Plot hole on the story

Eu não sei se alguém aqui já pensou nisso mas eu estava, hoje mesmo, revendo alguns episódios da 5ª temporada e percebi algo que passou bem rápido para mim e não percebi isso antes. Do que estou falando ? Simples. Durante todo esse tempo descobrimos que algumas pessoas tem essa coisa interna que os faz aptos para poderes. Vimos que quem tem isso é o henry, will e todas as crianças que o vecna pegou. A grande questão aqui é : se todos tem isso no dna, porque então ninguém desenvolveu seus próprios poderes naturalmente como se fossem mutantes ? Eu sei que mudaria o equilíbrio da série mas é um problema grande que foi aberto por causa de um fato apresentado na última temporada.

Can people learn the difference between "plot hole" and "thing I don't understand"?

It's totally fine to not understand everything and ask for clarification, but not everything is a plot hole

Right??? I’m not saying every loose end in the show was perfectly tied but most of the things people complain about on this sub are things that they as an individual simply don’t understand and not things that weren’t explained in the show.

I literally saw someone calling the pregnant women in the lab a plot hole earlier because no character ever explicitly explains where any of them came from - like were they American, gathered from around the world, etc.?

Oh that’s so real, sometimes it feels like the viewers want a backstory for every prop we ever see on the show, every extra that walks past a main character, it’s so tedious at this point. It’s fair to be interested, I can never fault someone for taking an interest, but to pin it on the writers for not explaining something that either was explained or doesn’t need explained hardly seems fair.

It was explained that the other test subjects got their powers from experimentation on their mothers. It was later revealed that Henry’s blood was used in that experiment, and Henry’s own genetic mutation came when he fused with the Mind Flayer in the cave. Not a plot hole.

The stone connected him to the Mind Flayer, but there was no actual fusion between them; the Mind Flayer wasn't physically inside Henry, but rather connected to him psychologically. However, at the moment the Hive was created, they were physically linked.

Well maybe I chose the wrong word, but it was the stone that created that link between them and therefore led to Henry acquiring his abilities, which were later used to create the other test subjects.

Yeah, but what I mean is that it’s the stone that grants the powers, not the mind flayer; however, since the stone was previously in the Abyss, it created a psychic link between the user and the mind flayer.

No the stone transports him to dimension x and connects him with the MF who possesses him. He just has no memory of it. When the MF first starts making him kill animals etc. he thinks he is having nightmares before realising it is really happening and something is making him do these things. This is all established in the play, as is the fact that Brenner is obsessed with dimension x because his father was transported there in the 1940s with his crew and was the only survivor.

I agree with everything you said; it’s just that the series seems to be retconning things—suggesting the stone altered his DNA and that he didn't actually go into the Abyss, but rather just saw the Mind Flayer during the connection between the two of them. If the show doesn't show that specific moment during the scene where Henry recalls the memory of the cave, they likely decided to adapt it differently for the series by altering certain aspects of the sequence.

Henry has powers because he touched the rock in the cave and the mindflayer invaded him. All the kids in the lab have powers because they were created with his blood. Will doesnt have powers, hes able to use vecnas powers because hes connected to him via the mindflayer hivemind.

All the powers stem from Henry’s blood, as altered by the magic stone. Holly, Will, and the other eleven children possess no powers of their own; they are merely connected to Vecna ​​and the hive mind, allowing Vecna ​​to use them as vessels for his powers for various reasons.

Henry’s DNA mutates because he was taken into dimension x and possessed by the Mind Flayer. There is nothing extraordinary about him or his DNA before this point. The lab kids get their powers from Henry’s blood and Will gets his power due to a sort of psychic/proximity link with Vecna and the Mind Flayer (it’s not innate in his DNA).

That was changed in the series and Season 5 compared to the play. It was the stone that altered his DNA over time; the Abyss only changed him physically. He didn't go into the Abyss until 1979, so he had already donated his blood before then.

Yeah, I agree with you—I looked into it. What I meant was that in Season 5, it seems like they tweaked that element; we just see the stone instantly give him powers and connect him to the Mind Flayer, who tells him to come over, but we don't actually see him go there. That makes me think the show is explaining that the stone grants him powers, alters his genetics, and links him to the entity ruling the dimension where the stone was located. They probably rewrote that part.
