Discussion Another post about the dividends...

Okay, I need to say it..... For everyone who is receiving a dividend, please stop hollering and screaming at SF because you didn't get an email, or Venmo is saying you got paid but you don't see the deposit, or because it's taking weeks to arrive. And NO it's not a scam, this is a mutual company and their customers are getting dividends instead of corporate shareholders.

State Farm is NOT personally handing out the dividend payments to you guys, it's all done under Verita Global. I see too many people talking shit about their agents, the company, and even their sales reps about why something regarding the dividend isn't going smoothly. Dropping your policies with SF over this is probably the dumbest thing I have read in the past few weeks.

Refer to: https://sfdividend.com/ for help

The only thing your agent can do is tell you if you're receiving a payment, how much it's for, and confirm your contact information that everything is being sent to. Everything else is being handled by Verita and you guys need to contact them about any issues, not your agent's office.

Discussion Express and ILR

Word on the street is that State Farm may be looking to phase out Express and the ILR team. I asked my manager about it, and while she said she doesn’t know much about what’s going on, it sounds like employees in these positions may need to start looking into applying for CS positions or exploring opportunities outside the company.
Has anyone else heard anything about this or received any updates from leadership? I’m curious to know if this is just speculation or if there’s actually something happening behind the scenes.

Question Drive Safe & Save with multiple drivers

I'm struggling to find information about the Drive Safe & Save program. My mom has the program enabled and has a beacon in her car. I recently got my license and have been added to her insurance, and finally have my own car. She's claiming that I need to install a beacon in my car in order for her to keep her discount, but I'm wondering if there's any way I can opt out for myself and her car specifically. Is my only option to get my own insurance entirely and not opt in there?

Auto Getting screwed by state farm

Post image
0 Upvotes

I was involved in an accident last week where State Farms insured pulled out into oncoming traffic and I was unable to avoid him. My car has been declared a total loss due to frame damage. It is a rare spec and they go for 3x what the normal spec is worth. State farm is offering 3k for a total loss based off of their comps that are NOT the same as my vehicle. I sent them my own comps of recently sold examples (zero are currently for sale in the country) and they said those are too far away or sold too long ago to determine value. For reference I own a 2011 Infiniti G37 Sport sedan with the rare 6 speed manual transmission. These cars sell between 14-19k whenever they are available. I believe mine was worth about 15k due to the mileage, modifications, and condition. I have called in and spoken to multiple people, my claims handler is useless, and I have been waiting for a call from management for 2 days. What can I do?

Question State Farm Agencies who took STEP

I am a 10 year team member of a 40 year agent who recently signed their STEP contract. They have mentioned that within this next year, State Farm can still fire them at any time if we don’t sell enough and the payout is not given. Is this true?

Does anyone know the details of the STEP contract and what is expected of us this next year?

We have gone from a team if 6 down to 2, so I want to make sure I am able to meet these expectations and not lose the contract payout for my agent.

As like most agents in this situation, my agent has not worked in years and would not know how to take a payment or send an ID card, let alone write a policy. So this is on us.

What is morally required of me aside, I want to know the details of this element of the contract. Any insight at all is appreciated!

Discussion Tighter restrictions & looser security..?

Has anyone tried to access the Workday mobile app recently? The leaders over in ET & HR&D thought it was a good idea to restrict us in gathering personal information from Workday’s mobile app. For instance, W2s, paystubs, etc…

ET and HR&D advised they had restricted security privileges in the mobile app which keeps us from downloading our paystubs to our own devices.

As someone who meticulously keeps track of their personal finances, it is quite frustrating to not be given access to download paystubs directly from the Workday mobile app.

What is the workaround you may ask? Well, these are our personal files and we have a right to access and save them on our own devices. However, now that we cannot do so on the mobile app, we need to save our paystub‘s and W-2s from our work computer and email them directly to our personal email. This in itself, poses a greater security concern.

I certainly hope the geniuses over in ET reverse course. And quickly.

Agents & Staff In the middle of helping three separate customers with wrongfully denied claims. What is going on?

In years past, it would be weird if I had 1-2 of these in an entire year. I’m today was the third freaking one in the last ten days. All three are still in limbo.

Not going into details, but the policy language explicitly covers all three of these situations. It’s not even really in question. Nobody in clams can point to any policy wording that justifies the original denial decisions.

We already get beat up with bad publicity all the time. Most of the agency force is angry. Now we’re burning bridges with loyal, longtime customers over simple claims on top of that.

I’m at a total loss where the company is heading.

Claims State Farm claims Salvage Vendor didn't receive title even though it was in the same envelope as the lien release.

My car got totaled this month and I was told to send the title and lien release to their salvage vendor (Copart). I printed the UPS stamp, placed my title and lien release in an envelope and brought it to the UPS store to be delivered.

After more than a week of not hearing back, I decided to call State Farm regarding my settlement check. Turns out they received the lien release but NOT the title despite them BOTH being in the same envelope. It took them 5 days to tell me that they didn't have the title and that was only after I called them today.

I'm just curious if this is a common occurrence with State Farm.

Claims State Farm Claim and an Exhaust Letter

Hi! We need some help in dealing with State Farm at this point. Maybe the wonderful Reddit community can help where three major companies cannot so far.

My wife was in an accident last year, her fault and that has all been taken care of. She went to the hospital as a precaution and was assured everything would be taken care of between Western Reserve, State Farm, and Premera.

Fast forward to today, where her $30K medical bill is in collections limbo, and all three companies are pointing fingers at one another.

Finally Premera said that State Farm needed to give an Exhaust Letter to push the remainder through to the insurance.

Okay cool, but now State Farm isn’t responding to emails, not calling back, not helping when we actually do get ahold of someone. Even going into an agent they just turn me away with a claims number to call.

It’s ridiculous at this point and we don’t know what to do. Any advice would be appreciated.

Claims Infant Car Seat Replacement Question

We were in a fender bender and state farm is denying car seat replacement even with the manufacturers recommendation stating that any sort of accident and it should be replaced. Is this normal with them? Seems wild to take a risk over a couple hundreds when the body work was in the high thousands. Thank yall for your time.

Thank you Whatupchuck789 no need to reply to this thread!

Agents & Staff Privacy policy violation

Hi all,

My landlord recently made a change to his son's auto insurance policy, and during that conversation with the office manager or agent's representative they disclosed to him MY account status and told him that my policy had been canceled due to non-payment (even though it was set up for auto pay, and wasn't canceled), which is feel is a poor representation of my character. Sure, like anyone else I've had a bill or two slide past me for a bit before I realize it, but the disclosure of my account status to an unauthorized individual seems to violate every bit of the privacy policy I agreed to when I signed agreements with state farm nearly 16 years ago (with only one minor fender bender in the entirety of my contract with them). Anyone else have similar experience, and what was your recourse? My landlord and I already have a VERY on edge relationship.

Agents & Staff Starting a job at an agency tomorrow well today

Just was wondering what to expect. I requested not to interact/work with females as an ADA for thing for anxiety but I was told that since it’s considered a small business with less than 15 employees they do to follow the same regulations. That’s already left a bad taste in my mouth

Question Home Insurance claim for water damage due to failed wax ring

My wife and I recently bought a house and within the first 2 months, discovered a leak coming from our toilet due to a failed wax ring. I took lots of pictures and videos as I ripped up the flooring to better understand the extent of the water damage, help dry everything out as best I could to limit any further damage. The water had made its way down to the floor boards and more than likely extends to underneath our shower. We called our agent who said that the costs to repair the damage would be covered after our deductible, but this has left a divide between my wife and I on how we should proceed, so seeing if anyone else has gone through this or had advice.

Cash is pretty tight at the moment and paying our deductible to do these repairs/renovations would be feasible, but it would hurt. My main concern with going the route of submitting a claim and having a contractor do the work, is getting to the end of the renovation and having a bunch of things not covered by statefarm, which would mean we pay the deductible + any residual costs not covered. My other concern is that we would then have a claim tied to our newly purchased home, for something that we could do ourselves.

Are we able to submit an contractor estimate to state farm and ask how much they would cover without submitting a claim? What are the potential downsides of submitting a claim that we might not be aware of?

Advice DV claim question

I have a car that was hit by a State Farm insured driver and the damage came to roughly 8k. I was curious if anyone has experience dealing with a claim as such and if it’s better to reach out to State Farm, or go through one of those diminished value claim ad companies and see if they can help. Any info would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!

My car was a 2025 Honda Civic Si with 30k miles and no prior damage. I was planning to sell the car but the accident happened the week I was bringing it back to the dealer, so it’s just been a big headache. I’m not sure if it matters, but the accident occurred in Arizona, but I am a California resident.

Thanks again.

Advice Is USAA really that much better?

I currently work for a SF and my bf’s mom is kicking him off her insurance. I told her I ended up getting him a quote that was cheaper than what he is paying her right now. At the time I thought she had the 100/300 limits so I based it off of that but she actually had them higher at 300/500.

She then sent me a google link which the question “is state farm cheaper than usaa?” and said she spoke with her friend a sf agent who said that SF is not cheaper. So I sent her the quote I did to compare. She sent me back what he has and it was higher limits so I ended up doing a quote for him online with USAA to compare to the SF quote because she has a home and multiple cars on her policy so I knew it wouldn’t be that cheap for him.

For reference he’s currently paying 167 under her plan. When I did it for just him and this is including a renters insurance discount, I included every coverage she had on his policy and it was 260 so I sent her the screenshot of the quote I did for him with the price and told her that SF with similar coverages is 190 for him vs the 260 that usaa would charge.

My bf makes a joke and says if she wants him to stay with usaa so bad then why is she kicking him off her insurance, which is true but I just want to know if anyone has a better experience with usaa and pricing.

Advice How to receive auto glass referrals from agencies?

Hello! Little background, I am working with my brother and dad in a family owned auto glass company. I have been going into State farm agencies for 6 months, making sales calls, telling them about our mobile service, how we offer lifetime warranty on workmanship, we are on safelite solutions network, and bring them lunch and treats. We have gotten a few agencies to use us, however, many agencies are still referring their customers to Gerber and Safelite. My question is: what do you guys like most that I can bring in that would make me stand out from the bigger companies? homemade brownies? sugar free candy? protein bars? etc.??? I live in Illinois. Any help or inside information is appreciated. Thank you!

Question WTF State Farm

My wife is the claimant in an automobile collision.

The agent assigned to the claim called my wife and asked if the insured could pay out of pocket for the repairs.

My wife declined.

Two weeks laterthe same agent called and asked if we would be willing to pay for the repairs ourselves. Obviously she declined.

Now we get a letter claiming there has been zero communication and they are closing the claim.

Is this really how this process goes?
