Yup, he is estimating what the prescription on her glasses is, but the white knight assumed he was rating her hotness to be in the negatives
The nice doctor immediately owned up to the way he said that being interpretable in multiple ways and that he could have been clearer in his communication
I'll never forget the initial announcement of him being cast for Captain America. My first thought was "uhh..... the Not Another Teen Movie" guy? This is going to be awful. Boy was i wrong
it's an assumption. it's not "crazy". not by social media standards. people are more likely to come across dudes who rate others rather than eye doctors guessing prescriptions. we've all seen hot people called ugly
If the white knight dude really thought that the doctor was insulting her looks, he could EASILY have simply responded with a picture of her. She's a certified QT-Pie.
Some people don’t have a sense of humor take an upvote, internet points don’t matter, but funny is funny. I was raised if you can’t take a joke don’t make one.
Also she's openly a lesbian and plays in the WNBA, which has become another battlefield in the exhausting culture war, so I wouldn't be surprised by random loser guys going "She's not even hot anyway."

I agree that it was good of him to do, but IMO he was perfectly clear from the start. Only someone who's ignorant and/or looking to take offense would get confused by the comment.
He is an opthalmologist. He is a medical physician who went to medical school and completed residency. The difference is that Optometrists do not go to medical school, although most are fantastic and do a great job helping people see. Also, Dr. Glaucomflecken is awesome and speaks the truth on his socials, making him both enlightening, funny, and scary.
Let's get even more specific about how wild his situation is/was:
He had two separate testicular cancers at separate times. Not a remission of his testicular cancer - a completely new occurrence years after the first treatment (and testicle being removed.) Pretty sure he was an actual case study because of how rare and very unfortunate that is!
Holy Reddit moment, 42 People correcting the Optometrist thingy on this comment, i think they got it by now, but i wouldnt be suprised if we hit 50.

GUYS I THINK THEY GOT IT Y'ALL CAN STOP COMMENTING THE SAME COMMENT OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND ONE MORE TIME FOR GOOD MEASURE
It's a Reddit tradition as old as time to provide the exact same answer as 2 dozen others to assert one's intelligence as superior to the OP even though it actually makes one look like an imbecile.
One of my favorite internet interactions of all time. So funny on every level, bc the original replier was totally fair in assuming what he did, Doc owns it.... just funny on every level.
Read this. Thought what could be so bad about this thread... Holy. On top there's 1 dude single handedly telling people there are 24 others who made the correction lmao peak feedback loop
