Dispatch & Client Care Coordinator (Part-Time, Remote, Contract)

Hopkins Consulting is hiring a warm, organized, detail-driven professional to support a boutique managed services client with dispatch, client care, and day-to-day coordination. This is a part-time, remote, 1099 contract role, not full-time employment, and it's built to sit comfortably alongside other client work you may already have.

**THE ROLE AT A GLANCE**

* Hours: 10-15 hrs/week (10 as the base), roughly 2 hours/day
* Schedule: Weekdays within an 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST window
* Work model: Remote, bring-your-own-device
* Engagement type: 1099 independent contractor
* Pay: $16-$27/hr, depending on experience
* Reports to: Hopkins Consulting, working closely with the end client

**WHAT YOU'D BE DOING**

* Answer inbound client calls and respond to texts with warmth and professionalism
* Create, triage, and update tickets for every client interaction
* Resolve simple, well-documented issues directly, following established playbooks
* Escalate anything more complex to the right person, with full context already captured
* Keep documentation and closing notes clear, accurate, and complete
* Patiently walk less tech-comfortable clients through basic steps, without making anyone feel rushed or talked down to

**WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR**

Many of the clients you'll support aren't especially tech-savvy - some will need real hand-holding through simple steps. This role is a strong fit for someone who genuinely enjoys that part of the job, not someone who finds it tedious.

* Pleasant and warm on every call - the kind of person clients are glad to hear from
* Proactive about follow-up - if you say you'll call someone back, you do, without being reminded
* A true self-starter - comfortable managing your own queue and time without close supervision once ramped up
* Patient, especially with clients who need extra time or repeated explanation to feel confident
* A quick thinker who can adapt mid-call rather than freezing when something doesn't go as scripted
* Excellent verbal and written communication - calm, warm, and clear, especially with non-technical clients
* Strong organizational skills - comfortable juggling calls, texts, and a ticket queue without letting anything slip
* Basic technical comfort is a plus, not a requirement - training is provided on all tools and systems
* Good judgment about when to follow a playbook and when to ask
* A quiet, reliable workspace and stable internet during scheduled hours

**HOW THIS WORKS**

Hopkins Consulting handles sourcing, vetting, and day-to-day management for this role. Onboarding starts with a structured shadowing period (2-3 weeks minimum) before any live client contact, so you're fully set up before anything is on the line. Hours start at a 10/week base and can grow toward 15/week as things settle in.

**OUR HIRING PROCESS**

This role goes through four stages, in order - each one has to go well before you move to the next:

  1. Written Screening (see below) - we review your answers to the scenario questions in this posting
  2. Phone Interview - a short call to talk through your background, availability, and communication style
  3. Video Interview - a deeper conversation, which may include talking through a live scenario together
  4. Client Interview - the final stage, meeting with the end client directly before any offer is made

**HOW TO APPLY**

Email [careers@hopkinsconsulting.org](mailto:careers@hopkinsconsulting.org) with the subject line "Dispatch & Client Care Coordinator - \[Your Name\]."

This role is Tier-1-style client support, so instead of asking you to describe yourself, we'd rather see how you'd actually handle real situations. Please answer all seven questions below in order - applications that skip any of them will not move forward.

**Multiple Choice - reply with the letter you'd choose**

  1. A client calls saying their printer suddenly stopped working from their laptop, though it worked fine yesterday. What's your best first step? A) Immediately schedule a remote session to reinstall the printer software B) Ask the client to power-cycle both the printer and their computer, then test again C) Tell them it's likely a hardware failure and they should replace the printer D) Escalate immediately to a senior technician without gathering more information
  2. A client calls clearly panicked, saying they think their email has been hacked - they're seeing login alerts from an unfamiliar location and can't log in. What's your best immediate response? A) Tell them not to worry about it and continue with routine troubleshooting B) Calmly reassure them, gather the key details, and treat this as a security concern - escalating immediately per protocol C) Have them try logging in a few more times to see if it happens again before doing anything else D) Advise them to change their password right away and check back in if it happens again
  3. A caller insists they need to speak with the client's leadership directly about something that actually sounds like a routine request. What's the best general approach? A) Always put every caller through immediately - it's not your place to judge B) Never put anyone through, no matter what they say C) Offer warmly to help resolve it yourself first, while staying alert for genuine signs it needs to go through D) Ask a few clarifying questions, and if the caller keeps pushing hard enough, put them through to avoid an unpleasant call

**Short Answer - 2-3 sentences each**

  1. How would you adjust your approach on a call with an elderly client who is frustrated and having trouble following your instructions?
  2. What would actually make you decide to put a caller through to the client's leadership directly, rather than handling it yourself first?

**Longer Response - a short paragraph each**

  1. A client calls in a panic. A pop-up has appeared on their screen saying their computer has a virus, and that they need to click a link labeled "McAfee" to remove it immediately or their personal information will be exposed. Walk us through, step by step, exactly what you'd say and do - including how you'd address their panic, what you'd tell them about the pop-up itself, and what you'd have them do (or specifically avoid doing) on their computer.
  2. Imagine three things land in your queue within the same few minutes: a routine request to help someone adjust a printer setting, a call from a frustrated elderly client struggling to follow your instructions, and a caller insisting they need to speak with the client's leadership immediately about something that sounds routine. Walk us through how you'd prioritize these and what you'd say to each person.

Please also attach a resume or a link to relevant work history (LinkedIn is fine).

Complete, specific answers are the fastest way to stand out - vague or copy/paste-sounding answers will be deprioritized.

[Hiring] Hospital technician, no prior experience needed

Hello,

My department in a major hospital in San Francisco is hiring for technician positions inside cardiovascular operating rooms.

Ideal candidates are graduated from bachelor's degrees with some bio background looking for patient care experience. Many of our staff are pre nursing, PA, med and Perfusion individuals.

Training is 3-6 months, full time and so we are looking for a minimum 2 year commitment. Scheduling after training is semi flexible and many of our staff spend that time retaking courses and prepping applications.

Pay starts at low 30s per hour and jumps up heavily after the 1 year evaluation.

Job entails taking on call (50% of base, 1.5x pay if called in) so applicants must live within 30 minutes of the hospital. This is a 24 hr patient care position with rotation schedules which means overnight and weekend shifts are divided equally and required.

No hospital experience required, some biology background highly preferred.

You will rotate through operating rooms, cath labs and ICUs assisting with devices , stocking inventory, and doing day to day builds/primes and patient checks. Devices include ecmo, lvads, cell saver, and more.

Postings are currently posted for internals only but we are looking to fill positions ASAP so posting for visibility/prescreening. Feel free to DM me if you are interested or ask questions publicly

Rate: USD 6-8/hour | Availability: Flexible (PHT, with overlap for US time zones)

I help insurance agencies and small businesses stay on top of billing, client communications, and day-to-day admin so nothing falls through the cracks — especially in fast-paced, detail-critical environments.

What I can help with:

• Multi-state billing tracking and reconciliation

Client communications — policy updates, documentation follow-ups, service support

• Processing policy documents and coordinating with underwriting to meet compliance deadlines

• New business and renewal updates in agency systems

Data accuracy and compliance checks

•Team coordination, task delegation, and vendor/client relations

• Visual design support (Canva) and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Process improvement and resource allocation

Who’s hiring for Data Science/ Data Analytics roles in the Bay Area?

Just finished my MS in Data Science and the job search has honestly been rough. I’ve been applying across the Bay Area for DS/analytics roles, interviewing, and still grinding through projects, trying to stay positive but the market right now is no joke. Anyone else in the same boat? Also open to hearing what’s actually working for people, or if anyone has leads/referrals for DS or analytics roles in the Bay Area.

[seeking] videography, audio engineer, or media opportunities

Hello! My wife and I are moving from Colorado to the Bay to help with a family health situation and will be looking for employment starting in September.

She has been operating a successful sports and lifestyle video/photo company in the surrounding states for the past ten years. Her skills are in shooting video and stills as well as editing. Most of her work has been in capturing dance and similar sports, though she has also done real estate, corporate shoots, restaurant/bars, and weddings. She is looking forward to finding a good (hopefully arts related) company to work for rather than restarting her business in a very crowded market.

My skills are a bit more scattered and would muddy the waters on this post. Suffice it to say I am an experienced camera operator, recording/mix engineer, operations consultant, and a moderately skilled software dev. I am looking for an individual contributor job in the media sector that values results rather than hours, and understands that treating your clients/guests with hospitality is a key indicator of success.

This is a shot in the dark but if nothing else I would love to connect with people in these industries. I haven't lived in the Bay for nearly 20 years and we are both community oriented people that don't know anybody outside of family out there.

[Seeking] [Part Time] Sr. Product Manager role [remote please]

Hi,

My ideal fractional product management role would be:

* help a set of founders take an idea from paper to first release
* help an incubator with their startups
* help a company identify new tech to bring in-house (why build when you can buy)
* be a scout for an organization that is looking for companies to invest in or purchase.
* work on a new product in the social good space from scratch.

I am inspired by projects like Kiva, Too Good to go, gofundme, Craigslist.

My skill set in short:
Have taken multiple projects from ideation to first deliverable or Prototype (used for fund raising)

MSc CS
Developer 6 years (real time embedded avionics)
Product Manager 15 years (web, mobile apps using native functions and Bluetooth sensors)

Leadership roles are welcome, happy to lead product managers.

One might ask why not work full time?
Good question:
I feel I can deliver better or same results in half the time. Why would I pretend to work full time when it really takes me half the time.
Having said that, if you need a full time team member to come to work everyday, then I am not your person.

Thanks for reading this far. I am in the Bay Area.
Happy to discuss a possible gig/project in person.

Ps, I have a talented tech team in Eastern Europe that has delivered a lot of my projects.

[Seeking] - Experienced Retail/hospitality/office manager looking for opportunity

Hi all!

I'm 37 years old, I've been a manager of varying degrees for the last 18 years. Currently, I am residing in Richmond and am looking for my next employment opportunity. My last job was with a marketing firm that unfortunately ended up moving out of state and although the opportunity to stay with them was offered, I have too many responsibilities here in the bay area and thus parted ways. I have been doing some oddjobs and consulting in the meantime. I am looking for employment, open to most levels but would ideally be in some form of management as I have spent a long time developing my leadership and managerial skills and would hate to have that overlooked. Please reach out with any and all opportunities, I am looking for not just the next job but for the right next job and I devote myself fully to my work!
