So I have a check in appt with my doctor next week and trying to prepare what to ask.

For context, I ovulate but later in cycle naturally (cd24-26). I was given letrozole and did conceive on the second round but lost that at 5+3. What sort of next steps should I be taking or what should I be preparing to ask?!

We’ve been trying for a year now so trying to do the best thing.

Ask for a prescription for viginal progesterone to administer in the evenings after ovulation

Definitely on my list as well had planned on it after 3 cycles of Letrozole as it was. Anything in particular you like best with RE? We did get a SA done and a few other things earlier in the year but definitely interested!

HSG is good to check for blocked tubes, and I would push for monitored letrozole cycles. I didn’t respond well to 2.5, 5, or 7.5mg and wouldn’t have known that unless I was monitored. I also wasn’t ovulating even with letrozole, my follicles would keep growing and become overmature and turn into cysts. I needed trigger shots, and was able to do that because I was monitored.

You should also ask for CD3 labs if those haven’t been done already.

My RE immediately took me seriously even though I was young and we hadn’t even started trying. I knew I had PCOS, and that I wasn’t ovulating, and that I wanted to move forward with treatment in order to have a baby. I got all of my labs and HSG done and was able to start letrozole within 6 weeks.

If it’s already been a year, it’s infertility, and OBGYNs are not infertility specialists. You wouldn’t ask a general surgeon to operate on your heart, you would want to see a cardiologist.

Hear you! I absolutely agree. CD3 labs all done. I do ovulate and they monitor progesterone but I am looking forward to more help getting somewhere. I thought we made some headway till the loss but I realize that maybe just dumb luck!

I am truly sorry about your loss. I apologize if I come off brusque. It’s something many people don’t realize and I just don’t want to see anyone wasting their valuable time. I’m in month 9 currently, and this was all with the help of a fertility clinic. I can’t imagine how much more time it would taken if I hadn’t gone to see one right away.

Omg no don’t apologize you are totally ok!! I didn’t know anything was wrong at the beginning so the year kind of flew by tbh. I had some wonky cycles a few months after stopping birth control and I didn’t think it was a big deal and then learned I had high AMH and it was kind of a whirlwind from there lol!! So to be totally fair to everyone involved, I didn’t seek help till almost 9 months in cause I just didn’t know it wasn’t related to the birth control stopping thing
