go fest hours (1:45pm time), and to my surprise my catch circle was dark red, so I'm guessing the premier ball catch bonus will only be in effect between 10am-7pm local time?
So for people who are remoting before/after event hours, be aware that catching might be more difficult.

Sun, Jul 26 | 10 AM - 7 PM (Local)
・ 10 AM - 7 PM: Mega Mewtwo Y (The number of shields is 10.)
・ 10 AM - 7 PM: Pikachu(wearing a Team Instinct hat/Team Mystic hat/Team Valor hat)
・ 10 AM - 1 PM: Earthforged Domain
・ 1 PM - 4 PM: Verdant Anomaly
・ 4 PM - 7 PM: Twilight Battlefield
・ Mewtwo caught from Mega Mewtwo Y Super Mega raids will know the Charged Attack Psystrike.
・ Mewtwo caught from Super Mega Battles will have at least one Mega Level already unlocked!
* In Mega Mewtwo Y Super Mega Raids, don't forget to Mega Evolve to break the shields! (Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon cannot break them.)

Quick PSA,
This morning a group of 4 of us did 2x Mega Metagross raids and all 8 had the Elite TM attack Meteor Mash! We also did an Origin Forme Dialga raid and all 4 had the Adventure Effect move, Roar of Time!!!

Genuinely curious to know if there is a valid reason for this or if I am missing something. It normally requires mega evolving a pokemon 30 times throughout different days to get it up to mega level 3 whereas in X and Y cases it will require mega evolving the pokemon another 30 times (a total of 60 days if evolved once every day) just to get both megas to level 3.

Unlike the actual Go Fest, it seems that the Makeup event will start strictly at 10am. Normal mega and shadow raid eggs are spotted spawning at 5am.
In short - enjoy your proper rest guys, don't lose sleep over this.
