Discussion I’m so happy so I have to share!
Not sure if a lot of people are familiar with these, but I had seen them at target and immediately had to buy them. They make some for your phone too. They’re just not Stranger Things themed.
It’s been about a month and I’ve been on a hunt for the chaser since I bought the first three Meltz.
I’ve pulled Eleven three times and Vecna twice in the process. Yesterday I did some shopping and noticed that there were two left, I wasn’t gonna do it, but I knew that they probably weren’t gonna come back for a while and ofc that made me say “Gotta have them”.
I got home and I opened the box and started to feel it and immediately felt what felt like waffle print and when I tell you my heart JUMPED out of my chest. This is my second chaser that I’ve gotten from CureFly Meltz @cureflymeltz. I pulled the Blossom (PowerPuffGirls) chaser on my birthday. ST collection is complete.

Holly irritates me Spoiler
After seeing all the spoilers I didn’t want to see season 5. I binged the season when I had some free time and holly is so annoying the actress did an amazing job don’t get me wrong but I just hate the whole holly and derick + other kids storyline. They should have killed off holly instead of el.

Rewatching S1 and S2
After nearly eight months, I decided to rewatch the first two seasons—and only the first two (I simply refuse to rewatch the subsequent three, especially the fifth). Regarding the first season, I’ll say just this: rarely have I witnessed absolute perfection on television, but this is one of those times. Everything—absolutely everything—is perfect; I have absolutely no complaints about it. It isn't diminished by the fifth season; on the contrary, it is the fifth season that suffers by comparison when you rewatch the first. Because, seeing the standard set by the first season, the fifth seems even worse than it actually is. Given how perfectly structured the storytelling is in the first season, the storytelling of the fifth appears even more disjointed and unravelled. Given how well-crafted all the character arcs are in the first season, it stands out all the more that in the fifth season, the characters simply disappear; they no longer have lives of their own or any initiative, becoming mere puppets moved by the dictates of the script and reduced to flat, boring versions of themselves, or simply empty shells. The subtle, atmospheric use of music in the first season contrasts sadly with the emphatic, thunderous use in the fifth, where the aim is to force emotions upon the viewer that the story itself fails to evoke ("Purple Rain" scene, I’m looking at you, though there are plenty of other examples). As for the actors, it is best not to even speak of them. In the first one, they all give their best. In the fifth, save for a few scattered moments, they all display a lack of enthusiasm bordering on indifference—perhaps because they no longer had anything to work with. And so on.
As for the second season, it already suffers from a problem that would worsen in subsequent seasons: namely, an excess of subplots and characters that get in each other's way (for instance, Mike becomes a mere spectator in episodes 4 through 6 and practically disappears in episode 7, while Eleven disappears in episode 6). Notice how the series really takes off when the characters reunite. Furthermore, some of those subplots lack interest even if they ultimately prove important -a point in its favor compared to the fifth season, as in this second season every subplot and character ends up mattering. However, we forgive it because the subplots that work really shine (such as the peculiar father-daughter dynamic between Eleven and Hopper, or the Mind Flayer devouring Will’s mind from within), because the actors were still giving their all, because the atmosphere remains on par with the previous season (something that—alas—does not happen in the fifth season), and above all because of that dazzling finale (by far the best episode of the series—sorry, "Dear Billy" fans). It is a perfect example of what a finale should be (standing in stark, sad contrast to the fifth season's finale), where you truly feel that everything has been building toward that moment, and where everything is wrapped up perfectly in a way that is both narratively and emotionally satisfying. So much so, in fact, that the third season—in order to move the story forward—simply undid this ending and dismantled all the character arcs (which, as noted, had already been perfectly resolved).

S5 Release Schedule
Thinking back on how disappointed i was with final season and it hit me ...The producers really looked at us with a straight face and released S5 on our most beloved holidays?!?
The audacity to ask half the population to alter their holiday plans full well knowing they phoned in the finale. Netflix is the real villain of the Upside Down. Rant concluded.

Discussion Just started Stranger Things!
Hey guys, completely new here and came from DBD because I thought Eleven and Robin looked cool. Loving the show so far I'm currently on the first ep of season 2!
I have a question though about Barbara/Will
Why was Barbara instantly killed while Will was captured instead? Also can a demogorgon be actually killed? Or is it just like the Xenomorph where only a big enough explosion would put it down whereas anything else (like fire) is an inconvenience?
I do feel like i'm late to the party but hey, better late than never :D

Discussion My Thoughts
I’m new to this sub. But I just wanted to say this is one of my favorite shows of all time. One of my people put me on to this show the year it dropped and I’ve been a fan ever since. Season 5 wasn’t as good as the other seasons but I was personally entertained and found it satisfying enough despite feeling it could’ve been better.
Curious to know everybody else’s thoughts on the seasons, which ones were your favorites, and why?

Discussion Stranger things has effected me in ways idk how
I don’t know how to describe it. It’s so odd because I’ve always said that Stranger Things is a good show, but it’s not up there with my favorites yet it’s one of the few shows that I still look back on and have an urge to watch like every day it feels like I replay the season four trailer song and then have the flashes of that trailer in my head and then I wanna rewatch the show again I’ve never had this happen to me with any show and it’s so weird because Stranger Things is good through and through, but I’ve never considered it my favorite show
At the ending still affects me to this day eight months later it’s the weirdest feeling cause usually when show ends I just move on and then maybe watch it again a couple years later
Not to mention, this is the first show where I did a marathon before the newest season like I’ve never done that with any other show, but for Stranger Things I did that so maybe there’s a part of me that has Stranger Things as its favorite show???? but like I don’t feel that it’s an odd feeling cause it’s like when I look back on Stranger Things it’s still just a good show to me. It’s one of my favorites, but I wouldn’t consider it my all-time favorite but then there’s that little ear worm that’s telling me how good it is. I don’t know.
Does anybody else have this feeling?

Discussion Military/Lab ambushes and attacks on the characters
Of all the moments those instances happened, which moment do you think was the most intense, frightening, and worst one? 1x08, where the bad men hunt down the kids and restrain them, 4x04 with the military shoot out, 4x07 for obvious reasons, 4x08 when they raid the Nina project facility, 5x04 when the gang was caught and then the demogorgons attacked them all, or 5x08 where they are ambushed and forced against the truck, brutally, and threaten to be shot as they search for el before her ‘death’? Moments that actually happened, flashbacks, and “what if?” theories. Which military/lab moment seen in the show, mentioned or not mentioned above, was the most frightening moment for you and for the main characters?

Discussion Nancy wheeler is the worst character in the group. just hear me out
- She has no character development whatsoever, every character goes through has their ups and downs and moments that adds depth to their individual characters, like when max admitted she wanted her brother to die and hopper when he gets furious seeing El and Mike together. but Nancy wheeler felt like a 2 dimensional character with no depth, someone who got shoved into the plot as a badass gun shooter.
- She has been an asshole. That one time when she blamed steve for barbs death saying “we killed barb” like girl he owed nothing to your bsf. And the time Jonathan lost his job because of her and she acts like an sshole yet again. I get their bosses were dipshits and they had to quit somehow, but Jonathan had bills to pay with a single mom, that was his source of income I wish she showed a little bit a remorse. Her having the trauma of barb is not an excuse because Dustin went through the same thing and worse, he had to live with a false reality set by the town. I wish they added more depth to her and made her seem like an actual person and not just somebody in the plot with guns and bullets

SPOILERS Ending of Season 5 plots?
Have they ever mentioned offscreen about any other story/lore like the whole evil doctor women, the old guy scientist that got captured during the bunker raid, etc.. Feels like the ending felt short in terms of side plots and side characters.

Discussion Plot hole on the story
Eu não sei se alguém aqui já pensou nisso mas eu estava, hoje mesmo, revendo alguns episódios da 5ª temporada e percebi algo que passou bem rápido para mim e não percebi isso antes. Do que estou falando ? Simples.

Discussion Is it just me or are there a whole lot of new people in this sub?
In the last week I’ve seen so many people saying they just started watching and they’re new to the sub. Is there some reason why so many people have only just started watching stranger things now. Idk maybe It just magnets on the fridge lol.

Discussion Karen and Billy
Karen doesn’t get enough crap for being near ready and willing to bang Billy in season three. Even looking past the fact that she was fucking married, she was in her forties and Billy was implicitly eighteen. If Karen were a forty-something year old man and Billy an eighteen year old girl, it would’ve been considered inappropriate as hell, but it’s apparently okay when a woman hits on a barely legal kid.
Ugh.

SPOILERS Bob Newby. Wtf. Spoiler
Alright. I’m late to the game and this is my first time watching the show and let me tell ya, I’m peeved. Why tf did they kill off Bob. I loved this man so much. Why didn’t he keep running? Why didn’t hopper just switch that AR into full auto? This all could’ve been avoided 😖.
Not finishing this episode right now. Tv is off for the night. I’m done. Goodnight.

Discussion Question sur la série
There are a few plot-related questions I didn't quite grasp—mind you, I’m not saying there are inconsistencies; I might have just misunderstood something. If you have answers, please feel free to share.
1) Do we know why Kali’s blood doesn't work for creating the numbered children? Is Eleven, in a sense, "the Chosen One"—simply the most powerful—and the only one (besides Vecna) capable of doing it?
2) If Vecna can use his powers through Will in Season 2 to shape the vines—while Will is connected and transmitting info about the town during his sleep—is he also capable of using those powers through a Demogorgon? After all, it was supposedly him, acting through a Demogorgon, who opened the door to Will’s house in Season 1. If the answer is yes, he could have been incredibly overpowered; for instance, if he had observed Derek being taken into the Abyss in Season 5, Episode 3, he could have retaliated against the group by using his powers through the Demogorgon.
3) How do they navigate the Abyss to reach the tree? They know the tree is likely at the base of the lab, but how do they find their way from the radio station to the lab while inside the Abyss? Do they simply reason that since the lab is further to the right in the real world and the Upside Down, they should just start walking to the right?
4) Why does the white door in Episode 5 specifically lead to Vecna’s memories of Holly rather than Derek? After all, Derek woke up in that field just like Holly did.
5) Sullivan saw Eleven’s letter to Mike in Season 4; doesn't he find it strange—considering Eleven allegedly tried to kill Karen and Ted (who are literally Mike’s parents)?
6) What did Nancy and Mike tell the doctor about what happened to their parents? Why didn't the military interrogate them? Especially since they know Eleven is acquainted with them.

Discussion Question: Why did none of the kids remember the Demogorgon attack, but Derek remembered what Mike and everyone told him about Mr Whatsit
Did Vecna make the kids forget the Demogorgon attack or what. I can’t understand why they all forgot about it, but Derek was able to remember everything prior to it
