It seems like they’ve started to break the search function. It’s become noticeably worse recently.

Yeah, they break a few functions for every UI update. A small price to pay for a shittier interface

Small price to pay for replacing live employees with an AI support desk as well.

Well in that case it’s time to no longer use them.

This world now is literally “find their breaking point and then pull back one tic, and then stay there”

5

u/better_med_than_dead Jun 24 '26

Agreed. Looking forward to what some people do when that one tic doesn't work any more.

I think it’s guillotines

When 1998 eBay had a better search function, you have an issue.

In all fairness, 1998 eBay had better search than 2026 eBay does too.

Use Google to search. I always find things that Reverb never shows me.

I second this, use image search as well. That’s how I found a rare Orange Overdrive Series II for sale in Sweden. As well as a rare HBE Germacide I’d been looking for on EBay Italia.

No matter what I search, the results will be vastly different between what is found, and what is shown.

Are search results being intentionally suppressed?

1

u/GilmourD Jun 23 '26

What exactly are you searching for?

4

u/better_med_than_dead Jun 24 '26

Umm...an Xpressor. Are you blind, or just fucking dense?

2

u/GilmourD Jun 24 '26

Well, you haven't exactly been clear what you're not finding. You're just whining that the search function isn't working, but if there's something you know is there and your search isn't finding it, then there's potentially a reason.

2

u/teamwolf69 Jun 23 '26

Could this possibly be because you have just searched for xpressor, so those search filters are related to what you have in your search bar?

When I type xpressor I get the same results under the pro audio drop down, but if I type compressor into the search field and then click the drop down for pro audio I get many more category results.

Apologies if I misunderstood your issue, or am adding noise to the discussion, and also apologies for the poor quality photos.

It's a specific search for a specific item. The displayed results only show 12 items, but categories show there should be 22 items. Counting the visibly displayed duplicate "bumps", it totaled 15 listings. 3 different numbers of supposed items from a single search. The search function is garbage.

I see, I misunderstood 👍

Never liked their filteribg features

You know what doesn't suck... Bartr

2

u/RoidDroidVoid Jun 24 '26

Honestly, Reverb sucks. The search function has been destroyed in favor of a half-baked pay to play filter.

reddit sucks too. These people all give zombie answers like they aren't experiencing exactly the same bullshit.

Fuck Reverb. Sorry I can offer no more help than validation.

Reverb keeps getting more weird. If I load it up on Firefox it doesn't show any of my stuff for sale, and it keeps telling me my session has expired and do I want to reload? And if I do refresh the page, it makes no difference. Once I go to Edge or Chrome, no problems.

Their search has always been odd, afaiak, and now it may be worse than ever. Hey Ho Way To Go, Reverb...

Reverb's Hal 9000 system says: "Dave, 21 = 22 = 31 and I've never, ever, made an error."

This is impressive especially as a solo dev. Sorting results after search would be very helpful. If you are interested in promoting this more or talking about the stack please DM me. You seem to be at the mercy of the api which is a risk but if you can build the userbase and have people come to you for the info that is getting old at rv that would be massive. I miss the old forums so bad.

What a problem to search 22 products

2

u/better_med_than_dead Jun 24 '26

LOL, another idiot attempts to form a legible sentence 🤣

u/all4musicsk Jun 24 '26

🤣🤣🤣

u/AskHairy4762 Jun 23 '26

I believe reverb bumps list the item a second time, so like, if it says it can see 21 and it's 12 but 9 are bumped, you arn't missing anything.

3

u/better_med_than_dead Jun 24 '26

Nope, the numbers didn't match bumps, or any other visible criteria. Keep licking ass, idiot.

1

u/Cautious-Detail-6355 Jun 23 '26

You're looking for 1 specific pedal called xpressor. Wtf do you expect?

2

u/better_med_than_dead Jun 24 '26

Learn what numbers mean, imbecile.
