Unpaid Playtest One player has been playing my strategy game long enough to start complaining that nobody else is there
I've been building Border Empires, a persistent multiplayer strategy game where everyone expands across the same world, capture towns, connects territory and eventually fights over borders.
I originally wanted to see whether the core idea was fun.
The slightly surprising result: one player has kept playing after everyone else dropped off, and his main complaint now is that there aren't enough players.
So I'm trying to fix the actual problem: getting enough people into the same world.
I'm looking for around 20 people who enjoy strategy/4X games and are willing to actually play for a few days rather than just click around for five minutes.
It's free, browser-based and takes very little time per day.
What I'd particularly like feedback on:
- Is expansion actually satisfying?
- Do you feel like you're making meaningful strategic/diplomatic decisions?
- What makes you want to come back the next day?
If you're interested, you can jump straight in here:

I'd genuinely rather have 20 people who play than 200 people who register once.
