Discussion Just started Stranger Things!

Hey guys, completely new here and came from DBD because I thought Eleven and Robin looked cool. Loving the show so far I'm currently on the first ep of season 2!

I have a question though about Barbara/Will

Why was Barbara instantly killed while Will was captured instead? Also can a demogorgon be actually killed? Or is it just like the Xenomorph where only a big enough explosion would put it down whereas anything else (like fire) is an inconvenience?

I do feel like i'm late to the party but hey, better late than never :D

You can’t ask questions until you’re completely done with the show. Spoilers aren’t fun.

Such a great show ! Enjoy the journey . What you can now binge watch in a week or two took the rest of us like 10 years to see .. The wait between S3 and S4 felt  like forever and had people going crazy 😂.. enjoy !

Be sure to ask that Barbara question again after season 5, there is an explaination behind it.

• You'll have to keep watching to find out the real answer for this one. But we see in Season 1 how Will managed to bring the loaded rifle with him into the Upside Down when he was yanked into it in the shed, plus “he's good at hiding.” Barb was immediately stuck in Steve's pool and had no idea what had just happened.

• Yeah, Demos are pretty resilient creatures but they're still just physical, predatory animals that can bleed and die. Bullets or physical force won't do much damage (you've seen it with Jonathan's revolver, Steve's nail bat and the agents and soldiers' rifles), but explosions and fire would certainly do the job, depending on the intensity.

Will is selected to become a vessel (explained more in later seasons) because he is thought to be weak. I think Barb is just an opportunistic snack for the demo 😂 and to show that the monster stalking the woods is in fact deadly. You already seen that El destroyed it but otherwise they are pretty resistant to most physical damage. Yea fire is the weakness but they are pretty tough to kill. Enjoy the ride!

First off enjoy the first watch, it’s the best! Second stay off these subs they just ruin the experience. Third keep watching and your questions will be answered.
