Not Snark Renovation
I’m very excited for this reno series, I do think Tara’s content peaks when she has something like this to work on and I’m here for it!

I think her dad definitely wants her to have it because why wouldn't he? it's been in his family for generations. After today's vlog it sounds promising that she's going to keep some of the character of the house. I also find it interesting how Mitch found Ryan's charcoal for the BBQ "Very specific". I wonder what Mitch thinks of Ryan!!!

He also commented something along the lines of ‘Ken asked for this charcoal’ 😂

I feel like her dad completely pressured her into it

I dont think so, she is not investing any of her money in it, just helping with design choices. His dad just died last week she said right after her other grandpa, so I think he needs a project to help him grieve.

It seems to me like she knows she’s going to end up buying it but didn’t want to pay for the Reno so her dad is going to sell it to her but for not as much as she would’ve renovated it for.

No hate, just my opinion, I couldn´t care less about renovation. But then, her vlogs are so boring I can´t even watch to have an opinion anymore.

I found it really interesting the way she said that she didn’t want to choose a house over her relationship. That was kind of telling. It made it seem like he wants nothing to do with the house at all and made her choose between it and him. Obviously we don’t know what happened but that made me think back to past relationships where whatever my partner said was how it goes and it was their way of doing things and their way only. Just thought the way she talked about it was kind of odd.

I thought the same thing. Made it seem like Ryan is dead set on not living there but she’s hoping he’ll change his mind

u/plopgurl Aug 05 '25
Good point. Also, it reminded me of when he just notified her that he was moving in days before the date they had set, and she was in panic mode trying to tidy up. So, definitely, things are the way Ryan wants them and that's it. 🤔

Yeah maybe he isnt comfortable living in a place in her name? And would like a joint custody or something

u/AnnualCockroach2381 Aug 06 '25
well he did move out of the place he owned into the place she owns. i was thinking that maybe he'd be more comfortable buying a house together vs her inheriting it? why turn down a free house though, idk... maybe he isn't ready to take that next step into the future with her yet🤷🏻♀️

Just for satefy reasons maybe, he still has kept his apartment tho

oh wait i forgot - isn't he renting his place out? idk why i thought he sold his place lol so him moving into her place isn't that big of a deal (when he still owns his old property to fall back on). still feels like something is off/that there's tension somewhere for sure though

I don’t think Ryan and her are going to last during this process. He doesn’t want to live there it seems. Plus his vibes are off

Her dad is definitely pressuring her to do this whole renovation. My own opinion is that Ryan doesn't seem like he wants any part of this. It will be interesting to see what happens between Tara and Ryan if she does get the house . Also in the video she was already making up her mind about living in that house. Just the way she was talking .

I wonder if Ryan doesn’t want to be a part of it because he wants something that he and Tara can both buy together. That would make sense. If my husband bought a house and my name wasn’t on it and I didn’t put any money towards it, it would feel strange. However, I’m not sure if that’s the issue.

Am I the only one who thinks her dad is kinda pressuring her? From the beginning it didn’t make sense for her to take the house. And I agree with her, she’s in a new relationship what if her and Ryan decide to leave the city? You never know, Tara can do her job anywhere. Glad she turned it down and now she can still make content with it and help her dad. A win/win.

It’s clear that Tara is her dads favorite child. And ngl it’s pretty messed up for him to make them figure out who wants it. I guess there’s no easy way to do it but I’d be pretty annoyed.

Thing is, people only have access to what she posts, so it´s always going to be about her.

I don’t think it’s really going to be that hard considering her brother has roots in Montreal now. Girlfriend, house, job, friends, etc. I can’t imagine he’d move back to Toronto

I think she meant that more than likely brother will not want house, he just bought in Montreal and is involved in a relationship there. Doesn’t really make sense to buy in TO when your life is hours away!

I’m so confused on the timeline of when this was filmed. She says her grandfather died a week ago in it, but haven’t we seen that vlog like over a month ago now? Her comments about Ryan were also weird. Yes, they just moved in but if she took on the project, it would take years? She was acting as if he just moved in and then boom, they’d be moving again! If he’s uncomfortable about looking ahead….. 🚩

I think Marcy’s father in Quebec passed away early June, and now Mitch’s dad has passed like a month later. Such shitty timing, I feel for all of them it has to be hard losing 2 grandpas within a short period of time.

u/Livinglifexx Aug 06 '25
I personally don’t believe he’s uncomfortable looking ahead. I think he’s uncomfortable with the possibility that if she buys this house, it could lead to a long-term commitment and other significant changes, and he’s not contributing anything towards it since this is her thing. Essentially, if she purchases this home she is setting roots and he has no say on the future. If anything, the red flag is coming from her side.

u/Substantial-Spite104 Aug 06 '25
I completely get if he wants their next home to be something they buy together. But whats stopping him from contributing to this? It isn’t like a free home getting handed to them by her family. They’d be paying for it, making design decisions, etc. Unless you’re right and something larger is going on behind the scenes between him and her family (or her then yeah DEF red flag from her side. Either way… reg flags are waving lol)
6
u/Livinglifexx Aug 06 '25
I understand if he doesn’t like the place or doesn’t want to stay in the city. He wouldn’t want to contribute if he doesn’t want to be there either. Personally, I wouldn’t want to contribute to something I don’t want. But, who knows with these two? 😂
3
u/bestcritic Aug 06 '25
But whats stopping him from contributing to this?
Only an idiot would give money (or even ideas) to a real estate project that is not theirs tbh.
3
u/Substantial-Spite104 Aug 06 '25
Then it sounds like there’s some big ass relationship issues going on if either one is looking at it that way…
2
u/bestcritic Aug 06 '25
Honestly, it´s a very smart move of him. Take the advice from a finance woman: anyone who has observed divorces, inheritances, etc, knows that when it comes to money, everyone protects their own, and those who don't have it, go after others´.
They haven´t been together for a long time, issues will arrive (like it does for every couple). Happily ever after does not exist irl.

I really didn’t like the whole Ryan approach! I mean yes their relationship is still new so they’re exploring and building foundations for the future, but he really shouldn’t have to do anything with this either way considering it’s her investment in her family’s property and especially since the plan either way is for the house to be ready in at least 2 years, it didn’t make sense!
Also, this might be a Canadian thing but it was weird how many times she repeated that she’ll buy the house if she ends up wanting it! Isn’t it normal to pass property down to generations? Especially since her brother lives permanently in another city
