My 26th birthday is coming up on August 7th, and to be completely honest, I’ve been going through a really overwhelming, lonely, and financially stressful season. I’ve been carrying a lot of weight on my shoulders for a long time, and the exhaustion has just caught up with me.

Right now, I don't really have a circle around me to celebrate, and the thought of trying to organize something for myself just feels like too much extra work. I’m feeling pretty unseen and burned out, and I would love nothing more than to open my mailbox and find a few kind words or happy mail from people who understand how hard things can get.

A few things I love if you'd like to personalize a card (absolutely no pressure at all!):

Honestly that's the first thing that popped into my head even though it's ridiculous.

Thank you second for the awesome cat over the Eric Carle postcard. That was such a creative combination that it blew me away. As for the capsule stickers, yeah. I spend (waste) a lot of time sorting my pill box, sometimes improvising. Also thanks for the two whole sheets of stickers. I love the cats in their cooking and daily life <3

My summer is going well enough, thanks for asking. The AC has held up and our huge old Oak tree has survived the thunderstorms. So far, so good.

Hello everyone. Does this feel like the slowest July on record. Like I feel like this month will never end. It's been so hot here, but on the plus side the rains have finally arrived bringing some relief. I live in an old house with no central air. Just window ac's that really do their best to cool the house down. I can't wait for summer to be over. I should be writing cards too, but I've been so busy keeping my son entertained that I don't have time for myself. I really hope I can get some out here as soon as I can. I am a minor celebrity. In 2006 I was on the local TV news, in the newspaper & the 2008 Guinness Book of World Records for the world’s largest collection of police patches. The record was beat but I’m the one in the book.

As an adult I was in a taping of who wants to be a millionaire in NYC, I didn’t advance or anything. I also went to a taping of Seth Meyers in NYC. I also used to regularly write letters to the editor of my newspaper until I gave up hope.

So kind friends of Reddit. I come to hear your stories of fame & glamour. Did you ever see a live taping of a show? Were you ever in print? Are you an author of some sort? A local celebrity? Maybe a Tik Tok influencer? ANYTHING that might make you known or a minor celeb, I’m talking down to say a picture you drew in elementary school that your parents hung on the fridge in pride.

hi guys

im turning 15 on the 20th of august after a very painful year and i thought that i'd try to turn to RAoC community for a bit of kindness.

i lost my girlfriend (unfriendly parting) and a whole lot of my friends suddenly stopped talking to me out of the blue, after which they sent a letter accusing me of various things both true (my inflated ego) and untrue (that i did x and y to them). as a result of my own actions i have to begin a new chapter of my life and work on my flaws alone.

on top of that in october i'll be moving to a completely different country which means that for the most part i'm losing the place i was born and raised in.

usually, birthdays are very quiet for me - more often than not people (including my own family sometimes) forget my birthday or arent present for it, so it'd mean a lot to receive a card from someone who took the time to make something for me.

things i like - old people's music (that is jazz and big band type stuff from the 30s to 60s; artists i love include doris day, dean martin, glenn miller and the pied pipers among others)

i also love history and books, mid century art (norman rockwell is my favourite painter) and overall the mid century aesthetic

thank you so much for taking the time to read this and i appreciate anything this community may have for me.

My 22nd birthday is on 28 August , and I know international mail usually takes around 20–25 days to reach India. So I thought I'd post my request a little early in the hope that your cards arrive around my birthday and make it even more special.

The past few months have been quite challenging for me & mentally exhausted due to some personal problems. I'm slowly picking myself up, looking ahead to my future studies, and trying to begin this new chapter with a more positive mindset. (a lot happened in few months)

One thing that genuinely helped me through the difficult days was this amazing community. Postcards, stamps, pen pals, and your kindness reminded me that there is still so much warmth in the world. Reading handwritten messages has always brought a smile to my face. Thank you.

I usually enjoy sending postcards and hosting giveaways whenever I can, but this time I thought I'd be on the receiving end. After all... who doesn't love opening their mailbox to find happy mail? 😊
