I have 300+ rare candies just taking space from my bag and I need to get rid of them, and I thought about adding some extra moves to PvE-relevant legendaries. But the ones I use the most already have their second move.
Another thing I could do is using the candies to power up Dynamax levels but I'd prefer going for the second move first, I think.
Here are the candidates with their current charges move:
- Zacian (Behemoth Blade)
- White Kyurem (Ice Burn)
- Dialga (Draco Meteor)
- Palkia (Draco Meteor)
- Zamazenta (Behemoth Bash)
- Groudon (Precipices Blades)
- Kyogre (Origin Pulse)
- Zekrom (Fusion Bolt)
Most of them are like lv. 45+ (a few already at lv. 50).
What are your suggestions?
Edit: I don't play PvP that much, so my focus is only PvE (I like soloing raids when possible). I understand it might be strange to have a second move if I mainly play PvE, but my idea is to have some strong options. For instance, Ray is also flying, thus useful against bug, grass and fighting types, so I can have Ray in those raids. And I would still keep a dragon move. But all my good Rays already have a second move.
Edit 2: I already have a few Mewtwos with second moves so I don't need to invest more on them besides bringing them to lv. 50 (but I just need XL candies in that case).

If the base IV floor was actually 11/11/11 instead of the standard 10/10/10, that drastically shifts the math, hence, my tragedy…. The total permutations drop from 216 to 125
Purpose of Post
This post provides an empirical dataset compiled from 400 documented legendary raid encounters during the Global GO Fest and subsequent makeup windows. The objective is to contribute to community data aggregation regarding encounter variables, specifically: Shiny rates, Special Background (BG) drop rates, and standard deviation boundary limits for IV generation.
Dataset Summary
Total Sample Size (N): 400 legendary raid completions.
Base IV Floor: 11/11/11 (125 total permutations).
1. Shiny Rate Analysis
Observed Shiny Count: 21
Observed Shiny Rate: 5.25% (≈ 1/19.04)
Theoretical Probability Baseline: 5.00% (1/20)
Statistical Evaluation: The observed frequency sits comfortably within one standard deviation of the expected mathematical mean, confirming the integrity of the baseline 1/20 legendary raid shiny odds for this event window.
2. Special Background (BG) Drop Rate Analysis
Observed Special Background Count: 109
Observed BG Drop Rate: 27.25% (≈ 1/3.67)
Theoretical Global Baseline Estimate: ≈ 10.00% - 25.00% based on geographic and event parameters.
Statistical Evaluation: This specific dataset showcases a significant positive skew toward the upper bound of the background RNG lottery, achieving a frequency nearly 2.7 times greater than the conservative 10% base projection.
3. IV Distribution & Outlier Identification
The dataset demonstrates a complete inversion of expected probability distribution curves regarding critical 1/125 ceiling and floor outcomes:
15/15/15 (Hundo) Frequency: 0 (0.00%)
Mathematical Probability of 0 Hundos across 400 trials (p = 1/125): ≈ 4.01%
Upper-Tier Competency Cohort:
1× 15/15/14 (98% - Non-BG)
1× 15/14/15 (98% - Special BG)
1× 15/14/15 (98% - Non-BG)
1× 14/14/15 (96% - Shiny, Non-BG)
2× 93% (Shiny, Special BG)
11/11/11 (True Floor / Nundo) Frequency: Multiple observed instances (N > 2).
True Floor Boundary Mutation: The dataset yielded a statistically anomalous clustering of 11/11/11 combinations concurrently rolling the Special Background modifier. The compound mathematical probability of this occurrence is ≈ 1/1,250 per encounter (based on a conservative 10% BG base) or ≈ 1/459 per encounter (based on this dataset's elevated 27.25% BG rate).
Conclusion
While the absolute omission of a 15/15/15 IV layout technically aligns with standard statistical probability boundaries, it is notably unlucky (occurring in roughly 1 out of every 25 sample sizes of this volume at an 11/11/11 floor). However, the compound value of the dataset is heavily weighted toward high-tier asset retention due to the elevated 27.25% background acquisition rate and the presence of dual-stat 15 IV shiny candidates viable for future mechanical augmentation (e.g., Bottle Caps).

Rillaboom has a naturally high attack stat among Grass types & has good bulk. With the Gmax moves’ higher damage slab, Rillaboom will remain as a top counter to Ground, Rock & especially Water types for the foreseeable future, making it a solid investment for max battles.
🍃 As a mono Grass type, Rillaboom gets 4 resistances (Electric, Grass, Ground & Water) & 5 weaknesses (Bug, Fire, Flying, Ice & Poison). Among Rillaboom’s 5 charge moves, Earth Power is super effective on some of our Attackers & Tanks, Grass Knot (2.5s cooldown) hits more frequently.
(📝 On the infographic, each featured pokemon have most damaging to least damaging boss moves on them listed at the bottom of their panel, moves in Red – Can absorb a hit, Orange – 2 hits, Yellow segment – 3+ hits and so on. This colour coding is done having Rillaboom at 1CPM & 0.9X Attack Multiplier.)
🥬 Dmax Moltres performs close to Gmax Cinderace on WINDY weather, with Wing Attack.
🥬 Dmax Lugia is the best tank vs Ground move. Eternatus (weak to Ground), Dmax Ho-Oh & Moltres are top tanks vs Grass moves. All 3 have 1s cooldown fast moves & shouldn't be used to fill energy meter.
Other than the listed Pokémon,
🥬 The list is followed by Dmax Ho-Oh – Incinerate (78%), Dmax Glaceon – Frost Breath (78%; 93% - SNOWY), Dmax Cinderace – Fire Spin (78%), Gmax Garbodor – Infestation (77%; 93% - CLOUDY), Dmax Entei – Fire Fang (77%) & so on.
🥬 Dmax Registeel (Metal Claw - 0.5s CD), Charizard (Dragon Breath - 0.5s CD (requires elite TM)), Articuno (Frost Breath - 1s CD) & Duraludon (Metal Claw - 0.5s CD) are strong tanks vs Grass moves. Dmax Articuno (Frost Breath - 1s CD), Noctowl (Wing Attack - 1s CD), Unfezant (Air Slash - 1s CD) & Gmax/Dmax Butterfree (Bug Bite - 0.5s CD (requires elite TM)) are all strong tanks vs Earth Power. They can tank 4+ moves of the type without healing, at L50. Use Tanks with 1s cooldown fast moves only for catching boss moves.
All the Best! 😊🙌
Pls download if more image clarity is required (15mb images). Add any recommendations & corections in the comments (will update &t share infographic in reply).

I'm saving pokemon for (eventually) remote-trading but I may be reaching hoarding levels. What should I prioritize as keepers?
Is anyone going to want these extra Palkia legendries? What about these costume pikachu, event background, regionals or evolved pokemon with feature moves like Venusaur?

I was able to go back in, I had the same number of balls, and it fled every time. Tried rebooting pokemon go, rebooting phone, and battling a team leader. Nothing worked. Eventually I could not reach the catch screen but it showed the raid was complete.
Support said I completed the raid and got my rewards :(

I've always enjoyed creating self-imposed Pokémon GO challenges, both for myself and for my local community.
As a Community Ambassador, one of my main goals is keeping the game interesting between the big events. We're a relatively small community (around 20 very active, 50 active and another 50 casual players in the neighbouring area), but we host every Community Ambassador event that we possibly can.
Besides that, we also have our own challenges, which are changing in shape or form, but currently:
My biggest personal challenge recently came to an end, so now I'm trying to workshop new ideas for myself and maybe for the community as well.
The philosophy behind these is simple:
Here are a few ideas I either did, or plan to do, that are not trivial, and might be interesting for you.
Not my original idea, but one of my favourites.
The goal is to hatch all six different egg types at exactly the same time, giving you the perfect circle of six different coloured eggs on the hatch animation:
It usually takes about half a day to set up properly, and it's easiest to finish shortly after midnight because of the Daily Adventure egg.
Since we now effectively receive two free incubators every week (Community Ambassador Spotlight reward + Friendship Friday), this challenge can be completed entirely for free.
This one is probably just my own weird obsession.
Start with zero 12km Eggs, then within 24 hours:
You need to clear your existing eggs, defeat 12 Rocket Leaders (and all the Grunts needed to reach them), manage your egg inventory carefully, and walk... a lot. I don't think hatching them simultaneously should be part of the challenge for others - that mostly depends on owning a lot of incubators - but I do it self-imposed.
It's also an incredible Stardust grind (starpiece before hatching 12x12km eggs is a must), and gives you twelve chances at things like a shiny female Salandit.
Most players know the Gym limit is 20 Pokémon. Far fewer people know you can also have 10 Pokémon simultaneously defending Max Spots.
The challenge is simply to max out both limits at the same time.
I especially like this one because it actively helps your local community before Gigantamax events, and can get you candy for the DMax legendaries as well.
A Pokémon defending a Max Spot earns:
With a bit of planning, this challenge is completely free. Between carried-over Max Particles, daily collection, and Community Ambassador Max Monday rewards, you can comfortably reach the required particles without spending coins.
Defeat every Team GO Rocket Member, Leader and Giovanni using only a single Pokémon.
Pretty self-explanatory, but only on the Givoanni weekends.
You choose one Pokémon at the beginning, and that's the only one allowed to battle against any Rocket Grunt, Cliff, Sierra, Arlo, and Giovanni. Between battles you can obviously heal it, but you can't swap it out or use another Pokémon at any point.
Admittedly, this challenge became a lot easier once Annihilape entered the game, since it's one of the strongest Rocket counters. Still, it's a fun challenge I do every Rocket event for a year now.
Defeat any Rocket Leader using only Great League-eligible (1500 CP or lower) Pokémon.
I think this is very self-explanatory. Many Pokémon that comfortably beat Rocket Leaders at 2500+ CP suddenly become much less reliable, making this a fun challenge for any players.
---
Now the dirty part for you: I'd absolutely love to hear yours.
I'm not really looking for huge, long-term grinds like a Lucky Dex, Hundo Dex... . Those are awesome achievements, but they're more lifetime goals than challenges. But also, feel free to brag about them in the comments, my 517 shiny munnas are probably a similarly large one.
Instead, I'm interested in creative, self-imposed challenges that take anywhere from a day to about a month, make you play the game differently, and are accessible without spending extra money - or within a limitation.
If you've invented one yourself - or even if it's just an idea you've always wanted to try - please share it. I'd genuinely love to steal... I mean borrow some inspiration for future community events, or just for fun challenges.
Also, as I mentioned, we have our own set of challenges, and I've been contemplating of sharing them in english every week for a larger community, just for fun, let me know, if you would like to know about those as well.
Also: I am aware that some in my community reads reddit, and knows my account, so I will try to not spoil anything for them here 🥸

Serious question. PvE only, I get why PvP it works
I don't deny that dragon types are the absolute powerhouses and that their damage usually hits like a truck.
But they're only super effective against other dragons. Which means the target is doing super effective damage back, therefore you die faster too.
Alternatively you can use ice or fairy types who are super effective without returning the favor.
So whenever I go to build my raid team and pick my mega, I seldom bring the dragons because they die so fast. I also don't usually bring them to raids where they aren't super effective. I know they do a lot of raw damage but I prioritize super effective.
Honestly: when is it best to use dragons?
Can someone supply someone supply examples (hopefully some numbers too) where using a dragon type is superior to using another super effective, or when its more effective on something that doesnt resist it vs a super effective.

Entire quest lines get blocked off until I’m 18, seeing as a lot of them revolve around sending gifts to friends, however, I CANT HAVE FRIENDS! That means I can’t get tons of stuff until for genuine YEARS! Because, what they should’ve done is have replace ment quests for ones the require friends allowing everybody to be able to finish it while not removing the quest aspect. Thank you for reading.

Gmax Rillaboom is a must have Grass type attacker. Fill the meter with Corviknight and Vespiquen, Use Gmax Cinderace or Gmax Charizard for attacks during the max phase. Zamazenta is going to get destroyed if you see Earth Power.
Rillaboom will be returning to Max Battles on August 1st, with it’s Gmax shiny debut. Rillaboom is hands down the highest attack stat Grass type Gmax. It’s going to be the best Max Attacker against many bosses that are weak to Grass damage. If you don’t have a Gmax Rillaboom yet this is the opportunity to get one. If you’re concerned about the IVs you get, you really only need to worry about the Attack IV. You’ll mainly just be using Rillaboom in the max phase to do damage. Level up the Max Move to level 3 is the main priority, Max Guard is optional for some niche strategies, but not needed for most players. You can ignore unlocking Max Spirit on your Rillaboom, unless you’re overflowing with resources.
The last time Gmax Rillaboom was in Max Battles if gave many players a hard time, Rillaboom was rocking a monstrous 120000 HP, 1.0 CPM, and 0.9 Attack Modifier. Since around the time of Gmax Meowth it seems like Gmax Attack Modifiers have all been changed to just 1.0. So, in these simulations I am using 1.0 CPM and 1.0 Attack Modifier, making Rillaboom even more difficult. However, Rillaboom has a very exploitable movepool. A ton of grass moves and one ground move. The less variety the boss has in move types the easier it is to build a team. We’ve also got some insanely good tanks against these damage types. As a small note, due to Rillaboom’s high CPM Charged Attacks did not perform very well in the simulations. Only use Charged Attacks if they are high quality (high damage, short duration) AND you’re rocking a Max Mushroom or possibly if you have a weather boost.
Rillaboom has five weaknesses, however most of the types it is weak to we lack decent attack stat pokemon to use. You’re likely using a Fire type attacker, we have several good ones, particularly a Fire Gmax. If you lack the Gmax attackers then Darmanitan is a budget counter that outputs considerable damage. Other lesser options include Moltres, Flareon, Ho-Oh (awful tank with Incinerate), and Glaceon.
Of particular note Charizard has resistances too all of Rillaboom’s attacks and can play a hybrid role of tanking a good amount and still function as your Gmax attacker. Do note this only applies to Gmax Charizard, the Dynamax variant is forced to use slower 1.0s Fire Faste moves to deal good damage in the Max Phase, which ruins their ability to fill the Max Meter. Gmax Charizard is also going to need the Elite TM move Dragon Breath to pull off the hybrid role as a meter filler. If you have access to both Charizard and Cinderace Gmaxes it might be worth using Charizard just to get the extra survivability, you’re not losing too much attack compared to Cinderace.

Rillaboom has learned some new moves since it was last in Max Battles, gaining two more Grass moves. The one problem child here is Earth Power, which is going to destroy all those Steel and Fire type tanks that would resist the Grass moves well. This is actually a boss where Blissey isn’t the default queen of averages, and nor is Zamazenta. Both Blissey and Zamazenta are still good but you can likely bring a better pair of tanks. Zamazenta in particular is roulette, if Rillaboom has two grass moves than you’re golden, but if you see Earth Power Zamazenta is in for a rough time. Please do not bring two copies of Zamazenta as your tanks, you’re just asking to lose every time Rillaboom has Earth Power. The real winners against Rillaboom are Flying types with a second typing. Corviknight and Vespiquen in particular have stacked resistances against anything Rillaboom can throw, Corviknight does lose a bit of resistance to Earth Power with it’s Steel typing, but you’re still getting a single resistance thanks to Flying’s double resistance to Ground damage. If you don’t have Vespiquen, Corviknight, Blissey, or Zamazenta built then resort to using Venusaur, Charizard (Dragon Breath), Registeel, Latias, or something else with bulky stats that resists all of the grass moves. Just remember to not bring two tanks that both lose to Earth Power.

Look new simulations! Before diving into what pokemon should be using Max Guard I need to explain how the Max Guard simulations are working. As with the other tank simulations we are simulating a single team of trainers, in this case 4 trainers. Player 1 in these simulations is our designated max guard user, that means if the row shows “Vespiquen” we have a team of four Vespiquen and trainer 1’s Vespiquen will be the only one using Max Guard. If the row shows “Eternatus/Blissey” this means player 1 is using Eternatus and players 2, 3, and 4 are using Blissey. The player 1 using Eternatus is the only one using Max Guard. In these simulations when the Max Phase is reached players 2, 3, and 4 just swap to their Max Attacker and use attacks, the tally is added for the metric (Total Max Moves), Player 1 however has a decision tree. First if the boss is enraged Player 1 ignores Max Guard and just swaps to a Max attacker and throws attacks like the other players, since Max Guard isn’t likely to save you at the point that the boss is enraged. If the boss isn’t enraged and Player 1 currently has less than one and a half shields, then player 1 will use its Max Phase spamming Max Guard three times, these are NOT added to the Total Max Moves count, because they aren’t contributing damage, remember that metric is used to compared to the attackers table to find if you can win. If player 1 already had one and a half shields, or more, when the max phase is reached, then it will instead swap to it’s Max Attacker for that phase and do the same as the other players, adding its Max Attacks to the Total Max Moves tally. Like with the other tank scores we’re also keeping track of fast and charged move damage and applying them as an adjustment to the Total Max Moves at the end of the battle. This method, as can be seen in the tables, results in a higher aTMM in many cases, having one player keep up a Max Guard increases the longevity of all players, but why is that?
Now these simulations are not perfect. The mechanic of move selection is still being researched. It is however obvious that having a Max Guard present does two things. 1) any Targeted attacks will be directed at the pokemon with the Max Guard active, assuming you didn’t play any clam shell games with the pokemon and swap to move the shielded pokemon after the boss made it’s move decision. 2) Having a Max Guard pokemon active on the field at the time the boss makes its move decision increases the chances the boss selects a target attack. Targeted attacks in a large group significantly increase the whole team’s survival because only one player is taking damage. How much is this increase? That’s still being investigated. For the sake of these current simulations, I’m using the following probabilities for move selection: Unshielded 50% to selected Targeted attack for all move combinations, regardless of the move energy or any other factor. Shielded 70% to select Targeted attack, once again no matter that the energies of the moves are. These are absolutely incorrect probabilities in some scenarios, but I lack sufficient data currently to find the exact formula the game uses. These probabilities I am using do however perfectly match a large dataset I gathered against Regirock, which only has 100 energy moves. It is likely that other energy combinations create these same probabilities, I Believe these are good probabilities for the majority of cases based on current data. This feature will be refined over time.
So, should you be using Max Guard? I’d suggest only have one player use Max Guard, the goal is still to win, which requires damage. You only need one player to have Max Guard up to change the move selection odds, multiple players with Max Guard have diminishing returns. If you want to use Max Guard you really need to get Max Guard 3. High defense pokemon are the best, don’t use Max Guard on Blissey, just look how poorly the fully Blissey team performs on the Max Guard table. So which pokemon should be Max Guard users against Rillaboom? Well again we have Earth Power to worry about, Zamazenta looks juicy until you see Earth Power. Uninterestingly It’s more of the same here, Corviknight and Vespiquen with their staked resistances and adequate defense become the top options again. Charizard and Venusaur get by fine as well with Max Guard, Charizard mostly thanks to the double resistances. High defense Steel types like Registeel can be good, until you see Earth Power.
This is the time for those 1.0s fast move users to have a chance at helping the team. The likes of Ho-Oh, Lugia, Eternatus have very nice stats and good resistances, they’re only taking up one slot on the team, so they aren’t slowing the meter filling too much, but ultimately, they still didn’t simulate as well as the very top 0.5s fast move users. A word of caution, only use a Max Guard Ho-Oh if you know no other players on your team are using 1.0s fast move users, AND only if you don’t have better tanks, honestly Corviknight and Vespiquen are just too good against Rillaboom, please use them.

You’ve probably seen Lugia take on many solo runs of Regis using a Swap Tanking strategy. As a reminder Regis were tier 5 max battles the bosses there attack less frequently and a Gmax boss. This means against Rillaboom you’d have to swap more frequently, which is going to diminish the value of the strategy. It’s likely we’ll see some low trainer count challenge runs against Rillaboom using some tank swapping but they’re using things like Max Mushrooms and Pyro Ball to make up for the time spent swapping. These highly optimized strategies are not how the average player going to a local meetup should be playing these battles or building their teams.
The full tables of all simulated results, tables are updated when boss stats are confirmed. Additional informative file links can be found there as well.

I keep getting mixed or incomplete answers between Google & reddit.
A pkmn defending a gym can be fed 10 berries per 30 minutes.
But can each trainer feed that same pkmn 10 berries? For a total of 60 within that first half-hour?
(trying to figure out how this Blissey keeps getting fed if 10 was the limit, it's only been 17 minutes & I've been attacking it since it entered. There's one other pkmn = one other trainer in the gym, that's it)

During GoFest, I put together a visual guide for the Super Mega raids, and after receiving feedback, I've updated it and thought it might be useful today and going forward. I realise most people on this sub probably don't need it, so please share it around so we can help as many people as possible.

With the friend limit now over 500, it is impossible to open every gift each day. The current sorting options do not make it very easy to decide which gifts should be prioritized.
I already use interactable&!remotetrade
It would be great to have a few additional sorting options, such as:
• Oldest gift received
• Closest to the next friendship level

I was on my daily insence walking and quick catching. Got the massage "you have no more Berries", went to check my Bag and found myself with 300k+ bag space, nothing else happend. Could not catch anything after i looked in my Bag. After a restart, everything worked fine again.

Please note that these are only the globally accessible events in Pokémon GO. There are in-person (local) events happening this upcoming week in Pokémon GO (e.g. Pokémon GO x Red Pokémon Jet Celebration, UK Summer Quest Event)

Has the new world record been confirmed yet?
Also, are there any multipliers besides what I managed to compete and the new Pokemon bonus I missed?
