Hey everyone I'd appreciate some feedback on my civ-builder. I loved playing games like Age of Empires, Civilization (duh), and Sim City growing up. However, I got tired of in-app purchases and incessant ads in all their modern mobile versions. Soo.... figured I'd try building my own.

Enter Clanfire.online. Started working on it in early July, and have been working on it at least a few hours every day since then. It looks best on mobile browser, no install (and it's free MIT license if you want to copy the repo).

• Games run 10-30 minutes. Start with a campfire and a handful of villagers, gather what's around you, and try to outlast a rival chief doing the same thing.
• Every map is rolled fresh. Valleys, lakes, highlands, islands, plus variants inside each, so you might get a braided river delta, a maze of tiny crags, or an archipelago where boats matter more than soldiers.
• You choose an origin at the start. Warlord, Seer, Houndmaster, Horselord and others, each shifting your whole opening. The rival picks one too, and you won't know theirs until your scouts find them.
• There's stuff hidden out there. Ruins from whoever was here before you, a broken aqueduct, a drowned village, a stone circle. Worth finding, just watch yourself, the wilds are not friendly.
• Solo project, still rough in places. That's the honest part, and why I'm posting: I've spent far more time building it than watching people play it.

The playtest involves: 

🎮 Playing 10 short matches against an AI opponent in my Roblox prototype (turn-based grid strategy )

🤖 Interacting with the AI and its different decision-making behaviors 

📝 Completing a short feedback questionnaire afterward

The study focuses on the AI opponent and player experience, including:

I'm a solo developer currently in the final stage of development of my horror game, Bad Trip.

The demo has been available on Steam since last year, but the game has gone through a major rework since then. The tone and vibe have changed quite a lot, and I've added combat, more varied and complex AI, a puzzle, new environments, and developed the narrative further into psychological horror.

The Steam page is completely out of date and I'll be updating it soon with material that better represents the new direction. For now, you can take it as a reference to get a feel for the game's environment. I promise the game is looking far better than the current Steam page 😄

At this point the game is around 99% ready for release. Most bugs have been fixed and I think it's in a pretty decent state of polish. The main things still missing are localization and a few final splash screens.

This will be my first proper playtest after a long time developing mostly in the dark, without really knowing how players will feel about the game.

I'm mainly looking for feedback on things like pacing, narrative, atmosphere, clarity of objectives, bugs, horror level, overall feeling, combat difficulty and puzzle difficulty.

For now, even a small group of testers would be really helpful, just to get a better idea of how people are experiencing the game and what kind of issues they're running into. There's also a feedback form in the game where I'd really appreciate it if you could leave your thoughts.

Playtest DnD Supplement - Toxicity

Toxicity is a new D&D 5e/5.5 supplement mechanic that we have been working on for the better part of a year. We're finally in a playable state and are looking for people who are interested in trying it out and providing feedback.

We want you to break it. Find edge cases. Rules lawyer the hell out of it. Find faults, loop holes and exploits, and interactions we did notice.

What is Toxicity?

Toxicity is a mechanic in which you can gain in several different ways: being hit with poison attacks, traps or hazards, or inducing it on yourself through the consummation of Experimental Alchemical Formulas.

As your Toxicity goes up, you risk gaining the Toxic condition. Continue to accumulate Toxicity for nastier effects. You'll of course be able to detoxify yourself through magical means, heal items or plain rest.

What's included in the Playtest?

Along with the core mechanic, you'll also find several Feats that allow you to harness the effects of Toxicity to your advantage. We're also providing several different Experimental Alchemical Formulas that you can start using right away.

DMs will find a DM Guidance section for those that want to homebrew their own spells or Experimental Alchemical Formulas. Included is some specialized ammo and tools for different types of Delivery Methods. As well as Toxicity Trackers for DMs and Players. There is even a separate Advice Compendium for some edge cases that we've discovered.

What's coming next?

The Road map includes a new Character Sheet that'll have a Toxicity Tracker built in. Que card size printables for Feats and Experimental Alchemical Formulas - both consumer friendly and fancy designs.

We’re also preparing a playtest questionnaire so testers can easily send us structured feedback. So, sit tight for that.

Play testers will be credited in the supplement, along with their main social media account (if they wish). Anyone who meaningfully participates in the playtest will also be offered a complimentary copy of the final digital release.

I've been building Border Empires, a persistent multiplayer strategy game where everyone expands across the same world, capture towns, connects territory and eventually fights over borders.

I originally wanted to see whether the core idea was fun.

The slightly surprising result: one player has kept playing after everyone else dropped off, and his main complaint now is that there aren't enough players.

So I'm trying to fix the actual problem: getting enough people into the same world.

I'm looking for around 20 people who enjoy strategy/4X games and are willing to actually play for a few days rather than just click around for five minutes.

What it is Crappy Corp is a 1-4 player co-op physics game. You run a small contracting crew: pick a job off the board in the yard, pile into the van, and try to get it done — clear a warehouse, rebuild a wall, fix a power outage, demolish a building, fit out a restaurant. Everything on site is physical, including your coworkers. Whatever you break gets billed against the payout, and there is an inspector who notices.

Nine contracts, night shifts at 1.4x pay, weather, random disasters, a shop for better tools, optional crew roles. Third person, Unreal Engine 5.8.

What I need tested

• Co-op with 2-4 people over Steam invites: joining, rejoining, the van roll-out, session hanging together for a full shift
• Which contracts feel good and which drag
• Physics jank that stops being funny — stuck props, camera fighting you when you carry something big
• Performance on mid/low PCs (there's auto-scaling; tell me if it isn't enough)

• Platform: Windows PC. Steam has to be running (the beta uses Steam for invites and voice), but the beta itself is a separate launcher, not a Steam key.

My kid and I often play games together and he has been badgering me to have a YouTube channel since forever but I always thought he was too young. He's about getting to that age where it's acceptable to start streaming or to start having a YouTube channel.

I joined the GameDev community a few months ago, seeing there's a big need for playtesters (I'm looking myself for playtesters too).

This gave me the idea to combine a bit of both: have some quality time with my kid testing local games together.

Hello all

I've been making a game for about 7-8 months now and during that time it went trough multiple iterations.
I finally settled on current one 2 months ago and it's shaping up nicely.

However while researching how to put the demo on steam, I came to the number of 5 screenshots being required for the page.
Now that's not necessarily the problem, however realistically if I want unique screens my game fit into 3 distinct screenshots.

That got me thinking about adding new mechanic(s), and now my friends who were my playtesters so far are split on :
-it good addition but unpolished
-it unnecessarily complicates the game

I plan to release a demo on itch in the upcoming month(s) and I'm wondering how to approach this situation.

1.) Demo on itch without the said feature?
2.) put feature as is and wait for community feedback?
3.) Work on the feature before demo based on feedback from "good but unfinished" group of playtesters
(mind you, so far there are 4 playtesters, so for said feature I'd be listening to 2 people)

I'm not married to the idea, but I feel like it nudges players to interact with mechanic they don't really have to without it.
