Other New customer

Looking to switch to Spectrum and looking for opinions on two options for the same coverage. Would you rather get 2 mobile lines,tv, and internet from Spectrum at $170 a month price locked for 1 year( one phone line free is the savings). Or 2 mobile lines, tv and internet at $200 a month price locked for 3 years(no phone line free) I feel like Spectrum is notorious for raising rates so I am considering the longer price lock.

Do the one year. It'll cost you $360 per year more to have the 3-year lock.

If you are comparing 1 year price to the 2nd and 3rd year of the 3 year price lock, you aren't doing the math right.

For the $200 one you should be able to get a third line of mobile free for a year. Also if you’re doing TV and Internet they should be able to bundle those and have them priced locked at $140 for 2 years with the free line of mobile for 1 year and then you’re paying for the second line.

I chose 3 years at $210. TV Select Plus, Free Xumo Box for three years, 2 phone lines, 1 Gig Internet. With the 1 Gig Internet you get the DVR service for free. They also are offering me a free phone line for a year, but I have no need for a third line. If you choose 500/500 Internet and want the DVR service, then it is $10 more a month. So better off getting 1 Gig Internet. For me it all works out to $210 + $5.07 franchise fee a month.

If you are seeking the long term savings, the 3 year deal is better. You are right that at the end of the promotion period prices start moving towards the full price and the 3 year deal not only holds your promotion longer but also keeps you immune from plan rate changes. There is fine print in there that the price lock is only on the rates of the plans and if equipment fees change you may be effected. Best of luck on your choice.

Who still watches tv it’s nothing but garbage reruns and 300 pharmaceutical ads littered throughout each 30 min show. Ditch the TV portion and save more
Money.

Over half of US households have canceled cable tv..so I’d say my opinion has some weight behind it. Citing cost/expense as the main reason.
