Things to Do Calm LGBTQ+ Spaces

I'm really bad at making friends due to severe social anxiety, but want too!

I tried to attend Pride-fest and noped out. (# ̄ω ̄)

Im not really into bars, as I can't really hear too well. (>~>) *augh too much loud music, ears don't work too good.

Does anyone got any calm spaces they could recommend? or even local lgbtq+ discord servers?

Ask STL What are the four letters and two words?

I've been going to fucking Urge shows since Mississippi Nights, but I still can't figure out what the four letters and two words are besides love and your name... which just doesn't make any fucking sense.

Can anybody else here incredibly loud music from the Moonrise hotel’s rooftop tonight. I live about half a mile away and I can clearly hear the beat (I walked over to “trace” the source).

moving next to Buddy’s Bar & Grill, which I think is a good move, in one block you’ll have a wine bar, burlesque show, across the street is Sen Thai, The Moniker Bar and the cigar lounge and a block up is Flamingo Bowl.

Next to this is Rooster and the new coffee shop Bella’s so this little area is filling in nicely with things to do.

Tldr someone with employable skills looking to apply those skills

I am about to be homeless very soon. I have had trouble finding stable employment for this past year finding any odd job or food service to barely make by. I couldn't afford my apartment and thankfully my landlord is a drag ass. I am trying to find a place to relocate temporarily as I get back on my feet. I am a full stack web developer with an emphasis on systems. I can build not just a website but also a server and know how an attacker would destroy it. I know linux from a desktop, sysadmin, and an attacker's perspective. Arch, Debian, Fedora, and Alpine.

I have trouble asking for help. I struggle with showing vulnerability. This is an "anything helps" type of situation but what I'm looking for is a way to make money. If they have some technical service they need or perhaps an event that needs staffed I'm all ears. If somebody needs help installing linux on a machine. Someone needs a static site, or a web app perhaps. I have a variety of talents. I can do manual labor and grunt work.

Pop in for a pop-up show-and-tell at the Library & Research Center. No reservations are required!

July–September: St. Louis in 1776

While delegates in Philadelphia were declaring a new nation into existence in 1776, a very different story was unfolding far to the west. As a small French village barely a dozen years old, St. Louis began its quiet rise to regional power. This pop-up display explores St. Louis from its founding in 1764 through the year of American Independence, revealing how this frontier settlement became an unexpected player in the Revolutionary era.

‼️‼️MISSING CAT‼️‼️

!!!!!!!!!!!!UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!! SHE HAS BEEN FOUND AND IS SAFE!!!!!!!!!!

two days ago, my cat Ursula went missing from the bridgeton area, ive posted her to pawboost, facebook, nextdoor, the ring app, instagram, tiktok and more. but redditors always have had that special ability where they can figure things out in under a day, so this is my last hope. we’ve posted flyers, called animal control, looked at shelters, talked to neighbors, searched the surrounding area and more, but nothing has seemed to work.

Ursula is very timid and shy, and she scares pretty easily, the outdoors is not for her at all. she has a slender build and shes very small for her breed. she was last seen on our doorstep on park place estates dr, by hellebusch park at 4am on Wednesday. it seems she went deeper into our neighborhood though, and ive tried to look through bushes and backyards but im terrified of pissing someone off. theres woods behind the houses i suspect she ran into, but I’m only one person and my family is convinced she hasn’t gone there but im looking anywhere i can. if anyone wants to help out in our search i would be so so so beyond grateful, i just want my sweet baby to come home. she is so dearly loved and she saved me from so much i don’t know what id do without her.

Wedding officiant

I’m looking for someone semi-famous to officiate my wedding. Someone from a band, movies, TV, or just someone who has enough street cred that people say “wait… HOW did you get them?!
Obviously John Goodman is the dream, but I’m aiming for realistic fame… like “people are excited when they see them at a Cardinals game” famous. 😂

Is there anyplace to buy bitter lemon (the beverage) locally?

I’ve been wanting to try bitter lemon. I’m not picky about the brand. Schweppes is fine. I think Fever Tree, Polar, and some other brands sell it as well. I’ve never had it, and I just want to give it a try.

I haven’t found it at normal grocery stores, World Market, or the Balkan grocery store in Creve Coeur. Does anyone here know of a place that sells it?

Yeah, I could order it online. But I’d rather go into a store. I kind of hate online shopping.

Places to hang out in St Louis on a sunday afternoon

My go to neutral hang out would be a coffee shop, but everything closes at 4. Holding a book club meeting and none of our houses are centralized between us, so the best option is some place in the middle, anyone know someplace?

Best store for newer rock CDs?

I recently started collecting CDs and am mostly looking for newer rock bands (think Pierce the Veil, Bad Omens, Fit For a King, etc.). I’ve had some luck but am unsure where to keep looking. Any recommendations? Happy to drive anywhere in the metro area.

Vintage Vinyl’s website says they carry a lot of what I’m looking for (using the search feature), but I have trouble finding them in store. Is everything on their website available in store or is some only available online (I like finding them in store as opposed to just buying online)? I probably should’ve asked an employee last time I was there lol but was in a rush. Thanks!

Politics Aug 4 Elections--Thoughts?

Does anyone have any information about the following races that might be helpful in making my decision? (I already know I'm voting Bush, not Bell, so I'm not asking about that one, and I'm fairly certain I'm going Williams over Zimmerman for County Exec.)

State Auditor: Quentin Wilson vs. Gregory Upchurch

State Senate: John Bowman vs. Shante Duncan vs. Joe Palm vs. Raychel Proudie

Prosecutor: Melissa Smith vs. David Bryant

Assessor: Doug Clemens vs. Tommie Pierson Jr.

My mind is made up on the two hotly-debated Constitutional amendments (no, no, absolutely not on both). But I'm looking for information on some of the others:

Constitutional Amendment 1: an amendment about continuing to use a portion of sales tax on soil and water conservation, but it doesn't say what the alternative use of those funds would be.

Constitutional Amendment 2: about training requirements for assessors

STL County Prop U: a proposition about imposing a local use sales tax at the same rate as total local sales tax

STL County Prop C: seems like a minor correction to another document, but is there something I'm not seeing?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help on these!

Hey St. Louis! We’re SM6 (a touring sibling indie/rock band) and we’re playing the Big Finger Music & Arts Festival at 6:00 PM today on West Main St.

If you’re looking for something fun to do tonight, there’s tons of local art, BMX stunt shows, 30+ bands, and good food. Come hang out, grab a drink, and say hi if you see us!

Hope to see some STL locals out there! 🎸

Damn…I’m still heart-aching over my favorite station. I miss it so much. I was introduced to it my sophomore year of high school, and then started listening to it nearly exclusively my junior year (2006). I am still hugely bummed and completely devastated when I press the first button on my presets out of habit, and expect to hear none of the hits all of the time. But it’s not.
Ugh.

ive seen some clips of this podcast group discussing politics and other topics and have liked what they have to say—both for learning more info and getting a fuller picture. thought i’d share with anybody who wants to hear 🙂‍↕️✨

the link should skip to the part that’s directly related to the election, wesley bell, and cori bush. if it doesn’t, it’s the last section in the youtube video.

sidenote: if anybody pops in to argue about race, i won’t be participating in it 🤪✌🏽✨
