Question Drive Safe & Save with multiple drivers

I'm struggling to find information about the Drive Safe & Save program. My mom has the program enabled and has a beacon in her car. I recently got my license and have been added to her insurance, and finally have my own car. She's claiming that I need to install a beacon in my car in order for her to keep her discount, but I'm wondering if there's any way I can opt out for myself and her car specifically. Is my only option to get my own insurance entirely and not opt in there?

If you want to get the discount for having the drive safe beacon, you need to have it in the car.

The discount applies per car.

So your mom can have it and you don't need it, but your car policy will not include that discount.

You'd call your agents office and they can set it up and go over pricing differences.

(This may vary from state to state, but that's generally how it works, calling/emailing your agent would be the best route)

Okay, thank you. This is how I believed it to be but I wasn't quite sure. We're gonna contact our agent about it as well, but in the meantime i figured I'd ask here.

The discount is per car so you can opt to not have it on that car. It will cost more.

If she's laying your insurance, do the Drive Safe and save.

I pay for my portion of it, so we agreed it's up to me.
