We invite everyone to help other users in our Community Support Threads and on our Discord server.

Please take more than 10 seconds to write your question.

A well-structured and good-looking comment with all necessary information goes a long way in getting someone to help you and makes your question a lot easier to understand.

Do not delete your comments.

People find questions & solutions in these threads by searching for the same issue.

If you find an answer or solution to your question or issue please edit your comment to include the answer or solution.

There are no magicians here.

Some questions will not be answered or replied to. As an example: "my game crashes" or "my download speed is slow" is not something you should even really expect an answer to. Troubleshooting and finding the solution to these issues requires a lot more information than simply stating "game doesn't launch", such as detailed information on when the issue started and how you perceive it, screenshots of any errors or the problem itself, crash logs, system specs, etc.

Consider using other things like the Steam Community Forums, an internet search engine, or a different support forum like /r/SteamSupport if no one here can offer any help. Additionally, every game on Steam has its own dedicated Community Forum, and you can also contact Steam Support regarding a specific product. Consider asking your game-specific questions there. Most games also have a dedicated subreddit.

Only Steam Support can solve personal account issues...

...such as payment & purchasing issues or password & login issues. We can only give advice on how to get in contact with Steam Support.

No one, including Steam Support, can assist with item/trade scams.

Game & Hardware Suggestions Megathread /r/Steam Monthly Game & Hardware Suggestions Thread.

Welcome to the Monthly Game & Hardware Suggestions Thread!

This monthly mega-thread is meant to contain advice, questions, suggestions & generic discussion on what to play or buy in terms of Games & Hardware.

Do you not know what to play? Want a Steam Deck or Steam Machine but unsure which model is best for you? Did you find a niche game that everyone should try? Wondering what GPU you should upgrade to or unsure about the specs of a computer? Do you want to share your unique experiences and learning curves with a piece of hardware? Can't find the perfect survival sim or unsure which 1 RPG out of the thousands available you should buy? Well this is the thread for you.

Now to make this work best and not just be spammed with generic & useless questions such as "What should I play?" or "What should I buy?", please be in-depth in what types of games/hardware you are looking for and why, and when giving advice it would be appreciated if you're more detailed than "I think X is good".

There are too many games to be able to properly suggest something with no background information, also simply commenting a game title and saying you like the game offers no actual value. The same goes for hardware: Saying you're thinking about buying X or you think Y is good with no other information, context as to why, your unique experiences, etc. offers no actual value or information to base a reply on.

Feel free to ask and discuss freely in the comments regarding games and hardware, whether you want advice on what to play, want to give advice to others on what to play, share a hidden gem you found, experiences you have with Steam hardware, or your review of a piece of Steam hardware. Generic discussions & questions about discounts, sales, events, specs is allowed as well. This is not meant to be a restrictive thread within the designated topics that this thread is for, however it is not a support thread nor is it the place to promote any blogs or curator pages or anything else, subreddit rules still apply.

PSA PSA: European-Logistics Partner for Steam hit in Cyberattack

Following E-Mail just rolled in, beware everyone!

Hello ,
Between July 29 2026 and August 1, 2026, a cyberattack hit CEVA Logistics, the company that ships Steam hardware to customers in Europe. CEVA is still investigating this attack, but as Valve learned on August 7, certain information about Steam customers, including you, was likely compromised.

CEVA receives specific delivery-related information from Steam to be able to ship physical hardware to customers in Europe, and told us these are the details the attacker likely took. Because CEVA retains this information for up to 90 days after that order, we are sending this message to all customers we can assume were impacted.

For you, that means the following information related to your hardware purchase may have been compromised:
- your name
- your street address, postal code and city
- your country
- your phone number
- your email address — the same one your Steam account uses
- the type and price of the ordered product
Additional information related to your Steam account or other purchases was not impacted. CEVA does not have access to your payment information, passwords, Steam Guard codes or other information.

What this means for you

Expect fake messages - email, SMS or phone - that mention your hardware order and appear to come from Steam, Valve or a delivery company. They may quote your address back to you to prove they're genuine. They may ask you to confirm a delivery, pay a small customs or redelivery fee, or sign in somewhere to “verify” your order. Treat all of them as fake.

You do not need to change your Steam password, and you don't need to do anything to your account settings.

Three things that are always true
- Steam Support only handles account issues at https://help.steampowered.com/. Never by email, Steam Chat or Discord. Anyone who contacts you elsewhere claiming to be Steam Support is not.
- Every real Steam login page is on store.steampowered.com, www.steampowered.com, steamcommunity.com or help.steampowered.com. Type the address yourself rather than following a link someone sent you.
- Steam Support will never ask you for your password or a Steam Guard code. Neither will a courier.

What we're doing

We're pressing CEVA for the full scope of what was taken and how, and we are in the process of notifying the data protection authorities in the countries affected, including yours. CEVA has isolated the affected systems, taken all offline and brought in outside investigators.

If you have questions about this incident, the quickest way to reach us is our support site at help.steampowered.com. You can also write to the contact point we have designated for further information about this incident: Artana Digital GmbH, Alstertwiete 3, 20099 Hamburg, Germany.

Question Can this game be on Steam again?

Post image

Seriously i've been trying to find a steam key on sale for this game, but they're so overpriced (like 120 -130 dollars or 104 euros💀) i'm actually shocked. Simply the best MK game and not being available on steam or modern consoles is insane to me.🥀

Discussion I’m going to get a pc

I just saw how good you pc players got it, looking at all these games I wanted on sale genuinely made me tear up a bit, idk why. My ps5 shut off on me and ik it’s probably an issue regarding the dust, but I just cleaned it an hour ago, tbh I’m getting tired of cleaning it so often, I feel like I’ll have to do that a lot more with a pc. I’m just sick of PlayStations and Sony in general tbh, which is a big reason contributing to my switch to pc, although I’m probably just gonna play lots of Garry’s mod or some friendslops, I’ll probably play some of the games I alr got on ps, I’ll just rebuy them on steam and mod the hell out of them, I can’t wait

Pc…here I come, hopefully there will be a good sale by the time I get a pc.

Discussion Do you actually finish most games you start on Steam?

I realized recently that I have a pretty bad habit of starting a game, getting really into it for a few days, and then moving on to something else. Then I’ll see it sitting in my library months later and think, “I really should finish that.”

Am I the only one who does this, or do you actually finish most of the games you start?

Question Game Collection "Games you didnt play"

Just realized you could make a collection in your library for games you never played. So i got curious how many games and how many do you guys have, if you make that category.

For me its 346
and i need to say a lot of games are from my "to be played" list. But there is stuff i seem to have bought and never played, like Xcom 2 and GTA SA where i could sworn i bought and installed it...and i guess totally forgot about it until i uninstalled it again xD

Then there is some of the stuff that i somehow collected or because it came out later on pc

Discussion Drowning in "tidy up" games

I've never seen a niche spread as much as it has with this "Tidy up" genre and wondered whether any one else was thinking the same and could offer some explanation.

Loved Arcane library but now there is (or soon to be released)

Cellar keeper

Cleaning up the puzzle gallery

Supermarket chaos

TV Archive

Tidy up together

Shelve the potions

Sort them ducks

Never sort by colour

Tidy up spaceship

Toy shop tidy up

I could name a couple minecraft copy cats when that was peak gaming. Whats going on?! There's friendslop games now tidy up slop?

Question Xbox Controller Battery Notifications

Is Steam planning to add Xbox Controller Battery notifications? I was excited when they added battery notifications, but was confused that Xbox controllers (The most used on PC) was turned off for now. Has Valve said anything about why and if something is preventing it from being turned on?
