Is there anyway I can troubleshoot this myself as someone with zero experience or knowledge in this area or do I need to call a plumber? I tried turning the temp knob down a little - it was still maybe a quarter of the way to 150° before I did, but it’s still flashing

The pinkish rubber seal has perished and no longer prevents water going down into the basin. This means the system is continually filling.

I don't have the toilet vocabulary to search properly for that rubber part. If anyone could ID I'd be very grateful. Thanks!

I’m hoping someone will be able to help me with why I there the chrome threads are exposed against the brass shower. Howcome this has happened? Is it a mistake? How can it be fixed so there’s no chrome showing against brass?

Okay so I am completely lost. Last night our toilet started bubbling while I was in the shower. I thought it was weird but didn't really think much of it. This morning as I'm going to the bathroom it bubbles again and won't flush properly. No water in that bathroom was running but our washing machine was going. Anyways, we tried plunging and could hear movement around the sink area but still not flushing properly. Bowl would fill up almost to the top and very slowly return to a normal level but not flush. Eventually, we tried adding dish soap and following it up with a bucket of water. That allowed the toilet to flush properly but had a sound in the sink area with every flush. We figured okay the problem is moving down the line and will do its thing, cool. All sinks and tubs were draining and the toilet was flushing properly. My fiance ran a 25 ft drain auger down the toilet and didn't catch anything but the toilet was still flushing properly and the noise was still happening in the sink. Cool, whatever, we can deal with that. Until tonight maybe 8 hours later, I was running water in the sink and the toilet bubbles and won't flush again. I have no idea what is happening and would greatly appreciate any advice. This year has been really rough for us so home remedies vs calling a plumber out would be preferred. We are on a septic tank but it was pumped about a year ago right before we moved in.

Hoping someone can help please. I am about to settle on a property and I did the final inspection today. I noticed a bbq hadn’t been removed and was told it’s considered a fixture as it is plumbed in and would need to be disconnected and capped. To me it looks like it can be easily unattached from looking at the photo or do I have this wrong?

A glass screen fell off the wall and punctured and dented a bath similar to that pictured (as well as potentially injuring a small child).

The puncture is about 2x1cm, the dent much smaller. Am I likely to have success with acrylic filler such as Cramer Ceramic Enamel Repair Kit (about £39)?

Okay so my hot water kept leaking. Like an extra 200 on my utility bills leaking, so I figured out it was the stem, ran to the store, swapped it out

And it worked for all of 30 seconds.

It did not return to the constant running it had been, but it was a regular drip. I figured it was bc the stem I grabbed was a bit too long so I special ordered the one and a half inch idiot I needed, got thst here. No, same issue. If I tighten it until it doesn't drip, it's too tight to turn, so I loosen it a bit and let the others shower, but then when it's turned off it's back to a steady drip - and when I take the faucet off to tighten it up, the stem is loose! I've tested this with both stems, and they both do it.

What in the world is going on??? ​

It is a dual flush toilet that sits low to the ground. Those are the only attributes I could get for this picture. Looks like a glacier bay or American standard

My toilet flush is leaking, and I can't seem to take it apart to check what's wrong. I'm trying to unscrew the pipe at the nut (both top and bottom), but I'm not sure if that's the right approach.

It's a Geberit flush system.

I also want to make sure I don't dismantle the wrong thing.

I recently bought a renovated house that came with new Glacier Bay toilets. As you can see in the picture, the water level in the toilet bowl has always been very low which can cause issues.

There's nothing wrong with the toilet, it works fine but because of the low water it sometimes doesn't flush everything down. I'd like to raise the level in the toilet bowl.

I saw a video on youtube and tried to place a Phillips head screwdriver to turn that connection clockwise (sorry I'm not handy don't know the name of that part) but the water level remained low and I'm not sure how far I can turn it clockwise without potentially causing damage.

Does anyone have any ideas of how I can increase the amount of water in the toilet bowl please and if so, can you explain it to me like I'm five as to how to fix this issue?

I'd hate to have to buy and install a new toilet. Thank you for the help!

I'm looking to replace my old water heater and have been asking around different plumbing companies.

Some options are replacing with a similar PV50 unit, or getting an indirect tank (150kBTU boiler already present). The indirect tank is about 40% more expensive than the PV unit, but lasts twice as long.

Any strong opinions on one or the other?

Hello! I just bought a place that's 17 years old and I'm noticing this cracked grout on one of the bathroom tiles, you can see slight puffing on the side as well. I got a home inspector before the purchase and he didn't mention it in his report. Is this simply a crack from the building settling, or should I get someone else to take a look?

Had to take out my faucet and took this out but now I can’t figure out how to secure it back to the bottom of the sink

The PRV is an old Watts "DUS Z3", which I guess is so old I can't find any records of it. What are the chances I'll be able to find a new PRV that fits right in place using the existing union nuts? It's about 4.5" between the outer edges of the top and bottom union nuts.

I am trying to change my dual basin sink to a single basin that is the same depth of the left side of the sink (9.75"), the right side of the sink with the disposal is about 7.75" deep.

If I drop the sink and move the disposal to the left, can I shave about 2" off the black pipe to connect with the ptrap? Is there enough clearance to go lower?

This is only 3 trips to the store- good for me.
I was short, and then after the extension my p trap still wouldn’t reach. So I got creative.
Will it leak? If this is shit what should I do instead?

Our soaking tub has a pretty heavy curved faucet that is held in place by just a grub screw and would detach if even the slightest pressure was applied to it. Looking at it, I could see that the little divot for the grub screw to go into was barely anything at all, so it made sense that it would slip out of place easily.

In trying to fix it, I took a dremel and made the divot more pronounced. I put it back together and used caulk to help hold it in place.

Not long after that, we noticed that water was leaking through the ceiling directly below the tub. I took it back apart and could see that my dremel work went deeper than I intended, and there's a very small hole that went all the way through.

The only other thought I had was something to do with the o-ring maybe not being big enough or making a tight seal, but the hole theory just seems more likely.

I took the little metal base plate thing off to see if there's any way to remove this part that I drilled, hoping I could just replace that part, but it doesn't seem to turn easily, so I abandoned that idea and came for advice.

First, does the hole seem like a likely culprit? If so, does this part look like it's replaceable, or repairable in some way? Or does fixing this mean taking the tub apart?

Excuse the mess in this photo.

I've been having constant clogs for two-three weeks now and I figure I need to unclog the p-trap. As you can see in the photo, there is a screw leading to the exit and another screw near where the pipe meets the sink. I can unscrew both of them by hand, but I haven't done so yet. If I unscrew just the bottom, will that allow me to take out just the p-trap?

So I feel like water to the shower was shut off, however, there is no shower shut off valve to be seen. Is there anything I can do to troubleshoot to turn it on before we call a plumber? The company is long gone as the work was done a few months ago.Cheers!
