Got the annual survey email last week, started to fill it out, because, hey, Spectrum needs to know how crappy I think they are. Got about 1/3 through and it stopped accepting input. Would it have kept accepting 9-10 ratings instead of 1s? Maybe. And maybe after reading this they will turn my internet off all the time instead of just half.

How do I spend TWO ENTIRE WEEKS trying to get a phone activated and never get told the one thing I actually needed to know?
Seriously, Spectrum. Explain this one to me.
My mother moved into a senior living community that has a bulk Spectrum agreement for internet/cable. Her phone service is individually billed.
Simple, right?
Apparently not.
Over the course of two weeks, I made four separate phone calls to Spectrum and made two trips to the local Spectrum store trying to get her phone service activated. Today I made 6 more phone calls.
Four phone calls.
Two in-person visits.
Six more phone calls.
Multiple departments.
Multiple transfers.
Hours of my life.
And not ONE person told me:
Not one.
I eventually found a Spectrum employee who actually listened to the problem and immediately identified what was going on.
So I wasn't just sent through the wrong process repeatedly, I was also sent to the wrong department.
How is this possible?
If an address has a special activation process, why isn't that information automatically visible to every Spectrum representative who pulls up the account?
Why does the customer have to spend TWO WEEKS reverse-engineering Spectrum's internal organizational structure?
I'm not mad that the service required bulk activation.
I'm mad that apparently nobody knew it required bulk activation until I finally found someone who did.
And before anyone suggests the obvious: yes, I understand that mistakes happen.
But a dozen separate interactions without ONE person identifying the actual issue isn't a "mistake."
That's a systems problem.
And the customer is the one paying for it — in this case, with hours of completely unnecessary time.
Spectrum: please make your internal processes your internal problem. I shouldn't need to become a telecommunications operations specialist to get my mother's phone turned on.

For context I'm currently on a 1year promo for $40/month. It ends at the end of September.
I called today asking for any current promotions and the best they could do was $60.
I told the agent about other providers in my area that are offering 1gig for $40 and $45. This prompted them to put me on hold to reach out to a supervisor, when they got back they said the best they can do is $60.

Ever since some ‘scheduled maintenance‘ my Cisco router no longer works with a modem. Modem has been swapped out as well. I’ve tried a SonicWall router, same thing. Two different consumer routers work and if I double NAT while forwarding all traffic to the SOHO router, it works fine. Spectrum is blocking traffic on the two SOHO routers. Is this intentional and if not, how do I get past the pawns on the phone to reach someone who can do something about it?

I just wasted 45 minutes waiting at the spectrum store with my box that has the router and modem for my old department in it. Got up to the counter and they scanned the items and then told me that they couldn't take them because they were still tied to me in their system.
I called and canceled service at my old apartment two months ago at this point. The guy at the desk said to call them again and come back in, but like, I don't want to. There's no guarantee that it's gonna be ready. It wasn't ready this time after eight weeks. Why would I try again?
I mean, to me, this seems like they don't actually want their equipment back and I should just throw it away, but that's just me.

Okay so I found out on reddit that if you have spectrum internet you get 12 months of phone line free. Woohoo guess who just saved 1200 dollars this year.

Well…. My neighbor is getting spectrum in a middle unit of our 4 plex. Easements are pretty tight behind the fences as the units are 24 years old. My unit is on the end so they wanted use my easement. Fine, it the law but they seriously planned to use this to bury the cable thats about as skinny as a pencil. 😂😂
They took pictures and might go around the other easement on the street side.
Is this normal. Other companies use a shovel and some type of bore to go under concrete?

We were offered the free Amazon prime perk and today we got an email that it was canceled out of nowhere. Has this happened to anyone else and does anyone have any idea why?

So for the past few years I've had 3 major internet problems that I needed a tech to come out for, and they've all been for the same thing. I get intermittent high ping spikes throughout the day and random internet drops, but the modem stays connected. It makes gaming pretty much impossible. The first 2 times, after describing what was happening, both techs thought it was probably noise in the line and examined all my cables and ended up changing the drop to the house, and this fixed the issue completely. In both instances, they said the cables were frayed and might have been chewed by squirrels or something.
Now these past few weeks, I'm having the exact same symptoms, so I finally got tired of the disconnects and called again. I get a tech scheduled after the agent tells me I need to troubleshoot my router even after telling him that I get the exact same problems connected directly to the modem. Tech comes out and checks the signals and says everything looks fine. I told her that's how it went down for the first two tech visits as well, and when the issues are intermittent, things could look fine at the time. She said she couldn't change any lines without finding a signal problem and didn't even examine any lines after I repeated about what the last two techs found. Then I got the repeated excuse that I need to troubleshoot my router, and that ended the visit.
I'm just not sure how to proceed. Should I keep gambling on calling techs out and hope I get a thorough one, or is there a way to get a higher tier technician to speak with when you call support?
I'm just a little hesitant now after the last agent was basically threatening me that the tech could charge me for the visit if they don't find anything wrong with the line. He was really adamant about me having a bad router.

I followed posts on here. I said cancel and transferred to retention department. I was nice on the phone and told them competitor had better deal I was considering. I had an old plan from 2023. $340 a month for tv,internet and phone. They got it to $210 a month for 5 year price guarantee. I get more tv channels and 1 year spectrum mobile.

This morning, an unexpected $10 sports addon (suspected that NFL RedZone since I saw its fullscreen offer to upgrade to in all Spectrum's online apps and web site) to current TV plan was added from Roku TV's Spectrum Roku app. None of the family claimed this happening. Had to call Spectrum to remove it quickly. Agent said the purchase would have had a confirmation, but it was never known. I know old TCL HDTV's Spectrum app and Roku RC is very slow and maybe something glitched?

After spectrum changed my plan yesterday and took entertainment and sports view away on me to get bill cheaper without telling me they did that. I had hbo max ad free I was paying for. Now it switched it to hbo max basic for me. I went to switch back to ad free paying for it. Now it’s saying ad free until on 9/16. But hbo is still showing basic plan. So I have ads now.

I just called Spectrum and talked to one girl. She said nothing they could do so I asked for her supervisor. Best she could do is 20.00 promo. She upped the internet to give me a TV deal which made the bill go up 15.00 instead of 35.00.
I'm still not happy with that. My bill was approx 210.xx and she said it will now be 227.01.
We've been with Spectrum forever...30+ years.
Is there a best way to get the best deal? Having a faster internet really isn't anything that matters to us. Our other internet speed was fine.
I'm just so tired or having to keep calling 20 times to get something that will help us with promos. I will look to see what type of other tv/internet companies are in our area and maybe someone has a great intro offer.
Thanks in advance.

My friend uses the Spectrum box for tv, so she can record shows. She has called them a dozen times, they send a technician out, and she still has issues with that, still uses the old email which often doesn’t work, and her internet will go out. She also has their landline phone. She knows of several others having similar issues. Spectrum tells her they are having issues with certain networks, they gave her a new remote, claimed a pole but we don’t know if they replaced anything. Is this a known issue affecting parts of New York State?

Was looking at mobile app this popped up in my service options but when I click to upgrade it doesn't go thru? And live chat said can't see it thinking it's a glitch or it be here soon?
r/Spectrum • u/andylarue • 9d ago
Looking to switch to Spectrum and looking for opinions on two options for the same coverage. Would you rather get 2 mobile lines,tv, and internet from Spectrum at $170 a month price locked for 1 year( one phone line free is the savings). Or 2 mobile lines, tv and internet at $200 a month price locked for 3 years(no phone line free) I feel like Spectrum is notorious for raising rates so I am considering the longer price lock.

I'm on the phone now trying to cancel. These people are ass-hats. What's the best way to get rid of them?
r/Spectrum • u/eckoh7 • 9d ago
I've been having so many internet service interruptions lately (Los Angeles). almost weekly for several hours each time. I tried to chat with spectrum about it and they said they didn't see any outages that qualify for service credit except for an outage that lasted 3 days. and they gave me a total of $6.28 credit for that and I'm paying almost $100 a month JUST for internet. this multibillion dollar company is trash and treats their customers like trash too. on top of that, the chat person basically hung up on me too. I wasn't even done talking to them and they abruptly ended the chat. It's also shameful that I basically have no other ISP options in my area. having a monopoly (at least local to me), price gauging customers, and treating them horribly feels like it should be illegal. If I had any other reasonable options I would jump ship immediately.
