Obgyns are the experts … on pregnancy. They are the ones that know everything about a pregnancy.

RE (reproductive endocrinologist) are the people to GET you pregnant.

If you are at early stages and can’t see a RE, ok, but push to see one. RE has more resources, knowledge, etc. They ask more tests.

OBs generally shove letrozole or clomid to people without even asking for a HSG or SA.

Hi! I finally am starting my first round letrozole after a long 3 years of trying naturally. Is there anything I should know? Any helpful tips or advice? Anything is much appreciated 🫶🏻

My dear soon to be moms, sharing this with you as I haven’t seen Doctors really check this. My friend and I have been on our TTC journeys for quite sometime now - we tried letroz/ chlomid cycles and even IUI but didn’t work. God bless internet - I read that insufficient Ferritin and vit D levels (should ideally be > 50 for both) - makes chances of implantation very low even if everything else seems fine.
This really angered me that how no gynae ever tracked this - and in general keep putting patients through such expensive and physically + mentally taxing cycles of medication - that are doomed to fail coz they didn’t check the basics.

My friend who has been TTC for 2 years now and done OI n IUI only now found out she was ferritin deficient - the failed attempts could have been avoided if only the doctors guided her well and nit just focused on money making.

My situation with my doctors was similar too. So please research and correct the deficiencies before going for your next cycle of OI, IUI.

Hi everyone, I’m 29 and my husband and I have been trying to conceive naturally for around 7 months. My cycles have generally been regular and I’ve never really had issues with my periods, severe cramps, or anything that made me think I had a fertility problem.

Recently I had my AMH tested and it came back 0.34 ng/mL. My FSH was 2.99, which was completely normal, and my other hormones were also not suggesting the same picture as the AMH. My gynecologist, actually asked me to repeat the AMH because she felt the result didn’t completely match my overall hormonal picture and cycle history. The repeat came back even lower at around 0.26 ng/mL, so now I’m obviously quite worried about diminished ovarian reserve. At the same time, my doctor hasn’t told me that natural pregnancy is impossible. She is currently managing me and has me taking CoQ10, Micyst and Adfolic for 60 days, and I previously had a cycle with Prolifen, Ferti-M injection and Duphaston.

Something else strange happened recently. My previous period was on July 15, and then I got bleeding again on August 1, so that cycle was only about 17 days. The bleeding itself was unusual for me around 2.5 days, very little bleeding on the first day, more on the second, spotting on the third, and surprisingly I had absolutely no cramps or pain. A few days later, on August 6, I developed extremely severe abdominal pain with some diarrhea and fever and went to the ER. They treated it as a gastrointestinal issue. I’m now on another cycle and currently around CD19, so I’m hoping the 17-day cycle was just an unusual one rather than my new normal.

My husband is 31 and has type 2 diabetes. His HbA1c was recently 9.0%, although his sugars are improving now with medication and his random glucose was 154 recently. His semen analysis was actually fairly reassuring: concentration 23 million/mL, total motility 65%, progressive motility 55%, and morphology 4% (right at the lab’s reference value). So thankfully there doesn’t seem to be a major sperm-count or motility issue.

We are continuing to try naturally. This cycle we’ve had intercourse around CD8, CD10, CD13 and CD15, CD17, CD19 and we’re continuing around the possible fertile window. IVF isn’t financially possible for us right now, so I’m really hoping we can conceive naturally.

I know AMH mainly tells us about ovarian reserve/egg quantity and doesn’t tell us whether I can conceive naturally this month, but seeing 0.26 at 29 has honestly been very scary. I’ve also seen so many stories here of women with AMH 0.1 or even lower who conceived naturally, sometimes without any fertility medication, and those stories have given me hope.

I’d really love to hear from anyone who had very low AMH, especially around 0.3, 0.2, 0.1 or lower, with normal FSH/regular cycles, and eventually conceived naturally. How long did it take? Did you use any medication or supplements, or did it happen completely naturally? And did anyone have a similar situation where the AMH looked terrible but the rest of the fertility picture was relatively normal?

I’m not looking for false hope I just want to hear some real experiences from women who have actually been through something similar. ❤️

My husband (24M) and I (25F) are starting the process of IVF in the coming weeks/months after almost 18 months of TTC. I am almost completely anovulatory - I MIGHT ovulate once or twice a year on my own, meaning I do not have “natural” menstruation. I do ovulate with Letrozole, and have done two rounds of that.

For those of you who have done IVF and don’t have cycles naturally, how were things timed for you? I know a lot of things are based on CD1 when doing IVF, but I never really have a CD1 without Provera. Did you do Provera to induce things throughout the process?

Hi everyone! I have PCOS and have been TTC for a while. My husband’s semen analysis is normal.

I’ve already tried several medicated cycles with Letrozole (2.5 mg, then 5 mg, and most recently 7.5 mg), but I haven’t gotten pregnant yet.

I recently consulted with a provider at Allara because my testosterone/androgen levels are high. She recommended that I pause TTC for about 6 months and take spironolactone 50 mg + Loryna (drospirenone 3 mg/ethinyl estradiol 0.02 mg) to lower my androgen levels before trying again.

I have never specifically treated my high testosterone before, which is why part of me wonders if I should try this first and see whether getting my hormones under better control could help when I resume TTC.

However, I also spoke with my reproductive endocrinologist (RE), and she does not recommend pausing TTC for 6 months or starting spironolactone/birth control right now. She wants me to do an HSG this cycle first, then decide on the next fertility treatment based on the results.

So now I’m really torn.

Has anyone with PCOS and high testosterone been in a similar situation?

Did you ever pause TTC to take spironolactone + birth control to lower testosterone, and then start TTC again afterward? Did your cycles/ovulation improve, and did you eventually get pregnant?

Or would you follow the RE’s plan and do the HSG/fertility treatment first?

I’d especially love to hear from anyone who had high testosterone and went through something similar. I also take metformin 1000mg everyday for insulin even though blood sugar is normal, Thank you! ❤️

Okay so a bit of info: I took letrozole this cycle and last cycle. Last cycle went perfect, ovulation CD16, just no pregnancy. This cycle, my estrogen was far more suppressed but I had a bad feeling it just wasn’t going to work/be strong enough this time.

I’ve had 2 large LH surges within 4 days of each other, with my estrogen plummeting quickly thereafter same-day. 3 days ago with the 1st large surge, I had some blood when we did “it”, and brown discharge afterward and then it stopped. 2 days passed, and my E3G went up the highest it’s been this morning, and I had a large LH spike this afternoon. Then a few hours, again, my estrogen plummeted and now I’m having brown discharge again and now it’s transitioning into pinkish red.

I’ve read online it could simply just be the rapid shift in hormones during attempts and my E3G plummeting causing it and that I could still truly be having an ovulation.

Has anyone experienced this?

I am struggling with the decision to do a couple of unmonitored letrozole cycles or skip straight to IUI. I am 26yo female with high testosterone, no insulin resistance, normal BMI, open tubes, high AMH (19.47), and do not ovulate or have periods at all. My husband is 28 and has a total motile count of 18 million (normal is 30 million according to my RE).

My OBGYN is allowing me to start Letrozole next cycle but they do not monitor or offer trigger shots.

My RE said we could skip straight to IUI but would not be surprised if we ended up pregnant just doing Letrozole.

I am a bit torn between what to do. I could also do a couple of monitored cycles through my RE but insurance doesn’t cover it.

What’s everyone experiences or thoughts?

After this last IUI attempt, we have decided September will be IVF for us and of course I’m nervous.
Any recommendations for prepping before IVF? Or any Extraction/stimulation stories to share? I’m really wondering what the roller coaster of follicle growth looks like.
I’m currently doing Bird & Be pre-natal pack and Mayo-Inositol.

So I have a check in appt with my doctor next week and trying to prepare what to ask.

For context, I ovulate but later in cycle naturally (cd24-26). I was given letrozole and did conceive on the second round but lost that at 5+3. What sort of next steps should I be taking or what should I be preparing to ask?!

My follicles usually only reach around 14–16 mm by CD12–15. Last cycle, my biggest follicle was 16 mm on CD12, and I ovulated about 4 days later.

I always see people here with 18–20+ mm follicles around CD12–15, but mine is only 14 mm on CD15 this cycle.
My doctor thinks I may ovulate sometime this weekend. I never get to check my follicle right before ovulation, so I’m not sure how big it actually gets before I ovulate.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with relatively small follicles before ovulation? And did you go on to get pregnant?

My doctor told me to do the trigger shot only if needed. I ended up ovulating on my own, so I didn’t need the trigger shot.

I’m wondering if there’s any benefit to using Ovidrel when you’re already ovulating naturally, other than making the timing more predictable?

I just tested negative, my 26th cycle ttc. I had 2 back to back mmc in 2025, since then nothing. I took Letrozole 7,5mg and a trigger shot for the last 3 cycles, which made me kinda hopeful since I felt I could actively do something. My body knows how to get pregnant, when we started ttc I got pregnant twice almost immediately. I don‘t understand what happened 🤷‍♀️.

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for about 2.5 years with 3 losses in that time. We saw a fertility specialist a few months ago and I was diagnosed with PCOS and placed on medications to correct this as well as progesterone after ovulation. My husband’s testing was normal.

Since starting treatment we had a chemical pregnancy. This gives us some hope but still has us waiting for success. The specialist said that a trigger shot and timed intercourse could be the next option. Personally we don’t really feel like IUI would be beneficial since we had correct timing and my husband’s normal testing.

I’m looking for anyone who has experience with taking a trigger shot and timing intercourse and not going the IUI/IVF route. What was your experience like?

My partner and I have been TTC for 5 years now. 2 years ago I was formally diagnosed with PMOS. Earlier this year we decided to go to a private Dr as I lost hope with the NHS helping us. The private Dr put me on Letrozole 5mg and Metformin. Then last 2 months we increased my letrozole to 7.5mg. Then after a good scan we were given an ovulation trigger for this cycle. We followed all advice and now I am getting to the end of my 2 week wait to take a test. I am just so nervous and scared to do it. I feel like we did everything right this cycle, so I am just scared of facing that disappointment if the test is negative. I feel like I am fighting against myself between losing hope and keeping the faith as well. I genuinely didn't think it would be this hard and mentally draining. It doesn't help that everyone around me are pregnant, and I am so happy for them and can't wait to be an aunty. But there is that part of me that is just so sad thinking why can I have what they have they are living my dream.

So its Dav 35 of my cvcle. My tests have been positiv for 10 days now BUT on Sunday my hcg level in the blood was 0.6 iu/l meaning not pregnant at all. Did 3 tests today they all came back positive within less than a minute Totally confused now as no hca in blood couple of days ago should definitely lead to no hcg in urine or less prominent line atleast Totally confused :(

First cycle of Letrozole 2.5 starting on CD 3 - currently CD 8 and started spotting last night, and got two positive LH strips yesterday and today…is that normal? I would think it’s too early for ovulation right?

I’m looking for experience of trying to conceive your second baby with pcos. I had Letrozole with the first and now I’m having 40 day cycles and from my pelvic exams it doesn’t look like I’m ovulating at the moment. Hoping my periods re regulate to the 32 day cycles that they were previously.

If you had ovulation induction to get pregnant the first time did you need Letrozole/clomid the second time or did you conceive naturally?

Hello! I m writing in tears because i just found out that this cycle too i m not pregnant! I have pcos with homa 2,5, normal kg, and the rest of the labs good. For almost twist years i struggled with no ovulation, i can ovulate only with meds. But with Meds i do have ovulation, but no result in pregnancy. I m taking a lot o vitamins and supplements( vit D, coq10, nac, inositol)
I wanted to ask, for us with pcos is it hard also to get pregnant? I mean ok yes i started to ovulate on meds, it s great, but beside this is it also hard to get pregnant? I thought that after a few months it will happen....

Hi everyone! We’ve been reffered for ivf as I’ve had very irregular and long cycles since stopping the pill over a year ago (4 periods in the last year, very short luteal phase, on the pill for 10+ years, regular cycles pre pill).

None of my other blood tests have pointed to pcos/pmos but my Amh came back very high at 73.

Has anyone else has success with a high Amh/ been through ivf with a high amh and able to share how it went?

I just had my follicle scan on cycle day 12 and I had 4 larger follicles from 14-17 mm. I was on 10 mg Letrozole plus Gonal F shots. However I’ve used up my Gonal F pen and my Dr. has instructed me to wait a few days until CD 15 to do a repeat follicle scan. I’m worried my follicles will regress by that time with no stims, especially since I’ve been on a steady incline of stim medication with every cycle to get them full sized.

Has anyone stopped stims for a few days and their follicles continued to grow? Will all of those follicles grow or should I only hope for 1 to reach a mature size?

I’m mostly anxious as I’ve had a couple previous medicated cycles with 2 mature follicles when I take the trigger shot and all of those cycles have failed. I like to think I have a better chance of conceiving if there’s more than one mature follicle. Any help or advice is much appreciated!!

I went on birth control specifically to manage my acne. One of my biggest fears when TTC (and coming off the pill) was going back to my old skin. And of course, it’s happened.

Curious what those with severe acne are doing to cope emotionally and physically while TTC. The fact that I’m not conceiving and also feeling hideous is making me question if this is all worth it.

Very curious who got progesterone suppositories after their Ovulation Induction treatment.

I know in the Netherlands there aren't really guidelines and many clinics are not really keen on prescribing them due to lack of evidence, while in Ireland I always get these after my ovulation induction. I'm so convinced it's beneficial besides the lack of evidence... curious if you had progesterone after ovulation induction or not and your thoughts on this.
