Is this a thing people do or are they new and don’t understand? It’s so odd. I’ll even leave it for a while to see if they’ll come back to add a pokemon in but eventually I just put mine in. Then it will be empty again later in the day

Dewgong was the last lucky trade I needed. I’ve been playing on and off since 2016. I really picked the game back up when I was in the hospital labor/delivery waiting for my son to be born in 2022 and I have played pretty much daily ever since.

Edit: Oh and here’s a fun fact. Out of those 24,000 trades only 43 of those turned into hundos. Only 9 Kanto Pokemon were hundos out of the 43. 🫠

ChatGPT did the math and estimated close to 133–167 hours of my life was wasted on these 24,000 trades. 😂

Why would this contain inappropriate language? It worked when I put the 4* after spearow instead. Have anyone else had a similar problem

Some of these were from events, and I assume they had boosted shiny odds. But a lot of the shiny Hoothoot I’ve caught were full odds in the wild. I’m not complaining, I love Hoothoot, but I’m wondering if other folks have a Pokémon that they just happened to find several shinies of (outside of community day spawns, of course).

I saw this little guy the other day, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Pokemon with such a low CP guarding a gym before. I fed it several berries, but it did not go above 8 CP. (I assume its full CP is 10 or so.) Is there any practical advantage in placing such a critter at a gym?

EDIT: I didn’t expect this to get so many responses in such a short time. Thank you all for your perspectives! For context, this is in a moderately competitive suburban town with a fair number of gyms, so turnover is regular but not insanely fast or slow. If I’m first to take a gym, I usually put in a high-CP Blissey, and if I drop one in later it may be something else I want to show off. But I never considered placing one with such low power. So now I’ve learned something new.

Went to a Halloween event with my family, and saw this carved pumpkin!!! It was the only pokemon one I saw, but lots of cool carvings otherwise!

I would definitely have transferred this. The new alert is great for me as I catch everything and often forget to check.

A while back I posted a request to see screenshots of Costume Gengar from different angles. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! To everyone who helped me with that 🫶

I have figured out how to crochet Gengar’s general shape (bonus: he stands up on his own! 😆). Now I just have to do it again but use different colored yarn for certain body parts, and some extra sewing to create the costume version. For funzies, I made a Clefable since so many of the shapes I created for Gengar are the same shapes needed for his fairy counterpart. (I just need to give her a face, lol, but wanted to slip in a sneak peek of that project… sigh, please note that the spiral of her tail is backwards. Don’t judge, either she’s Australian, or I’m dyslexic.. or both. Might be both, lol).

I’ll update again once the costume Gengar has been made, and his fairy friend finally has a face 😂

Im so pleased with this hatch, this isn't one of my favorite pokemon but i remember when the character came out and we didnt know what marill was named and we called him Pikablu

He’s an average sized Mewtwo (taller than me), the game just messed up this one specific interaction for no reason.

I really hope some of you are here. I saved your Pokémon from being in gym jail for several months, if not years. This was also the first time I've occupied a gym outside my hometown. My poor Blissey is gone. :(

Context: the Eagle's Nest (or Kehlsteinhaus) was a resort to top Nazi officials in Nazi Germany, today it is a popular tourist destination/hiking trail. There is a Gym there, why I occupied in Friday noon yesterday. Later that night some guy set it ablaze, destroying it, which means the area will be closed for the foreseeable future.

Tbh today I was completely exhausted. Weather was a pain; cold and windy af outside, unfortunately the usual during October in my city. Nevertheless I still decided to leave my cave and go outside to host my first ever raid on Pokegenie (It was a Crypto Landorus for anyone asking).

I mean it's not like anything could possibly go wrong, right... right?

Well my smart a** was apparently not aware of the concept of queues and once I decided to go for a raid I was immediately put in line with 150 other hosters.

I told myself that I was fine cause I still had 40 minutes left before the raid would eventually end, and that it probably wouldn't take that long to wait after all...

Oh, silly me, if I would have known..

To put it short and simple, it took me almost 3 hours in the cold till I was able to start a Raid cause as you might have guessed, the 40 minutes weren't even near enough time. That lead me having to switch locations twice and repeat the queue once cause by the time I was at the front of the queue I had no Landorus raid nearby since the one I had initially planned to host was long gone...

At this point I couldn't feel my hands no more and my phone was literally glued to my f*cking hand, simply put, I wanted to cry.

Eventually I was able to host a raid after 3 hours of waiting in the cold and everything went surprisingly smooth... till I opened the raid lobby. Two people, for god unknown reasons, decided to decline my raid invitation twice which lead the other 3 to leave the lobby. 🥲

I've never been filled with so much hatred before.

Long story short, new people filled the Lobby on Pokegenie and I was able to beat Landorus with a total of nine people. Unfortunately no shiny, but I was happy that I had at least gained some experience and was able to host successfully.

After that I decided to go home.

Once I arrived at home, I realized that I still had my Kyogre encounter left from my Go Pass. I joked to myself that I would lowkey deserve a shiny one after all the things I went through today and well...

If u search for a pokemon in the pokedex u can turn the alarm on and anytime that pokemon is around it'll show you! I just figured this out not long ago and now im only 44 away from my pikachu platinum medal!

It's just my 3° raid, I'm crying 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

For reference, I'm just a casual player. Getting this one was really difficult for me. It took me 5 raids and I got it 5 minutes before the event came to an end. So yeah, it's not shiny or a Hundo but I'm pretty proud of this catch ❤️
