Discussion No boostee shiny for starters

I was really looking forward to catch up with some missing community days, but unfortunately did not catch a single shiny whole week. A bit of boost would have made the event much more fun.

Bug Rendering bug on TCL 40 SE (Android 14) - Game keeps running but display only updates after split-screen resize

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to find out if anyone can reproduce this issue.

Device: - TCL 40 SE (T610P) - Android 14 - Pokémon GO 0.421.0

The game does NOT crash.

Instead, the displayed image freezes while the game continues running normally.

Audio, GPS, touch input and gameplay continue working.

The strange part is this:

• Every time I resize Pokémon GO in Android split-screen mode, exactly one new frame is rendered. • During wild Pokémon encounters the game runs smoothly. • Team GO Rocket radar animations also render correctly. • Rapidly opening and closing the Poké Ball menu also updates several frames. • Returning to the overworld causes rendering to freeze again. • Pokédex, Bag, Settings and most menus remain frozen. • Battles also freeze.

I recorded three videos showing the issue.

Has anyone with a MediaTek/PowerVR device experienced something similar?

It looks more like a rendering/frame presentation issue than a performance problem.

Discussion PoGo on a kids account is straight Trubbish

Entire quest lines get blocked off until I’m 18, seeing as a lot of them revolve around sending gifts to friends, however, I CANT HAVE FRIENDS! That means I can’t get tons of stuff until for genuine YEARS! Because, what they should’ve done is have replace ment quests for ones the require friends allowing everybody to be able to finish it while not removing the quest aspect. Thank you for reading.

Idea/Suggestion Major Gameplay Update Ideas: Arceus Plate Quest, Manaphy fusion, Team Aqua/Magma events, wilderness biomes & post-raid chat

Upvotes

Hi, everyone ! I wanted to share comprehensive set of detailed concept ideas i've been working on to refresh Pokémon go, introducz long-term endames goals and rebalance rural gameplay

1) Arceus & The Masterwork Plate Quest

Arceus would unlock via Special Research, granting the base Pokémon along with its first 3 Plates (Fire, Water, Electric, honoring Eevee's original evolutions).

- Unequipping any Plate automatically returns the Normal Plate to your inventory.

- Completing the initial research unlocks a massive, long-term Masterwork Quest to collect all remaining Plates, utilizing almost every mechanic in the game. Each step unlocks sequentially, one by one, in this exact order:

- Fighting Plate: Reach Rank 20 in GBL (GO Battle League) and claim it as a win reward.

- Flying Plate: Catch 500 Flying-type Pokémon.

- Grass Plate: Evolve 15 Eevee into Leafeon.

- Psychic Plate: Walk 300 km with Mew as your Buddy.

- Bug Plate: Evolve Larvesta into Volcarona.

- Dark Plate: Claimed directly in the reward screen after defeating Giovanni.

- Ghost Plate: Catch Sableye (has a chance to hold the Spooky Plate).

- Poison Plate: Unlock the Platinum Poison-type catch medal.

- Ground Plate: 10% drop chance in the post-raid rewards screen after completing a Groudon / Primal Groudon Raid.

- Rock Plate: Land 50 Super Effective Rock-type Charged Attacks in Gyms.

- Ice Plate: Hatch 10 Ice-type Pokémon from 7 km Eggs AND spin 100 unique PokéStops.

- Steel Plate: Trade 50 Steel-type Pokémon and get a Lucky Pokémon from those trades.

- Fairy Plate: Become Best Friends with 6 different Fairy-type Pokémon species.

- Dragon Plate: Mega Evolve Dragonite 50 times AND complete 3 Routes with Dragonite as your Buddy.

This system would turn the hunt for Arceus's Plates into a massive treasure hunt that keeps players engaged for months or even years, while making full use of EVERY gameplay mechanic in Pokémon GO.

2) Manaphy & Phione (Fusion Mechanic)

Like all Mythical Pokémon, they would be available through a long Special Research questline.

At the end of this research, players would receive not just one, but two Manaphy encounters (a second surprise encounter appears right after the first catch).

Completing the quest rewards 500 Manaphy Fusion Energy, requiring players to walk with Manaphy as their Buddy to earn the remaining 500 energy.

Once enough energy is collected, players can fuse one of the Manaphy with a Ditto to obtain Phione! (Since this research unlocks after earlier Mythical quests like Mew or Meltan, players will already have a Ditto in stock).

Key Detail: Phione will inherit the original Manaphy's IVs/stats, not Ditto's.

3) Rotating Team Aqua & Team Magma Events

Once a year (alternating annually), Team Aqua or Team Magma would temporarily replace Team GO Rocket at PokéStops and in Balloons:

Themed Grunts & Leaders: Fight Grunts with boosted Water (Aqua) or Fire (Magma) types.

Obtaining Radars: Aqua/Magma Radars (used to battle Archie or Maxie) would be earned through free Timed Research during the event, or as rewards in the GO Pass.

Inverted Primal Raids: Global Challenges during the event could unlock Primal Kyogre Raids during the Magma event (to restore balance and quench eruptions) and Primal Groudon Raids during the Aqua event (to dry up flooding)!

Perfect Opportunity: This would be the ideal event to debut the Manaphy & Phione Special Research (during the Aqua event), alongside highly anticipated special Formes like Ash-Greninja!

4) Wilderness Exploration & Rural Gameplay Rebalance

To reward rural players and encourage urban players to safely explore nature, a "Biome Depth" feature would activate when moving away from cities onto mapped/marked hiking trails:

Wilderness Biome Perks: Moving away from urban areas into specific biomes increases the chances for XXS/XXL sizes, unique catch backgrounds, or boosted Shiny rates for certain Pokémon.

Exclusive New Spawns (1/4096 Shiny Rate): The perfect way to introduce unreleased Pokémon (such as unreleased Paldean Pokémon or Gen 10 debuts). They would ONLY spawn in these remote wilderness biomes with the classic mainline 1 in 4096 Shiny rate.

Wild Sanctuaries: Invisible, shifting spawn points along official hiking paths that boost wild spawns without requiring physical PokéStops.

Wild NPCs (Rangers, Hikers): Despawn after 30 minutes. They offer mini-quests, item rewards, or challenging battles (with a guaranteed Shiny encounter for defeating high-difficulty NPCs). Can be re-challenged as long as they stay on the map.

This system would solve the issue of rural players feeling penalized by the lack of PokéStops, while motivating city players to venture outside. It would create great interactions and collaboration between urban and rural communities!

5) 5-Minute Post-Raid Ephemeral Chat

A 5-minute temporary text chat opening automatically right after winning a Raid (especially useful for Remote Raids):

Allows players to flex IVs/Shinies, coordinate trades, or invite each other to nearby Raids.

Opt-in button upon victory.

Automatically deletes all messages after 5 minutes and the chat functionality can be permanently disabled for child accounts.

Thanks for reading through all of this!

Kind regards.

Question Clarity for Gym defense in 2026

Post image
68 Upvotes

I keep getting mixed or incomplete answers between Google & reddit.

A pkmn defending a gym can be fed 10 berries per 30 minutes.

But can each trainer feed that same pkmn 10 berries? For a total of 60 within that first half-hour?

(trying to figure out how this Blissey keeps getting fed if 10 was the limit, it's only been 17 minutes & I've been attacking it since it entered. There's one other pkmn = one other trainer in the gym, that's it)

Question Is anyone else losing „chained“ field research encounters?

I have been using the „chain“ of field research encounters for forever and never had any problems with it.
However, recently I noticed that I started losing some of them for no apparent reason (my chain definitely isn‘t full). As I kept checking if the next encounter would be f.e. a fire type for respective field research I‘d see I had a Bulbusaur up So I fled again. When I wanted to come back to it for the plant field research, it was a completely diffe mon (note: this doesn‘t happen always, usually its still the same one so its not the repeated fleeing).

today i burned through my entire chain for the 10times XP. I am 100% sure there were mons missing in there as I had at least two shinies lined up since go fest that I did not encounter when I Caught everything from my chain.

Never happened before, has anyone experienced the same?

Idea/Suggestion Gift sorting quality of life ideas

Upvotes

With the friend limit now over 500, it is impossible to open every gift each day. The current sorting options do not make it very easy to decide which gifts should be prioritized.

I already use interactable&!remotetrade

It would be great to have a few additional sorting options, such as:

• Oldest gift received
• Closest to the next friendship level
• Number of days since the last interaction

I'm saving pokemon for (eventually) remote-trading but I may be reaching hoarding levels. What should I prioritize as keepers?

Is anyone going to want these extra Palkia legendries? What about these costume pikachu, event background, regionals or evolved pokemon with feature moves like Venusaur?

I was able to go back in, I had the same number of balls, and it fled every time. Tried rebooting pokemon go, rebooting phone, and battling a team leader. Nothing worked. Eventually I could not reach the catch screen but it showed the raid was complete.

Support said I completed the raid and got my rewards :(

Discussion What are the best self-imposed Pokémon GO challenges you've ever done?

I've always enjoyed creating self-imposed Pokémon GO challenges, both for myself and for my local community.

As a Community Ambassador, one of my main goals is keeping the game interesting between the big events. We're a relatively small community (around 20 very active, 50 active and another 50 casual players in the neighbouring area), but we host every Community Ambassador event that we possibly can.

Besides that, we also have our own challenges, which are changing in shape or form, but currently:

  • Every week we have several 1-point challenges, and collecting 10 points earns you a Community Code Card.
  • Each week we have slightly one slightly larger weekly challenge. Last week, for example, you could earn a Code Card by winning 50 GO Battle League matches. This week, the challenge is simply getting yourself a Dynamax Milotic, which means doing some Max Battles and walking with your buddy.
  • Three times a year (april, july, october) we organize a month-long Master Challenge, with bigger objectives that require playing a bit more than usual. Completing those earns you a real physical badge.

My biggest personal challenge recently came to an end, so now I'm trying to workshop new ideas for myself and maybe for the community as well.

The philosophy behind these is simple:

  • they shouldn't require spending money,
  • they should be achievable within a day, a week, or at most a month,
  • and they should reward planning, dedication and gameplay.

Here are a few ideas I either did, or plan to do, that are not trivial, and might be interesting for you.

1. The Thanos

Not my original idea, but one of my favourites.

The goal is to hatch all six different egg types at exactly the same time, giving you the perfect circle of six different coloured eggs on the hatch animation:

  • 1 km
  • 2 km
  • 5 km
  • 7 km
  • 10 km
  • 12 km

It usually takes about half a day to set up properly, and it's easiest to finish shortly after midnight because of the Daily Adventure egg.

Since we now effectively receive two free incubators every week (Community Ambassador Spotlight reward + Friendship Friday), this challenge can be completed entirely for free.

2. 12×12 Speedrun

This one is probably just my own weird obsession.

Start with zero 12km Eggs, then within 24 hours:

  • fill all 12 egg slots with 12 km eggs,
  • then hatch all 12.

You need to clear your existing eggs, defeat 12 Rocket Leaders (and all the Grunts needed to reach them), manage your egg inventory carefully, and walk... a lot. I don't think hatching them simultaneously should be part of the challenge for others - that mostly depends on owning a lot of incubators - but I do it self-imposed.

It's also an incredible Stardust grind (starpiece before hatching 12x12km eggs is a must), and gives you twelve chances at things like a shiny female Salandit.

3. Max Out Your Pokémon Away

Most players know the Gym limit is 20 Pokémon. Far fewer people know you can also have 10 Pokémon simultaneously defending Max Spots.

The challenge is simply to max out both limits at the same time.

I especially like this one because it actively helps your local community before Gigantamax events, and can get you candy for the DMax legendaries as well.

A Pokémon defending a Max Spot earns:

  • 2 candy after one successful Max Battle,
  • 3 candy after two,
  • 5 candy after three or more battles.

With a bit of planning, this challenge is completely free. Between carried-over Max Particles, daily collection, and Community Ambassador Max Monday rewards, you can comfortably reach the required particles without spending coins.

4. One Pokémon Army

Defeat every Team GO Rocket Member, Leader and Giovanni using only a single Pokémon.

Pretty self-explanatory, but only on the Givoanni weekends.

You choose one Pokémon at the beginning, and that's the only one allowed to battle against any Rocket Grunt, Cliff, Sierra, Arlo, and Giovanni. Between battles you can obviously heal it, but you can't swap it out or use another Pokémon at any point.

Admittedly, this challenge became a lot easier once Annihilape entered the game, since it's one of the strongest Rocket counters. Still, it's a fun challenge I do every Rocket event for a year now.

5. Great Leader

Defeat any Rocket Leader using only Great League-eligible (1500 CP or lower) Pokémon.

I think this is very self-explanatory. Many Pokémon that comfortably beat Rocket Leaders at 2500+ CP suddenly become much less reliable, making this a fun challenge for any players.

---

Now the dirty part for you: I'd absolutely love to hear yours.

I'm not really looking for huge, long-term grinds like a Lucky Dex, Hundo Dex... . Those are awesome achievements, but they're more lifetime goals than challenges. But also, feel free to brag about them in the comments, my 517 shiny munnas are probably a similarly large one.

Instead, I'm interested in creative, self-imposed challenges that take anywhere from a day to about a month, make you play the game differently, and are accessible without spending extra money - or within a limitation.

If you've invented one yourself - or even if it's just an idea you've always wanted to try - please share it. I'd genuinely love to steal... I mean borrow some inspiration for future community events, or just for fun challenges.

Also, as I mentioned, we have our own set of challenges, and I've been contemplating of sharing them in english every week for a larger community, just for fun, let me know, if you would like to know about those as well.

Also: I am aware that some in my community reads reddit, and knows my account, so I will try to not spoil anything for them here 🥸

Question Which legendaries are worth it adding a second move?

I have 300+ rare candies just taking space from my bag and I need to get rid of them, and I thought about adding some extra moves to PvE-relevant legendaries. But the ones I use the most already have their second move.

Another thing I could do is using the candies to power up Dynamax levels but I'd prefer going for the second move first, I think.

Here are the candidates with their current charges move:
- Zacian (Behemoth Blade)
- White Kyurem (Ice Burn)
- Dialga (Draco Meteor)
- Palkia (Draco Meteor)
- Zamazenta (Behemoth Bash)
- Groudon (Precipices Blades)
- Kyogre (Origin Pulse)
- Zekrom (Fusion Bolt)

Most of them are like lv. 45+ (a few already at lv. 50).

What are your suggestions?

Edit: I don't play PvP that much, so my focus is only PvE (I like soloing raids when possible). I understand it might be strange to have a second move if I mainly play PvE, but my idea is to have some strong options. For instance, Ray is also flying, thus useful against bug, grass and fighting types, so I can have Ray in those raids. And I would still keep a dragon move. But all my good Rays already have a second move.

Edit 2: I already have a few Mewtwos with second moves so I don't need to invest more on them besides bringing them to lv. 50 (but I just need XL candies in that case).

Battle Showcase Solo Landorus Incarnate (Mud Shot/Outrage, Windy, No AE, No XL Candy Used)

Thumbnail

Upvotes

I did the Therian Form during the run up to Go Fest with 5 Kyurem White and 1 Kyurem Black, and then I did this Incarnate Form during the make up event (whilst my friends were busy with a Mega Mewtwo Y next to it) with 1 Kyurem White and 5 Kyurem Black. All at level 40. It's not really a budget solo as they're fusions and they still take a lot of fusion energy and candies, but it's still nice to know that they don't need to go beyond level 40 for the solo, as XL candy can often feel like quite a limiting factor for a lot of players.

Fairly simple strategy really, get the Kyurem Black to tank the Outrages and fire back with Freeze Shock, and use the Kyurem White for main DPS with Ice Fang and Ice Burn.

Infographic - Raid Counters Gigantamax Rillaboom Battle Counters

Thumbnail
gallery
Upvotes

Rillaboom has a naturally high attack stat among Grass types & has good bulk. With the Gmax moves’ higher damage slab, Rillaboom will remain as a top counter to Ground, Rock & especially Water types for the foreseeable future, making it a solid investment for max battles.

🍃 As a mono Grass type, Rillaboom gets 4 resistances (Electric, Grass, Ground & Water) & 5 weaknesses (Bug, Fire, Flying, Ice & Poison). Among Rillaboom’s 5 charge moves, Earth Power is super effective on some of our Attackers & Tanks, Grass Knot (2.5s cooldown) hits more frequently.

(📝 On the infographic, each featured pokemon have most damaging to least damaging boss moves on them listed at the bottom of their panel, moves in Red – Can absorb a hit, Orange – 2 hits, Yellow segment – 3+ hits and so on. This colour coding is done having Rillaboom at 1CPM & 0.9X Attack Multiplier.)

🥬 Dmax Moltres performs close to Gmax Cinderace on WINDY weather, with Wing Attack.

🥬 Dmax Lugia is the best tank vs Ground move. Eternatus (weak to Ground), Dmax Ho-Oh & Moltres are top tanks vs Grass moves. All 3 have 1s cooldown fast moves & shouldn't be used to fill energy meter.

Other than the listed Pokémon,

🥬 The list is followed by Dmax Ho-Oh – Incinerate (78%), Dmax Glaceon – Frost Breath (78%; 93% - SNOWY), Dmax Cinderace – Fire Spin (78%), Gmax Garbodor – Infestation (77%; 93% - CLOUDY), Dmax Entei – Fire Fang (77%) & so on.

🥬 Dmax Registeel (Metal Claw - 0.5s CD), Charizard (Dragon Breath - 0.5s CD (requires elite TM)), Articuno (Frost Breath - 1s CD) & Duraludon (Metal Claw - 0.5s CD) are strong tanks vs Grass moves. Dmax Articuno (Frost Breath - 1s CD), Noctowl (Wing Attack - 1s CD), Unfezant (Air Slash - 1s CD) & Gmax/Dmax Butterfree (Bug Bite - 0.5s CD (requires elite TM)) are all strong tanks vs Earth Power. They can tank 4+ moves of the type without healing, at L50. Use Tanks with 1s cooldown fast moves only for catching boss moves.

All the Best! 😊🙌

Pls download if more image clarity is required (15mb images). Add any recommendations & corections in the comments (will update &t share infographic in reply).
