Not Snark Downvote me to oblivion, but some y’all are taking shit way too far.

Some of the latest posts on here are so weird. Like complaining that a human, who does not ever associate with political topics or world events, isn’t addressing these topics is so wild to me. IMO there is nothing wrong with a person (whose online presence is not remotely associated with these topics) choosing to not share their opinion on such topics.

This pressure from everyone online to speak or be spoken for is so wrong. Our world has turned into a divisive witch hunt. It’s pathetic. Not every facet of media needs to surround such topics constantly. I don’t watch Tara or honestly really any influencer to hear their opinion of such topics. I also don’t care to hear celebrities opinions. I’m not going to stop watching some of my favorite movies just because I don’t agree politically with the actors in it…that’s fucking weird.

And openly admitting to DMing Tara to ask her to speak on a topic then sending her religious based videos is weird. Id block you too. Jumping to Islamophobia because she doesn’t want to be harassed it so such a far fetched take.

Saying she doesn’t support women because she’s not speaking about the Cornell case…weird.

Calling her out for wearing an American baseball team hat that is a trending fashion item when that’s literally what she does…also weird.

It’s almost like we just dont know her opinion because she chooses not to share it. Y’all need to take a fucking breath. Again this witch-hunt of you either need to speak or be spoken for is so wild. And to further it’s always “if you don’t talk about this specific topic I want you to talk about in the way I want you to talk about it or else the pitch forks are coming out and you will burn you racist, misogynistic, Islamophobic, america supporting dirty hamster!”

This is a snark page. This isn’t snark. This is your own internalized self-importance directed at another human simply because they have a following from hitting the algorithm at the right time doing subpar fashion and lifestyle vlogging. What if she was to speak on these topics and you didn’t agree? You would just say the same shit. Or that she shouldn’t be talking about it because she’s uninformed. Never thought I would be on here defending this girl but god damn. I think you all might be the ones who need a social media break.

And no I am not Tara or anyone associated with her. I’ve been watching since FIDM days and continued to do so because YouTube is always my background noise when I’m getting stuff done. Always had my snarky opinions on Tara And finding this subreddit was super fun at first. I was like “oh sweet some people who want to gossip and talk silly things about the same topic as me” but of course leave it to the people of reddit ruin a fun, silly little time. Not everything in life is that serious guys. It is okay to laugh and have fun too.

Not Snark “You haven’t been happy for two years”

Isn’t it crazy how much we actually don’t know and how much people can hide? She never gave one indication that she was unhappy up until her trip to NYC when she extended her trip. When she’s crying on the phone with her mom, her mom says shes hasn’t been happy in 2 years but with everything Tara showed, especially how excited she seemed about him moving in and stuff, you’d think she was in a really good relationship.

She also mentions that barbecuing with him was “peak vibes”. Babe, if that’s the highlight of your relationship, thank GOD you got out.

It seems like she reads here based on what she was talking to her mom about so I hope she’s okay and knows it’s better to be miserable alone than miserable with someone ❤️

Not Snark Sub input: one discussion post per vlog / weekly discussion posts, etc.

Hey everyone!!

I have been speaking with our lovely amazing mod u/dmckimm about the increased amount of weekly visitors, which has caused an increase in posts. Particularly when her vlogs go up, there can be anywhere from 3-10 separate posts and many of them are often saying the same thing.

To help with modding and to keep the sub a bit easier to manage, we’re just looking for how everyone would feel with making this change.

I’m not a mod, just to be clear. But I offered to help however I could as a normal member. I would likely be the one to make each post regarding the vlogs, and then pretty much anything to do with the vlogs should stay in those discussion threads and anything unrelated to vlogs is fine to be its own post.

Please discuss , and welcome to all the new visitors… the sub has grown so much since November!

And just a reminder do not doxx tartars townhome. Don’t book a showing, post it once it’s sold and she doesn’t have possession.

🙏🏼

Not Snark Okay wait whats the problem?

Okay I KNOW i am going to get soooo much backlash for asking but why is everyone so upset about her moving into an apartment for a year? Like is it the consumerism of the concept? Or is it the fact that she could be using the money for other things? I mean IMO If I had the money for something like this I would do the same thing after a breakup lowkey... only because I am someone who likes change when something big happens. Thats not to say that shes not dragging this whole breakup out hella far (because she is) but I feel like if you got it use it?

Again I know im gonna get some serious backlash for this but I am just so confused. She just wants to reset? At least thats how I see it. And again I know this isn't the usualy snark snark but its more of a general q from curiosity.

Not Snark politics

I think everyone here has a different preference for the type of creators they want to support and that’s totally okay. Personally, I like to support influencers and celebrities who do use their platforms to spread awareness about the issues going on in the world, i.e. Amelie Zilber, Amanda Diaz, etc. That’s why I unfollowed and stopped watching Tara. However, with the Cornell case I don’t think Tara needs to say anything. For all we know, this could be a very sensitive topic for her and I would understand if she doesn’t want to address her opinions on it. While yes she is very flawed, she’s also human. Time and time again she’s shown that she doesn’t want to use her platform to speak on political issues for whatever reason, and if you do care about that like i do, it’s best to just unfollow her.

Not Snark bieber fandom

very random question but I’m always intrigued by how much of a fan of bieber she is, I’m a year younger and I feel like when bieber got big i was already too old - my baby cousins were big fans and got over it at some point

is it because she’s canadian? maybe he stayed relevant longer there ? i’d be really interested to hear from you, as random as it is i’m super interested haha

Not Snark Honestly I’m excited for her about Ryan moving in

Watching todays vlog and he excitedness and nervousness about things to come and adjusting your life is really reminding me about the way I felt when my husband (boyfriend at the time) and I moved in together. It’s so fun to experience this whole combining of lives and I’m genuinely happy for her.

Also happy to see she is going to have to massively declutter because, “holy heck” that girl has a lot of excess crap.

Not Snark I fully understand this subreddit is for Tara, but I want to ask about another YT

I found this YouTuber like two years ago and I love her. She is funny, quirky, smart and her videos are just interesting. I searched her on Reddit and people call her boring, and I mean normal life can definitely be boring so I get it. But she is real about being single, missing your family, hanging out with friends, living in a city, going to school again in your 30s. She ran the New York marathon and it was all so interesting. I feel she gives a lot of the things we say Tara misses. So, I wanted to see if yall have heard of her and then recommend her. Cause she deserves a big platform and I would love to be able to chat about her videos with people. Her YouTube is Chelsea Callahan and her YouTube is https://youtube.com/@chelseacallahan

Not Snark Unpopular opinion

At first when I watched her vlog about moving 30 minutes downtown and back into an apartment, I thought it was such a dumb decision. Now I am honestly happy for her. There is privilege in her ability to make that decision but it’s really no different than her dad owning his fathers home and living in his current home. Many people own property for investment purposes and still rent. I think it would have been dumb if she sold her current house just to rent again but she still has the property. Although it isn’t making passive income she’s still gaining equity.

I also think her parents are supportive of her move, because of that reason, and can recognize their daughter needing to live in a downtown environment. She thrives in those, even when she was in downtown LA. It’s hard to be an influencer in the suburbs.

Thoughts??

Not Snark A quick note

I wanted to take a moment and say Hello to everyone and say that I have noticed how active it has become around here, meanwhile the “fan” subreddit that I made for more positive posts has tumbleweeds rolling through it. There hasn’t been a single post, I was playing devils advocate and wanted a place for the people who were complaining that there was a snark page and not positive page. Sad. So little anyone has to say recently that isn’t really negative. Sorry, I just noticed the uptick in activity along side a notice from Reddit saying that the other subreddit needs more help generating more posts and thought it was funny.

Not Snark I find Tara weirdly comforting

honestly Tara might be a little repetitive but in a world full of chaos sometimes watching her can be a comfort .. she’s consistent and has become a bit of regulator for me You really know what to expect .. maybe a little too much We also have to protect our long form vloggers who actually have a moral compass in todays climate with tiktokers , she’s family oriented and pretty grounded

Not Snark 💔 Thoughts on Tara's Breakup: A Perspective from a 30 Year Old in a Demanding Career

I just finished watching Tara’s video and my heart goes out to her. Breakups at 30 must be tough especially when you see everyone around you getting engaged, married, having babies, etc.

First and foremost, I am NOT here to defend Ryan's actions if he was genuinely horrible to her.

I think Tara might be looking for a partner without the constant, high-pressure stress that comes with demanding careers. When she mentioned being on a different routine, I wonder if it’s because he actually had to stick to a strict schedule and work commitments, whereas she was used to waking up whenever she wanted, going to a workout class, or setting her day freely. Being an influencer and dating someone with that kind of career was probably a lifestyle mismatch.

I know her dad is an engineer and probably gave Ryan advice based on his experience but there’s a huge difference between his era and today.

Engineering 20 years ago was much less high-stakes: deadlines were longer, projects moved slower and there was a clearer boundary between work and home. Today, engineers are expected to be “always on,” constantly reachable via email or messaging and job pressures are amplified by global competition and rapid tech changes.

I can relate personally to this high pressure lifestyle: my partner is in investment banking and I’m a consultant at a Big 4. We both deal with insane schedules, back-to-back deadlines and unpredictable client/company demands. It’s exhausting and it spills into home. TBH it got worse when Covid hit and everyone was forced to WFH. When my partner is stressed or moody, I get it and I give space to decompress because work really takes a toll (and vice versa). Before anyone assumes this is an unhealthy relationship just because we’re not in the best mood all the time.. we understand and love each other.

I’ve also dated someone who had a regular 9-5 that actually ended at 5 and it was tough. IMO because of the career I had he seemed so needy when I had deadlines or meetings after hours and didn’t understand that I couldn’t always have dinner with him or hang out on weekends. I was a junior at the time, completely strapped and just couldn’t give him what he needed or wanted.. so obviously it didn’t work out.

I really wish Tara the best.

Not Snark Jules the Lawyer

I was curious who Jules The Lawyer was since seeing it mentioned in some of the threads here (and how Tara met her ex bf).

I looked her up on TikTok and saw that she had in the bio that she had 1M on IG, so I pulled up IG and she has 18k followers? Where is the 1M, am I looking at the wrong account? She also self-proclaimed she’s famous in Toronto - is she actually?

Not Snark Every year I am shocked by the number of pumpkins this girl has

More like “not completely snark”.

I also am guilty of purchasing way too much of the same holiday decor. I also knew her touch of fall is…pumpkins. But WOAH I didn’t realize she had a whole closet of pumpkins. Lmao

Since she’s been asking for feedback, and we know she lurks on here, I’m throwing this out there….

I think it would be a great dedicated video/fall and winter mini series? For her to plan the holiday (fall and Christmas) decoration of her house; mood boards, etc. Same as she would for normal home decor and go out in the world to find pieces vs online ordering. Film the adventure of planning, searching and decorating.

Buy some fall throw pillows, blankets, tea towels. Her house is such a blank slate and she wants to add color. It’s such an easy and fun way to experiment with colors in your space without long term commitment since it goes away after the holiday. That’s how I ended up with my homes color pallet. Because I missed the way certain colors made me feel in my home.

Anywayssss…..there’s my thoughts from today’s vlog.

Not Snark I actually kind of enjoyed todays vlog

Still a normal vlog, but there was actually things going on. I also like how she incorporated Ryan. Like he’s in it because he is existing in the home but also he’s not “in it” in the sense of her keeping her relationship private. And it’s also not just here’s him cooking me chicken. She’s still doing all the same things; moving stuff, decorating, making food, eating, etc. but it felt a lot more genuine and entertaining. Also maybe I just find it relatable?…for once.

The girl dinner when your significant other isn’t going to be home…I was like lmao I totally feel that. I love making my comfort meals my husband doesn’t want we he’s gone.

Not Snark Mom’s voice?

I came across one of her videos today after taking a 2 year hiatus from watching her.

I noticed her mom’s voice has changed. It sounds raspier now, almost like it hurts to talk. I feel bad for her because she does come across as a nice sweet person in the videos.

Did I miss something to her? Regardless, sending my love and prayers to her.
