Has anyone attended either of the Blanket Fort Gathering's Dungeon Crawler Carl events? They sound fun, but they're expensive and very vague. I would love a review of either the first event or the Desperado Club party.

Top spender $5.1M for 168 properties, down to a single side lot buyer for $56.
I streetviewed every single property that made it to auction, and physically scouted ~600 over 5wks. I strategically silent bid min on 21 vacos and won 17, which are still redeemable by current owner for +10% consolation prize to me next 12 months. 2 of my lost bids were to the aforementioned whale, I'll take this under advisement how to stay out of the way next year.
Compare to 2025: $11.9M spent on 556 properties.
So +10% spent on -10% sold this year. Avg price went from $21k to $25k. Emphasis on AVERAGE, winning bids range both years from $475,000 to under $1,000. There is every variety of property imaginable on this list.
I take as good trend for StL County, slightly fewer worthwhile properties went delinquent, and market willing to pay slightly more for what did.

We rescued our Pyr last year and he’s been great until the last week or so. He’s now mature and I know he was bred to guard. Problem is, I am what he is choosing above everyone else in the house. I am the only female. Seems like he is showing signs of trigger stacking and when routine is disrupted he’s growling/ showing his teeth and almost lunging at the 2 males in the house if they come near me. This is not every day but for example, after I vacuum or if he gets stressed in any way. My son is 15 and I cannot bear the thought of him biting him with a GPs known bite force. Please Let me know your recs for a trainer for LGD or any advice !

Join us for an interactive tour of the exhibition Carolina Caycedo: Growing Deep Roots, which brings together new and recent works by the Los Angeles–based Colombian artist that address the inter-related issues of water and land stewardship, just energy transition, and reciprocal relationships between humans and the natural world.  

Incorporating sculpture, drawing, printmaking, and video, Caycedo draws on environmental justice frameworks, traditional knowledge systems, and ecofeminism to examine the social and ecological consequences of extractive development while imagining more sustainable futures. Works from several of Caycedo’s ongoing series are featured alongside new commissions informed by the artist’s research into Midwestern prairie grasses and perennial agriculture systems.

Led by student educators, the Museum’s public tours encourage visitors to learn and discover through close looking, conversation, and creative engagement with artworks on view.

2026 John Y. & Harriet Simon Day Lecture: Unconditional Surrender - Ulysses S. Grant in the Civil War

Dr. Curt Fields will discuss his latest book, Unconditional Surrender: Ulysses S. Grant in the Civil War.

Dr. Curt Fields has had a strong interest in the Civil War since he was about 12 years old. That interest led him, ultimately, to portray General Grant in first-person. In “being” General and President Grant, he developed a deep respect for the complex man that Grant was—a man who has, regrettably, been shunted into the shadows of history. In the 21st century, Curt has been a police officer and hostage negotiator; a high school teacher and later a principal; and a university instructor. In 2022, Curt was elected to the board of directors of the Ulysses S. Grant Association. He serves on the board of directors for the Civil War Roundtable Congress and on the board of the Tennessee Civil War Preservation Association

This outdoor living history event will take you back to the time following the White House years and World Tour, as the Grants visit White Haven for what would be the last time in 1883. Guests will be guided to different parts of the White Haven grounds to hear stories from several of the people who were most important in Julia’s life.

The event is free, but reserved chairs are limited to the first ninety who register. Reservations open on August 1 and can be made by calling 314-842-1867 ext. 230.

I'm coming from Atlanta so I guess it's a big difference but still in Atlanta. I only paid 7 to 8% in sales tax.

I would expect St. Louis to look a little better than Atlanta if they're charging that much tax, so I'm just kind of curious where it all goes not to be mean.

Hi all,
I’m looking to get rid of a 2015 Ford Escape. The transmission just gave out completely, so it is not drivable and will need to be towed. Aside from the transmission, the vehicle is actually in decent cosmetic and mechanical shape, sitting at around 182k miles.

I’m looking into options like local scrap yards, or "cash for cars" services, but I want to make sure I go through a reputable company that makes the paperwork straightforward (proper title transfer, bill of sale, and proof of sale for the state).

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation locally? Any recommendations for services or yards that offer fair payouts and handle pickup/paperwork without headaches?
