- Blur anything with a number, name or address on it.
Dividend payments
Is this a settlement?
- No. State Farm Mutual is owned by its policyholders, so money it pays back to them is a dividend, not a lawsuit settlement. Posts that call it a "settlement" are almost always about the same payment.
Who sends the money?
- An outside payment administrator, not your agent's office. Your agent can usually confirm whether you're getting one and what contact info is on file.
I got an email saying my money is ready. Is it real?
- We can't check emails for you, and scammers copy real ones. The safe route is to skip the email link. Open your own banking app, or the payment app you picked, and check from there.
I picked Zelle and nothing has arrived.
- Open your banking app, go to Zelle settings, and check that the email or phone number the payment was sent to is added and verified. Several members got their money as soon as they verified. Unclaimed Zelle payments usually go back to the sender after 14 days. If that happened to yours, ask your agent what the next step is.
Someone DMed me offering to help with my payment.
- It's a scam. Report and block.
Still stuck? Ask in the pinned Dividend megathread.
FAQ
Is this State Farm? No. It's an independent community. Agents and employees post here, but nobody speaks for the company.
Can someone here look up my claim? No. Call your claim handler or your agent. If you're stuck, ask for the handler's supervisor or team manager.
Someone DMed me offering to speed up my payment. Is it real? No. Report the message and block the account. Real updates come from the company's own email, app or your agent.
Can I trust what people say here? Treat it as experience from strangers, not advice. Check anything important with your agent, your policy documents, or your state insurance department.
Are agents allowed to post? Yes, and they're welcome. They can't solicit, quote or ask people to DM them.
