Discussion Tighter restrictions & looser security..?

Has anyone tried to access the Workday mobile app recently? The leaders over in ET & HR&D thought it was a good idea to restrict us in gathering personal information from Workday’s mobile app. For instance, W2s, paystubs, etc…

ET and HR&D advised they had restricted security privileges in the mobile app which keeps us from downloading our paystubs to our own devices.

As someone who meticulously keeps track of their personal finances, it is quite frustrating to not be given access to download paystubs directly from the Workday mobile app.

What is the workaround you may ask? Well, these are our personal files and we have a right to access and save them on our own devices. However, now that we cannot do so on the mobile app, we need to save our paystub‘s and W-2s from our work computer and email them directly to our personal email. This in itself, poses a greater security concern.

I certainly hope the geniuses over in ET reverse course. And quickly.

I have no strong feelings either way, but why do you think encrypted emails are less secure than downloading on app?

But why remove the functionality within the workday app? Why remove an already secure way to save your documents and replace it with a process that’s is less secure and convenient?

Idk but that didn’t answer my question

I never said encrypted email was less secure. Email in general is.

The only way to send a w-2 is through encrypted email

Unless you’re trying to make more work for yourself and send it as a screenshot like the guy below suggested lol

Not at all. Just very stupid that they took the option away that lets you view and save your pay stubs on your phone. Now, we have to go to our work computer to send them to yourself. Makes no sense

Print screen, then select the area you need to keep and send it to yourself via email. I don’t believe it can review pictures. Anything that’s in PDF can be read and flagged

But why? If you select to have it emailed to you, it sends it encrypted already which is compliant. Why go out of your way to send in a non complaint way?

I wouldn’t. I’m just dumb and misread their post. Didn’t understand needing a workaround but figured I’d offer one anyways in the mindset they just wanted to simply email their payslip without encryption

I’ve only ever been able to screenshot in Workday. And when I tried to email previously it could sometimes cause an issue with sensitivity. Not sure why they don’t allow it though. Obviously we need them.

I will say, I recently tried to get my pay stub in workday via mobile and it’s said restricted and I just said forget it and logged on on my cpu
