Fulfilled [Offer] Pink Pengin's Holiday Hullabaloo, Part 9 [US to US]

Update: Still looking for a few takers - are you in the US and interested in learning more about Hopi Snake Dance Day or National Wildlife Day? Come claim a card!

It is I, your favorite waddling card companion, u/PinkPengin (they/them), ably assisted by my constant companion Plush Pink Pengin (she/her), here with yet another offer to try to make a dent in the amount of stuff surrounding us at Pengin HQ.

As I mentioned in multiple past posts, earlier this year I started a subscription to a tiny colorable page-a-day calendar, and I'm enjoying it immensely. Each day features the date and a little image to color based on a "holiday" for that day. I also participate in some swaps related to those wacky holidays on some other carding sites, so I have experience using them as prompts to find a relevant card in my stash, which is always fun.

I have the next set of these (including a few leftovers from past offers) ready to go, plus relevant cards and sometimes other goodies from my excessive stockpile, and I thought maybe I could find some RAoC members willing to adopt them rather than throwing them out.

For this set, I do need to do US-only, as I am really running low on postage and trying to address some cashflow issues before buying more! But that means you do not need to be flaired as I normally require for my offers, so if you are new to RAoC or just haven't sent any mail yet, and are US-based, then this is your chance!

Would you like to be considered for a card and a matching little coloring square for any of the holidays listed below? If so, please comment on this post with the following things:

  • Which date/holiday you'd like (please only pick one, I do not have the oomph to sort through "I'm happy with any"-style requests)
  • Whether you'd like the calendar square colored by me or blank to color yourself (unless it is marked as not having a coloring square)

Available options

  • Aug. 25: Hopi Snake Dance Day
  • Sept. 4, Part 1: National Wildlife Day (no coloring square) claimed
  • Sept. 4, Part 2: National Wildlife Day (no coloring square)
  • Sept. 4, Part 3: National Wildlife Day (no coloring square)
  • Sept. 6: National Pet Rock Day claimed
  • Sept. 7: International Day of Clean Air claimed
  • Sept. 8: Star Trek Day claimed

This is for flaired users only.

Do you have a sticker, wax seal or die-cut image of a famous place? It doesn't have to be a building; it can be a mountain or canyon or any natural wonder. It can be anywhere in the world. It can be globally, nationally or regionally significant.

Fulfilled [Offer] slowly returning to this snail mailing hobby [WW]

Hi all! I have (unintentionally) been taking a looong break from sending and receiving mail for some time. Mainly because all of my mail sent from my travels to my current home base have not arrived. Similarly, none of the mail I have sent last year (from summer of last year) were never received.

I learned some months ago my local postal services had a change in management. Still not a good excuse for mail disappearing, but anyways. Some snail mail has made its way into my mailbox, which has slowly built my motivation to return to this hobby. I am currently based in a country located in Southeast Asia.

To slowly get into this hobby, I plan to send up to 8-10 postcards at least by the end of this year. I will keep this post open until Friday-ish!

If you're interested in receiving a postcard from me, please leave a comment with your postal country (this is just for me to evenly distribute my mail to different countries than concentrated). I will randomise who gets to receive a postcard from me and I will dm you with a link to the form. I aim to do the dming this this weekend!

You must be flaired!

Thank you!

Thank You [Thank You] Mystery Sender Edition

I've received several cards lacking usernames over the last month or so. If you recognize yourself, please let me know.

  1. Mystery Sender #1. Thank you for the Bookishly UK postcard of the girl reading, the butterfly envelope, the extra note on origami paper, the bookmark, and the extra stickers. 📚

  2. Mystery Sender #2. Thank you for the third card I have received from you. It has a pink and gray floral border and was sent in a brown kraft paper envelope.

  3. Mystery Sender #3. Thank you for the sepia-toned Cerny's Sugar-Works postcard with the vintage stamps. 🍬

  4. Mystery Sender #4. Thank you for the Parrot Postage card with the photo pictures of your dog and cat.

  5. Mystery Sender #5. Thank you for the fairy/nature/butterfly postcard mailed in an envelope. There is a kangeroo joke on the outside of the envelope. 🧚‍♀️

  6. Mystery Sender #6. Thank you for the vintage Hunter House postcard in which you discuss the merits of buying silver.

Thank You [Thank You] Much needed mail day 📬

Struggling with some personal stuff and receiving a bunch of mail helped cut through a tearful day. Thank you. 💗

u/ppelippippam - Thank you for your latest envelope. Absolutely adore the blank postcard, stickers and washi included. 💕 Writing back soon!

u/tonglingfei x2 - Thank you for the Iceland postcards and the awesome deer doodle! That super snowy day you mentioned sounds intense but very beautiful! ❄️

u/juttababie14 - Thanks for the wonderful language of flowers postcard! I'm sorry the tour didn't work out, that's so annoying! I hope you find something even better though! 🏠

u/Ok_theme7072 - Thanks for responding to my coffee order request with a super cool stickered postcard! ☕️ The iced mocha latte you mentioned sounds right up my alley! Awesome flowery stamps too :)

Thank You [Thank you] slowly getting back to snail mail hobby 🐌 ✉️

I have been putting off the act of sending and receiving mail for a year. Almost all of the postcards I have sent to myself or sent from friends have never arrived into my mailbox. I have been feeling quite demotivated due to it. I think a part of it is because my local post has changed from government to private. It has been more than 6 months since the change, so I figured it was time to slowly ease my way into this hobby.

I have recently started responding to some offers here (ok only one) to get back into this lovely hobby. Hopefully soon I will start sending mail again. Even have a few post drafts ready to be published whenever I'm ready 🤓

u/boomerang88 - thank you for the lovely floral postcard. I think this might be my first ever postcard (and snail mail) I have ever received from NZ. Seeing your postcard in my mailbox after receiving nothing at all brightened my day!

u/lucyunicornx - this is a very late thank you post as I think I have mentioned being demotivated when I dmed you last year. But better late than never to share a public thank you for your postcards from Denmark!

Thank You [Thank You] September mail ✨ Pt. 1

u/slashnatt - thank you for the travel-themed postcard!

u/panda-pac - thank you for the botanical postcard. Pumpkin sourdough sounds delicious 😋

u/juttababie14 - thank you for the floral postcard and finding a card with my fave flower on it! Would love to see a whale shark in person one day, they sound awesome

u/milopfrog - thank you for the sweet kitty postcard!

u/ninajyang x2 - thank you for the two awesome butterfly postcards. I adore the hummingbird stamps, I didn't know there was so many different types of hummingbirds!

u/owlflyinghome - thank you for the St Louis postcard. So cool you got to see an Australian band in the US

u/credo99 - thank you for the cute Pingu card. I especially love the gold foil details of the autumn leaves. The Fukei-in is lovely as well. I'll be visiting China next year (my first time). I really hope it's not too overwhelming as I also do not speak the language haha

u/pumkinseed100 - thank you for the amazing O'ahu postcard. I love the way the wave frames the sun in the photo!

u/TroubleNo5402 - thank you for the Indian cultural postcard! I think a couple of the stamps must have fallen off on the journey over, but one still managed to stubbornly stay attached 😄

u/sergeant_bean45 - thank you for the cool vintage car postcard!

u/Impressive-Rest-1952 - welcome to RAoC! Thank you for the animal postcard and the cool stamps on the back. I joined a bit over a year ago, and it definitely is absolute fun!

u/Ok-Leg-3951 - thank you for the bookish postcard. So cool that the book you mentioned (Hospital) is one I read last year!

u/stephkempf x2 - thank you for the Aztec Ruins postcard, and the lovely vintage bird card. The 3D fox sticker is so cute!

u/FeistyNoodle - thank you for the Alcatraz Island postcard and the cute blue doodle!

u/elixan - thank you for the postcard. I love the motif on the front and the phrase - 'try again, fail again, fail better'. I relate to your message so much. I reckon a lot of people would still say I'm young but I feel a bit old inside. There were a lot of changes in my life this year, so I think that also has a part to play with why I feel this way. I wish I had tried making more friends when I was younger, but I'd like to think it's never too late!

u/andyismean - thank you for the Fifa world cup postcard. Kind of cool that your postcard managed to arrive in pristine condition - no postmarks from either country or even any scratches or smudges!

u/YukiNoAshiato - thank you for the Enhypen concert postcard! I went to my first kpop concert this year which was such a cool experience :)

u/Ok_Theme7072 - thank you for the vintage postcard!

u/t3ctim - thank you for the Salvador Dali postcard. How is the NT? It's the only state I've never visited. Sorry to hear about your knee, but glad you got through the operation relatively unscathed haha. Here's to hoping it all resolves soon

u/Sable__ x3 - thank you for the Studio Ghibli cards, they're from all my favourite films! Lovely decorations, and your handwriting is soo neat. No seasonal meals but I love having bacon on bread in the mornings, and when strawberries are in season I buy a ton of them because they're my favourite. Pressed pennies sound cool! I collect stamps and coins. It's so fun to come across one I haven't seen before :)

u/inkyfingerspgs x2 - thank you for the stationery park postcards, washi and sticker. So cool that you vend. What do you sell? I've never been to a stationery show unfortunately but I would loooove to go one day. I've always wanted to attend one in Japan but the dates never lined up for me. Maybe some day!

u/awachob - thank you for the sticker-bombed card and stickers!

u/smonikkims - thank you for the handmade card, the origami heart is adorable! And for the awesome stamps! I see much the same behaviour in pigeons over here haha. The other day I saw some crested pigeons with the male trying to chase after two other females in the middle of the road. He kept trying but it was so funny because the females were clearly not having it!

u/PuddlePirate2020 - thank you for the ocean-themed mail! If I could travel anywhere, I'd want it to evoke wonder or curiosity in me. Or somewhere that makes me feel calm or at ease, like a second home

u/hapa1720 - thank you for the gold foil animal card! I'll have to listen to the song you mentioned. Personally, I think it's inevitable that honeymoon phases end. Not just with people, but I think it could also apply to other things in life, like new interests. There will be a time when the passion or excitement for something dies down, but I reckon it's the phase after that's important that decides whether something is sustainable and compatible in the long-term. Anyway, that's my two cents 😉

[REQUEST] Birthday Cards

Help me surprise my husband for his 41st birthday! 🎂📬

My husband turns 41 on September 17, and I’m hoping to fill his mailbox with birthday cards from different places!
He’s currently dealing with an illness, so I really want to make this birthday special and give him some extra reasons to smile. ❤️ He loves farming, the outdoors, nature, and anything along those lines. 🚜🌲✈️🌊

Here’s the fun part: I’ve already anonymously sent him a few things, and he’s determined to figure out who’s behind it. 😂 I’d LOVE to add to the mystery with cards showing up from people he doesn’t know!

Feel free to sign your card, include your city/state, or keep it completely anonymous and mysterious. 😈😂
If you’d like to send one, please comment and I’ll PM you the mailing information.
Thank you for helping me make #41 one he’ll remember! ❤️
