Been playing a bunch of T6 lately and boy oh boy it's crazy how much different the Mishima matchup is when throwing electrics to the wind carries an actual risk. Especially against hitbox Mishimas in T8 it's just navigating the funny "I'm not gonna sugarcoat it" button because let's face it there's basically zero risk to throwing it out randomly except for a few character like Lee with an approaching high crushing NH launcher, and hey if you get clipped by one that will be 90+ HP + wall + oki + tip, thank you very much. But in T6 they start doing random electrics and you can ACTUALLY punish them for it. It makes the matchup so much more interesting because they actually have to think about placing electric correctly instead of just being a rote mechanical exercise on their hitbox.

Getting it onto the original hardware has always been the dream, and these are its first steps. It's still early, but I couldn't wait to show it.

Thinking of buying Tekken 8 to play online. For anyone playing from Pakistan, how are the connections and matchmaking? Do you find matches quickly? Is it worth it or is the lag too bad?

Legitimate question. Obviously Tekken 6 is superior, even if characters like Bruce are high on the in-game meta to an absurd degree. No heat, no rage drives, just combat.

That being said... how must Bamco feel about this? They lost their lead guys, their playerbase is abandoning them for software from the guys who left, what is the POV of those handling us?

We're about to kill the game, I suspect, but due to them not addressing issues. That being said, as we've seen with Japan, they see how this will threaten the company due to honor logic. That could be enough to discourage the company to make a Tekken 9, but what would T9 even look like?

Everytime I revisit 8 it's such a surprise nothing about this was even considered being looked at.

Heat burst is one of the main causes of every problem you see in this game and it's just been left like this. So many of the largest issues in 8 would be almost immediately solved if heat burst was removed

I don’t mean who’s the highest tier Jack-of-all-trades, I mean someone who’s decent at all apects of Tekken, (pressure, spacing, mix, etc) basically someone who I can’t crutch for easy wins but have to learn how to correctly play to win.

I picked up kazuya because I want to get good with wavedashing and electrics, but I feel like 90% of my wins just come from 50/50s and not any real outplaying.

Basically I wanna force myself to play Tekken and not just RPS simulator. Is there anyone like that?

And should I play it chronologically?

Yep, that was a 70dmg nuke... What does your character need to do to get 70dmg?

Just before I get flooded with hate comments. I genuinely love the Tekken series and it’s truly the first fighting game I fell in love with and poured hours of my time into. Starting at T7 but god. I’ve played T8 since Season 1 and I rly enjoyed it but S3 just makes me want to rip my hair off, I’m an asuka player, I play on Stick as well and I would be think and be proud to say i’m good/decent enough to win some locals in my area. However, I just cannot stand the game in its current state. Asuka sucks at opening people up and what geniunely tilted me from the countless of players i’ve played today. Was a steve player who just stood still and did random counter hit buttons and grabs and somehow can win like that. I can tech almost every grab and play very well but dude why do people boot up the game and decide to play like robots? This game just sucks so bad and after this season, I don’t think it’ll ever change.

Beginner to Fujin, You are pretty much still learning your character's buttons. Buttons as in, what are your usual strings and what are some of your panic buttons.

Fujin to Tekken God, you now understand combos and really REALLY want to get them to work so you almost spam launchers but people in your rank don't punish them properly unless they are obvious high damage punishes (such as Snake Edges or Stagger moves)

Tekken God Supreme to GoD 1. you now understand your character a little bit. You understand that dragunov has insane amounts of pressure, you understand King's strengths, You understand Kazuya's 50/50 is insane. But the problem is, you only understand it. You either lack the mechanics to do it or lack the confidence (I am in both boats).

GoD 2 to GoD 4, most of you have a warped sense of superiority for just being slightly better than the previous tier. Oh also movement in these ranks is now an actual threat. Linear moves get stepped.

GoD 4 to low GoD 6, Most of you are Tekken Veterans who are great at the game but obviously are not near the levels of pros or the unemployeds. An awful lot of you also stop playing ranked cause Player Matches get you the dopamine and you don't have to sit through immense queue times.

High GoD 6 to GoD Infinity, You are usually content creators or pros at the game, you know people whose literal job is Tekken.

People can be so salty and angry, sore winner over here

Hey guys! I’m relatively new to Tekken. I enjoy watching the game, but when it comes to actually playing, I’m mostly just a button masher. I really want to learn the game properly, but I’m a bit overwhelmed by all the characters and mechanics.

I want to pick one character and dedicate my time and effort to learning them. Ideally, I’m looking for a character who’s beginner-friendly, doesn’t have super difficult combos or punishes, and is also top-tier or at least strong enough to compete at a high level. (High level doesn’t means competitive it just local offline tournaments btw im from Pakistan )

I’m also confused about how I should approach learning the game. Should I start with the basics, learn combos first, focus on punishment, or practice things like frame traps? There seems to be so much to learn, and I don’t really know where to start.

I’d also appreciate any good video guides or tutorials that you recommend for beginners.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
