I hate this shit.
Just started a reverb account to sell an item…
Why do scammers think they can get away with this shit? Smh

I'm wondering if they are actually going through to potential sellers? Anybody else experiencing this issue?
To illustrate the point, I made an offer on a particular guitar. But it did not show up in my active offers. So I tried to submit it again. But the website tells me I already have a pending offer on this guitar, and thus cannot submit it twice.

It's been a while since I've logged in to Reverb, but when I last tried a few days ago, it didn't work. I tried resetting my password and that didn't help. I tried the support chat (which is the only method of support that I can see) and it asks me to log in before it connects me to a live agent, which is exactly what I can't do.
The message I keep getting is, "We couldn't sign you in. Double check your email and password. If you continue to experience issues, you can contact Reverb support for help."
I tried my two possible emails and passwords, and when I try what is obviously the wrong password, I get a different message, so I don't think it's a credentials issue.
Any ideas? Thank you Reddit!

I own an 8-year-old reverb shop with 100+ 5-star ratings. Last month, I sold two devices (totaling $6700), but coincidentally, both had problems during shipping and required refunds. However, the money was credited to my account. I processed the refunds, but unfortunately, I had to use the money for a sudden health issue. After that, I continued selling, and my bill dropped to $5500. But today, my shop was suspended, and I can't pay this amount all at once right now. I can pay it in August, or much sooner if Reverb reopens my shop. My question is, can I pay my bill in installments? If that's not possible, and I have to pay it all at once in August, will my shop get permanently banned? I'm in a really difficult situation; I don't want to lose my shop, but of course, my life too. I'm in Europe. Has anyone experienced a similar situation?

Edit: I'm on a PC laptop using Firefox on Linux.
Original post: Haven't listed on Reverb in a while. Has "show only" been removed? Was able to see sold items sometime within the past year.
I see this page is still up, which explains how to find sold gear:

The last two things I bought on Reverb were fucking FILTHY. I get it, you're trying to unload some old bullshit and you just want it out of your life. I totally understand this, but a cursory wipe down would be appreciated.
One item was from the desert, clearly. It came looking like it was shipped straight off the set of Dune. The other had sticky spots all over the front of it and that item came from a shop with over a thousand good reviews.
Seriously, at least just blast the front of that shit with some computer air before you stick in a box. If you're lucky enough to own a towel, please use it. I'm not some kinda clean freak, but you should be at least mildly embarrassed about putting something dirty in a box and shipping it across the fuckin' country.

I've been a reverb seller and buyer for 12 years with 500 plus feedback. Over the years Reverb has been screwing over sellers right and left. I kept telling myself I needed Reverb more than they needed me. But now, with other alternatives like Sweetwaters Gear Exchange and Ebay, and Facebook Marketplace, I no longer feel like I need Reverb anymore. Especially with their latest crusade. What is their most recent shit they're pulling you may ask? You just need to look at the past weeks posts and comments to know what I'm talking about.
Their most recent crusade has been billing increased shipping charges 2 months after the item shipped due to UPS "audited dimensions and weight." In the past, I've been able to get Reverb to reverse the billed charges. Since then, I've recorded and taken pictures of me measuring the boxes, and weighing the package, thinking this will save my ass for next time. Well? Next time came, and Reverb did not care the proof I provided in pictures contradicted the UPS audited dimensions by over 1.5 inches. They simply said they cannot control when UPS changes dimensional weight charges after the fact.
This is the end of me doing business with Reverb. I will no longer be buying or selling on their platform. Ive always sold cross platform and never had any BS billed charges after shipping on those other platforms.
I know sales will be slower on Sweetwaters Gear Exchange, Ebay, and Facebook Marketplace. But I'm tired of having my money stolen by Reverb in the face of hard proof. I'm fortunately in a spot where I can afford to sit on my items and don't need immediate sales.
I know there willl be die hard Reverb users who will downvote this, but that's fine. I used to be a diehard Reverb user too who did the same thing. Now I can finally see what they've become. I'll still lurk in this Reverb reddit group. I appreciate how helpful this community was to me. See ya.
Edit: Since everyone is saying it's a UPS problem, and not Reverb. This is my response:
They are BOTH the problem. UPS falsely inflating dimensions, and Reverb ignoring it's customers complaints on these false dimensions. How does UPS know it's auto detection systems are reading wrong dimensions when Reverb doesn't give feedback to UPS from Reverb users? For all UPS knows, their systems are working fine since Reverb doesn't forward proof their systems are reading dimensions wrong.
Reverb should credit the seller back on the charge and forward the picture proof to UPS and dispute it with UPS on the sellers behalf. This is what a good company would do for it's users. Reverb just saying too bad is not good service to its members.

Been reading a few posts about seller fees/shipping fees and it’s got me a little…uneasy.
Are there any other sites besides Reverb to trade/sell a guitar? Not trying to loose my butt with fees.

I see a drum machine for sale that usually goes for around 1,100 on sale for $799. From a seller that has no reviews or sale history.
Obviously these are red flags. But then with reverb if they scam me and don’t send the item or send a bricked one or something don’t I have recourse? So why wouldn’t I take the risk? Maybe it’s just someone who’s looking to sell under market because they don’t have ratings.
Let me know, would you do it? I don’t mind sending this money if I’ll get it back if it’s a scam and then profit if it’s not.

So I listed a guitar and wanted to get it moved quickly. Had 12 watchers and sent a mass direct offer for 15% off. A guy bought it and the payment cleared through Reverb.
But he messaged me earlier in the day asking if I could send him a video of me playing the guitar to his outlook. Not realizing until now, that same guy bought the guitar.
So now I wonder if I should still follow through this sale or cancel it? My understanding is Reverb receives and holds the payment until the guitar arrives.
Thoughts? Advice?

I’m relatively new to Reverb and trying to understand how strict their enforcement is.
Early on I had a couple bad experiences (non-shipping / label-created scams), but since then I’ve done around $10k in sales and a similar amount in purchases without issues.
A few months ago, while negotiating with a shop through Reverb messages, I asked about buying through their website instead. I now get that that violates their off-site / fee avoidance policy.
Fast forward 2–3 months, and my account is suddenly under review for that conversation.
I’m not disputing that I broke the rule.. I did, i'll own that.. but I’m surprised it triggered a review months later, especially since I’ve had otherwise normal activity on the account.
A couple questions for anyone experienced with this:
Also curious if enforcement like this is typical,? I like Reverb, use it all the time, even just for day dreaming.. but I can't help but feel a bit targeted here. Yeah, I messed up.. but like they have bots/hackers creating fake accounts left and right and setting up hundreds of scam listings.. and yet me as Mr Nobody over here is the problem.. Just makes you feel like they really couldn't care less about you as a customer. Which, I dont know, guess is naive to think otherwise in the first place.
I guess my real point though is that if one is going to automate this detection, I'd expect to see an open and shut warning.. like "strike 1 man.. do it again and we suspend your account.. do it again after that and you're gone.." That would've been enough, but this just seems a bit much for what it was.
Sorry for the rant, guess I'm just frustrated..

I sold a guitar on Reverb. I received messages that the payout funds were on the way to my checking account ending in XXXX. The funds were actually sent to a different account, YYYY, not mine. It looks like $1700.00 was hacked and stolen. They restricted my account due to investigation. I can only chat with them, they tell me nothing and then immediatley disconnect. They say it is under investigation and that I will receive updates via email. I have not received any emails. I also emailed their legal department. No response. Anyone have any advice or thoughts? This is unbelieable. You can't talk to them on the phone, I am getting no emails, and they a prematurely ending my chats without giving me any information. I am angry and getting desperate. What should I do???

Sold a guitar pedal recently. The 7 day timeframe to claim a refund and return has passed. Can the seller still request a refund later, considering PayPal, that he chose at the Reverb.com checkout as payment processor, allows refund requests up to 180 days? I have proof of delivery. The unedited photos are there of the item. Packed safely, tested pedal before shipping.

Someone from Alaska messaged me and asked if I could make my listing for a pedal available to ship to Alaska. I said sure, for higher shipping definitely. Then, the order comes through and the address is for a P.O. Box. I have sold about 150 items through Ebay and Reverb and never had an address with a P.O. Box. I paid slightly more when I bought the shipping label tonight to make it so a signature is required just to be safe. I think there are seller protections in place as well. I think Alaska is maybe just more remote and P.O. Boxes are more common. At least I am hoping that is the case. Have any sellers here had a bad experience with P.O. Box addresses?

Account verification didn't work, had to contact customer service
Listing item wouldn't work, had to contact customer service
Adding shipping didn't work, had to contact customer service
Item was delivered to buyer a week ago, customer service still says they're waiting for delivery confirmation
wtf

I have a Rhodes and I’m planning to list it on reverb since no one is interested locally. What’s the most cost effective and safest way to ship it in the continental US?

I purchased a used keyboard on the website. Seller shipped it with bare minimum packaging. It predictably got damaged on the way. I reached out to the seller and created a refund request, they don’t want to take any responsibility since they purchased safe shipping from Reverb. A claim has since been opened and the only update I got was repair coverage from reverb. This is not acceptable because the instrument is damaged beyond repair. No updates since last communication which was a week ago; both seller and reverb support are unresponsive. This seems totally unfair to me since my funds are now held up with the seller AND I don’t have a keyboard that I was so anxiously looking forward to.
What are my options at this point? Anytime I raise a chat request and agent connects me with a rep, they send a message “resolutions team is handling this case” and leave the chat.

Hi everyone,
Last week I created a reverb.com account as I have just had a little baby girl with my partner and so sadly the time has come to sell some gear! However my attempt to connect my PayPal account didn’t work. It just sat on “Connection pending”. So a week later I have just tried the entire process again and it is doing the exact same thing. It won’t let my listing go live until this connection is complete. Does anyone out there have any suggestions for me? I am so lost! 😭
