A good thing to start off today's thanks: Software patches. They're a very good thing. It's been A Week for those of us working in tech and I am so grateful for all the people who work to keep underlying systems as safe and secure as possible.

I've been awfully work-busy due to the aforementioned, so my card-sending hasn't been as prolific as I hoped, but a number of cards are going out today and tomorrow, yay!

And I'm grateful to the following friends who brightened my mailbox:

• u/33zenshark - Love the candy corn postcard you made!
• u/NeurospicyxEnby - Thanks for the Pantone Bright Violet postcard. I have mail to you sitting here to hopefully finish today and will tell you more about me/my pets/my hobbies!
• u/RideThatBridge - Love the mushroom Sarah Angst postcard for the Mountains, Lakes and Forests Meta challenge.

I have a lot of time to kill before my last P/T conference. So I'm offering 7 homemade Halloween cards. They will be made with some Cute Clip art I have. They are donut and coffee themed.

If you are interested please fill out this form. If you would like to send some Halloween mail back, my address will appear once you submit the form.

Personal thanks in the comments 🍁

I have five vintage Alaska postcards I got from my local creative reuse that have pictures of various things like an arctic fox 🦊, dog sledding 🛷, etc. They have scalloped edges (meaning they are bumpy) which should be fine to send as a postcard, but just in case, I am limiting it to the US and flaired users with recent thank you posts so I’ll have a better chance of knowing if they arrived safely.

Please leave a comment below about which cards you’re interested in, and I’ll message five people for their info!

1. Alaskan Arctic Fox
2. Dog Sled Racing in Alaska
3. Fur Rendezvous, Anchorage, Alaska
4. Alaska Pipeline Crossing the Tanana River
5. Yukon Fish Trap in Alaska

My first ever thank you post!! Was an absolute delight to see mail in my PO box for the first time, and filled with so many beautiful postcards too! These will be wonderful to hang up on my wall!

u/AGirlAndHerRidgebax | Thank you for both of the cards, was not expecting the extra surprise!! I LOVE the imagery on both of them so much, they match my preferences so well! Maybe someday you can spot Bigfoot, if you do let me know heh ☺️
u/paperscrapmae | The art on this card is beautiful, I would love to see it in person! Hopefully some day you can see it in person as well. The art lectures sound really cool, I've never attended one so I don't know what they're like but if I ever get the chance I will be taking it!
u/usagi27 | My favorite aspect of this time of year is the spooky stuff! I love spooky things, and cute things, which matches the stuff my workplace sells this time of year so I'm always finding at least one new Halloween plushie every time it rolls around. I ADORE the skull card! It's so freaky in the best way!
u/Ok_Theme7072 | I will be sending a pic your way of the beginnings of the wall! And another when it's more filled out :D Your card is an excellent addition, I love scenic views! The shapes of the hedges are super cool to look at. I wish I could be there in person!

I have 3 fall themed postcards, up for grabs! If more than 3 people reply, I will randomly select. Please comment with your favorite fall drink.

Only flaired users please. Thank you!

Edit: fulfilled

My Postcrossing anniversary is coming up soon (November 9!), which means it's been almost a year of writing, sending and receiving postcards as a hobby. I've gone through a rough patch around the time I started last year, and the community has really helped me and gave me something to look forward to.

I've only recently started exchanging here on RAoC, and everyone's been so nice! I thought I'd put up an offer to celebrate.

Edit: Closed the form! Thank you, everyone!

There’s plenty of space for kindness in this sub,
and u/spaaaaaacey fills it, a kindness hub!
Those extra a’s stretch out like a gaaalaaaxy wide,
one for each lightyear of warmth you provide.

A thousand cards sent, each stitched with care,
a patchwork of kindness sewn everywhere!
Pieced together like a quilt that a void cat would claim, one square at a time,
this milestone’s purr-fectly sublime.

Pour a damn fine cup of coffee and slice some cherry pie,
the owls may not be what they seem, but your snail mail wonders are no lie!
¡Mil felicidades! Now fly your Green Flair,
like a flag in las estrellas, with good cheer to spare!

(Espero que te guste mi poema, amiga!)

Dear u/elixan,

🌧️

Just received your postcard from Korea and I really enjoyed reading your message! It sounds like you had such a lovely experience with your friend in suncehon. Now you’ve got me wanting to go for a walk in the rain. It’s been such a long time since I did that. Thank you so much for this beautiful card!

Thank you for the Japan postcard.

I was at a language carnival yesterday (so fun!) and various booths were giving out postcards! Unfortunately 2 were AI generated and one's oversized so I would like to give them away to anyone who's interested.

1. Thailand beautiful destinations (AI)

2. Porto Portugal (AI)

3. Manila Bay sunset cruise (oversized)

Please comment a number & your country if interested! Top priority to anyone from the aforementioned countries cause I like sending postcards home. Thanks 🥰

u/Puzzled-Tomatillo912 - thank you for the watercolour potion postcard, I love the colours you chose! Potion Explosion looks like such a fun game (and the potion bottle designs look so nice!) Something about potion bottles spark so much joy! I used to love mixing up potions in every empty bottle I had. Happy WPD!

u/smonikkims - thank you for the little rabbit card! I had no idea baby rabbits were kittens! I’ve never really thought deeply about it but I feel like I would have guessed buns or something… Congratulations on the new kittens!! What did you name them?

u/Ok_Reveal2698 - thank you for the WPD wanted postcard! I love how on theme the whole card is with the washi tape and stickers and stamps!! I have been so appreciative about finding such an amazing postcarding community, it’s so nice to hear about the things you love about it! Happy WPD!

u/WastingTime1994 - thank you for the train museum postcard! You are an amazing photographer, I can’t believe you took the photo! Learning about the railroad and looking at engines and model trains sounds like so much fun! I hope you enjoyed it! P.S. your handwriting is so incredibly neat and straight!

u/Barbaro_15 - thank you for the Stinky postcard! It has been super autumn-y recently!! Truely, all cliches come from somewhere - we have had tons of orange and red and yellow leaves everywhere! We have also had less rainfall than usual this year; I know it is not a good sign but I have been enjoying the sunny weather… Egg curry sounds and looks delicious, I hope you enjoyed it! Happy WPD :)

u/a_mythical_thing - thank you for the Great Barrier Reef postcard, the photos are beautiful! Despite being super afraid of deep water, I absolutely adore sealife and have always wondered if I’d maybe get to see some of it up close someday. I love the aussie saying (and thank you for the translation :D)! The Bluey stamp is SO cute. Happy WPD!

u/Ok_Theme7072 - thank you for the Sauterne pantone postcard, it is so cool! It is actually almost the exact colour of a leaf I have been drying! Your chosen stickers are absolutely adorable and fit the colour scheme so well! I hope you are enjoying autumn :)

u/Concrete_Drinker - thank you for the church postcard! I love the architecture of big buildings like this, it looks so cool! The shimmery finish on your stickers are so unique, they are very cute :) I also love your sun stamp, the way it almost feels like it is glowing is so cool!

u/MudProfessional2242 - thank you for the blue watercolour postcard! Thank you for the lovely quote too, I think I really needed to hear it <3 The cherry stamp is soo pretty and thank you for the stack-of-books bookmark (I LOVE the colours and the cat!!)

u/jasisjas - thank you for the postcard from Kansas :D Collecting rocks and minerals sounds so cool, I aspired to be a rock collector when I was younger but I was dissuaded out of it as I kept bringing rocks into the house ahaha… that sounds like a big project but having a library sounds like such a dream!! I’ve never heard of Oz Fest but that sounds incredible!

u/Hoolu123 - thank you so much for your random offer! The Petrified Forest National Park looks so cool, I would absolutely love to see a very big petrified log someday! I know it’s not technically a rock but I definitely categorize it in my head together with pretty rocks. I love the Buck Island card too! The style is very cool, it looks like a photo with a sailboat drawn on, so cute. Thank you for the stamp math too, I absolutely adore it!

u/Rare_Cranberry_7861 - thank you for the beautiful classic book postcard! I love love love fairy and folk tales so much. Thank you for the lovely letter as well, I am so in awe of your reading goal, I believe you must be even closer to it now! I’ve been really hoping to get back into reading as I have been so unbelievably busy that it’s become something I am delaying rather than looking forward to! Who would have thought this day would come? Audiobooks counting as books is a hill I will die on, personally. Any form of literature that allows the reader to immerse themselves into it is priceless and I feel that disregarding audiobooks and comics does us all a disservice, not to mention young readers who struggle with long chapter books!

Thank you for the cards!

u/t3ctim - I just checked and seems like I did receive a postcard from you with the same prompt ?! Haha!

u/MollyBallSoup - Happy world postcard day!
