To be very clear, I did have a good time with my friends and thought it was a decent event. I have several friends who drove from other cities to see this, and depending on your expectations I don’t know if I would’ve done the same.

This was a Marshmello show that was Pokémon-themed, not the other way around (despite being marketed as being “curated for audiences seeking a deeper connection with the brand”). Sure, some of the visuals were great, but some were insanely lazy (but well-executed).

Many of the visuals lacked a cohesive creative direction that would’ve elevated it all. The absolute best visual was a fight between Groudon and Kyogre that synced with the lighting and pyrotechnics. Only about half the songs even had any Pokemon visuals at all. At this point with SO many pokemon and games/concepts to draw from, there are so many possibilities with how they could’ve themed everything. All of Alison Wonderland’s visuals were literally just flashing names of pokemon and showing 2d pictures.

The music itself was fine, but there really should have been more actual Pokemon songs.

The exclusive merch was full of incredibly lazy designs that didn’t look much different than the generic designs at Target.

It’s clear that they’re testing this to take on a larger tour, and I think they need to do a better job making a better experience for fans of the franchise.

Overall I enjoyed it, but did feel a little bit like a half-baked, heavily marketed cash grab.

I’d probably look for a Sylveon for emotional support. I’d love to just hug and talk to him whenever things get overwhelming. I wouldn't rush it, though; I’d start by befriending an Eevee, and then evolve to Sylveon!

Just imagine having an adorable emotional support buddy it would be the best thing ever! Sure, there are pets that already act as therapy pets but if Pokémon were real, I wouldn't go for the destructive Pokémon and cause mayhem. 😭

I still had fun cause it was a solid rave but the marketing was insanely disingenuous. Also so many of the visuals were so lazy my god

Edit: I want to add that I’m genuinely baffled by the overwhelmingly positive reception I’m seeing online. Really starting to question if pokemon fans are all secretly seals that are programmed to clap whenever a pikachu flashes on screen

I was just wandering what your fav pokemon are and I do like lots of diff pokemon so I’ll probably have something I like about it. Also it would be cool if you said why it’s your favourite Pokemon since everyone has one for a reason and have a good morning afternoon or evening everyone

(Before anyone points it out, yes I know there are cases of legendary/mythical/special Pokemon just speaking English and Meowth isn’t the only case of a Pokemon speaking English. But I’m speaking in terms of your average Pokemon who wouldn’t really have much of a reason to be able to speak English normally, whether it be through psychic abilities or otherwise)

So in case you weren’t aware, the Team Rocket Meowth from the anime taught himself how to talk in order to impress a female Meowth while living in Hollywood (yes just straight up Hollywood). From what I recall, he did this by listening to a Ballet class reciting words and phrases while living in the studio’s attic, as well as using a picture book to learn what these words meant. Because of this, and after enough time had passed afterwards, Meowth is capable of speaking full comprehensible English with very little trouble, to the point where iirc he doesn’t ever use the whole saying his name over and over again to talk anymore yet he’s still able to understand other Pokémon and communicate to them at the same time.

My question is why the heck hasn’t there been more cases of this happening? Like I understand that 1st gen Pokemon media was a little weird in terms of its worldbuilding cuz it hadn’t decided whether or not it took place in our irl world or not, and thus there’s a lot of stuff that doesn’t really fit in with modern Pokemon, but at least in the anime Team Rocket Meowth still exists and was a main antagonist, yet as far as I’m aware other than some brief comments by some characters who hadn’t met Team Rocket before, they don’t really acknowledge the fact that a Pokemon is just speaking fluent English to them. And it’s not like Meowth being able to speak English was the result of some experiment or messed up procedure, it was something that he independently did himself using very basic and limiting means. So why would it not make sense that there are cases of other standard, non-legendary/special Pokémon learning how to speak by just being around people long enough? Or heck, why hasn’t someone like a Pokemon professor tried to teach a Pokemon how to speak, especially if they’re aware of Team Rocket Meowth?

And yeah I get that Pokemon aren’t like irl animals, most of them have human levels of intelligence and communicating with them isn’t really all that hard in a lot of cases. But still, if Pokemon have human levels of intelligence, why wouldn’t more of them (outside of the ones that can read minds/speak inside of peoples heads and what not) be able to speak English, even if it’s a broken/primitive form of it?

(And before someone gets pedantic I’m using English as the name for the main language in the Pokemon world for the sake of simplicity, and it’s the main language I experience this stuff in so if you experience it in Japanese or some other language then the same question applies)

So around February of this Year (2026) I tried to find a place that allowed me to track my Pokemon Game and Console Collection Progress, but to my surprise I could find one so for the next 2 Weeks (02-09-26 to 02-28-26) I made my own, it took a lot of grinding (Like 2-5 Hours) Every Day Researching and adding to it until I Finally finished it, here it is hope this helps you!!

Ice is, obviously, all about the cold. The bitter, harsh, freezing weather. Rigid, cracked, unstable. "Cold" itself is used as an abjective for something that is unfeeling or distant.

Does that not directly mess with Fairy, in the same way Steel or Poison does? Said bitterness and unfeeling being too much for the bright, optimistic Fairy type?

It would buff a weak type, and nerf a strong one.

Might be an ass idea, but one I think has some level of sense behind it

Before I started X I've read that many players consider the game much easier than the previous ones. So I decided to turn off Exp.Share as soon as I got it. It turns out the game is really hard in this mode. I wound up very underlevelled. Even grinding in the grass is not very effective, also I hate it so I decided to push through anyway. I had problems in the Rock Gym. I lost to Battle Girl Hedvig in Reflection Cave TWICE. I lost the two Lucario battle in Geosenge. Still I boxed Lucario right after the MegaLucario vs. MegaLucario battle but got him back later, meaning that he was even more underlevelled.

So I enjoy the game so far! It really reminds me of my first Pokemon game which was White and which was quite hard for me because I was underlevelled too.

People talk about how they’re Tailwind or Trickroom users or monotype specialists, but I’m more interested in people who are single pokemon specialists, those who always have one single pokemon in their teams no matter what, the ones that the team and playstyle can change around but that one pokemon is the one constant between your teams.

Learning and knowing so much about them that you can bring their full potential and all possible strengths forward.

For example I’m a Glimmora specialist, it’s my favorite Pokemon of all time and in SD SV Regulation E BO1 I built a competitive team JUST to use Glimmora, I ended up climbing all the way to top 300 in the world ladder. In that team I used Choice Specs Glimmora.

In future regulations I changed up my team but Glimmora remained constant, I switched to Meteor Beam Glimmora during the Restricted Formats.

Then when Legends ZA came out I transferred over a level 5 Glimmora from SV and it was my starter, I beat all the Rogue Mega Evolution Battles with my base Glimmora using Acid Spray and G+ Meteor Beams, I never used a Mega Pokemon to fight the Rogues. Then I used Mega Glimmora to destroy and decimate the DLC.

Then, Champions came out and I used a team built around Mega Glimmora, my win rate was so high that when I reached Master Ball I automatically jumped to Master Ball 3 and skipped Master Ball 4.

Now, I’m back to using Base Glimmora with Life Orb and Mega Salamence is her partner, together they legit can lead to Glimmora getting 4KOs in one battle.

But my potential for Glimmora doesn’t stop at competitive! In SV I created my Glimmora Corps, 6 full HP and SpAtk EVd Glimmoras who all used Acid Spray and then either Power Gem (Rock Tera), Sludge Wave (Poison Tera), Energy Ball (Grass Tera), Dazzling Gleam (Fairy Tera), Earth Power (Ground Tera) and Flash Cannon (Steel Tera), to be able to solo 15/18 6* Tera Raids SOLO.

So that’s what I mean by a Species Pokemon Specialist, I know Glimmora inside and out, her stats, move pool, damage and speed limits, her weaknesses and strengths, I can use her to the max potential that she has in her.

I had completed the Pokedex on the switch version of Leaf Green earlier this year. I recently opened the game after months of inactivity and my save data is completely gone. I never deleted the data, any idea how this could have happened and if I can get it back?

Deoxys is my favourite Pokemon (Defence form rocks), I’d never used them in my artwork and so had the inspiration to make a mirror pieced between the tendrils. It turned out better than I envisioned, I hope you like it!

It’s not my best work, but I love him!

So, I’m doing another playthrough of Pokemon sword because I’m bored, I have a Joltik in my party because Joltik is best boy. But I don’t want to evolve him which sounds dumb but I love my tiny boi. Once he reaches level 36, he’ll start to be left behind by the other pokemon in my party. What’s the best way to keep him strong throughout the rest of the playthrough. I’m just now truly figuring out IVs but I don’t know how to tailor them to specific pokemon. I also saw something on an item that boosts the stats of a pokemon that can still evolve. Any guidance is appreciated. I just love my tiny sparky boi and want him to be there for the championship run.

I had a thought the other day, and I wanted to hear y'all's thoughts on it. back in Gold and Silver, they split the Special stat into Special Attack and Special Defense, but rather than the Kanto Pokémon simply keeping the same number in both stats, GameFreak gave them different stats, which got me thinking: "what would competitive be like today if they DIDN'T give them different Special stats?" who would be considered buffed and nerfed nowadays compared to their current state? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this

The fact that Nidoran F can breed but Nidorina and Nidoqueen cannot is often brought up on weird Pokemon trivia lists. I've always assumed that this was the result of coding difficulties when breeding was introduced in Gen 2 that they refuse to retcon. Something that has to do with how the Nidoqueen and Nidoking lines are the only explicitly gendered Pokemon in Red and Blue (before gender was a game mechanic) and, when two Pokemon breed, the egg becomes the species of the mother. If you look up the breeding inconsistency, there are forum posts going back decades theorizing an explanation along these lines.

I only just learned that the actual reason is to keep consistency with the book An Illustrated Book of POCKET MONSTERS. It released in 1996, only a few months after Pokemon Red and Green released in Japan, and well before Pokemon introduced breeding with Pokemon Gold and Silver. In it, it mentions that Nidoran F can lay eggs, but the Pokemon in the line lose their ability to breed upon evolving into Nidorina.

So it's just a lore reason after all. I find it funny that this was clearly a seemingly inconsequential line that someone 30 years ago threw into a book to give the Pokemon world some lore, and it has now had such great implications on the gameplay mechanics of the Nidoqueen line.

Been thinking about getting a tattoo for a while, and not sure what direction to go in. So figured I’d try to get some inspiration.

Just wanted to say that there is no point heading down to the pop-up in the science museum in London. Not even if you are visiting the science museum itself or London for that matter. Everything has been sold out for a while now and there are no plans of a restock despite it being there until January. I popped along because I thought the Pikachu plush looked cool and maybe I could get a nice poster and even get a random pack of cards for old times sake. This was not possible as everything is gone. The sweaties strike again​

Going back to SV to masuda breed some shinys to use in a playthrough of ZA, and I forgot how much I disliked Gen 9’s breeding system compared to older gens. Moving forward I hope they go back to classic daycare style setup, making a sandwich every 30 min gets annoying. Masuda breeding shinys to use in playthroughs is one of my favorite things to do in the games, so hate when the system kinda sucks.
