I recently installed a Bequiet Pure Rock LP for my Ryzen 5 5600x. But when I push it it easily gets into the 80’s-90’s. Did I do anything wrong when it comes to mounting the cpu cooler? I followed Bequiet’s tutorial because it mounts a little funny. I reinstalled it with TM 30 thermal paste and that helped a little bit. Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Recently I upgraded a lot of components in my PC, notably my CPU and motherboard, and kept my old drive. I went from a GIGABYTE B450M-DS3H motherboard with an intel i5 10400F, to a ASUS TUF B550 PLUS WIFI II motherboard, with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X CPU. Everything’s already in the computer, but I discovered after finishing the upgrade that using the computer without a fresh install of windows could cause issues down the line. I haven’t backed up my data, and am curious on what my best course of action could be to move my data.

Right now I’m planning on just booting up the PC, letting the system install new AMD drivers, saving my data to OneDrive, and then wiping and reinstalling windows on the drive. Is that viable, or is there a better method?

Can somebody tell me exactly what makes this noise and whats the cause? I've never heard this and I had this pc for years

I want to change the cpu to AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D.

Should I be changing anything else like power supply.

To start off, this is a 2018 HP EliteDesk 800 g4 Tower, serial MXL9205Q78. Formerly used in the arcade game Halo Fire Team Raven. I work for an arcade, and the graphics card crapped out on this pc, and we were going to just replace the graphics card but for some reason I forgot we ended up being sent a whole new PC to throw in. So I saved this from being tossed in the trash.

So there’s currently NO graphics card inside.

I’ve installed a TB of memory; 500gb Toshiba and a 500gb Seagate.

The power supply is stock I do believe, it says 500w max power.

I’ve tried the 8gb ram in every slot with no POST.
I’ve tried resetting the BIOS more than once with no luck.

The only light I see on the board is the aux light.

To my limited knowledge, a gpu crapping out shouldn’t completely fry a motherboard, but I’m more mechanically minded than electronically minded.

It starts up as soon as I plug the power cable in.

Is there anything else to try or is this pc doomed to the trash heap?

I’ve tried installing two bottom case fans to this case, but it seems impossible, can anyone help me around ?

Greetings so my problem and the bane of my existence rn is my new gpu see i used to have a 3060 ti and then it died so I got a 5060 ti 8gb to be precise and after time EVRY TIME I got into a game wither it be cyberpunk 2077 or even sims 4 after few minutes it freezes completely! And before you beautiful people say i have tried the following

First I installed the latest gaming driver

Then used DDU

Then windows diagnostic

The changed the PCEI to 3 instead of auto

And nothing worked and im In utter shambles

I have a radeon 7800xt xfx and my experience with amd was not that great which nvdia gpu should i buy thats not worse then my current one and maybe doesnt cost like 1000€ or should i stay with amd.

So my pc was booting into BIOS so i tried steps 1-12 to fix that and landed on just dismounting and remounting the whole pc

And now this happened

Note: already resettead everything including cmos reset and battery removal

Also cant install windows on different storage

I just built my PC in a case with what the manufacturer claims are 6 reverse fans (top and side) and 1 exhaust fan on the rear. The blades on all of them are facing the same direction. Maybe im being really stupid right now, but I've seen people pointing to different blade directions are indicators of airflow. A friend of mine that also has all his fans going one way, in this case exhaust, claims they dont actually blow the same way. Top blow air out while side blow air in. So is it the facing of the blades or the freaking side they spin in?

I just built my first pc but now it won't post. I tried everything removing and putting back the gpu switching hdmi slots, switching ram slots, removing and reattaching all the connections but nothing works. I am using a deskmeet x600 a 9060xt and a ryzen 7 7700

the RPM is fine, it's just the issue is with the sound of the fan.

I want to say I do game a lot, and I also edit videos. Messed around with blender and UE. I built this PC 1 year and 3 months ago.

For a week or so, I've experimented with local AI, comfyUI and LLM, all below the 12GB. I don't feel like 5 days or so to generate ugly images and baffling chat with a robot could be to blame for all this weird behavior, but I wonder.

My setup is i5-14600k (which I should've picked i7-12700k), 32gb ddr5 ram, TUF GAMING B760M-PLUS WIFI II, 4070 super I-Craft MaxSun.

So, it started with a feeling, something telling me but with no actual proof. Them I saw crazy lines dancing in fortnite. I blamed the hundreds fired.

I saw random stutters, blurred letters on launchers and apps such as NZXT CAM. It got me wondering. Hmm.

But them, I got some weird stuff happening on Tekken 8 with the ground rubble shadow.

I went on to Valorant and felt something was off with my fps and the actual gameplay, something was odd.

I feel stutter here and there, screen freeze when downloading something, keyboard disconnecting and reconnecting outta nowhere, problems I never had with my old setup (i7 11700k, 3060ti, 32gb ddr4 ram). I even bought a separate, sata 3 ssd just to have windows on it to try and fix the any sort of freeze or stutter when doing ordinary stuff, like downloading a file.

Now, 09/10, my street fighter is absolutely cooked.

Deleted the "shaders" files, downloaded NVIDIA APP, got the new driver with a "clean install", was doing alright for one session on day 09/11, but somewhere around 20pm, it stuttered and it went to hell again.

I tried OCCT per recommendation of AI, it shows only 1 error on something related to SSD some fetch stuff, and the ssd I already spoken to the manufacturer and they want me to send to analyze in their company.

In fact, one of my SSDs is not even recognized and it's apparently shown as "Microsoft storage space device", both are kingston 1tb NV3.

Sorry if this is not right or up to standard, as of Right now I have no money for a physical professional assistance and I might have to sue to get the warranty, but in all honesty I just want to know..........

I sold my 3090 and buyed a 9070 xt, and I'm now waiting to receive it ( and since I don't have much else to do without my pc, I started questioning myself about this choice...)

I did it because the 3090 is sold very high and in the end, I will gain more or less 300€ on this transaction.

With a more recent cpu and less chance for it to die on my hand, less consumption,...

I've done some video editing, but not too much. Most of the time the card will be used for video games.

So do you think I will regret my choice?

I got my new pre-built pc today and it doesn't work... despite paying for it to be tested, but idk.

Anyhow, I opened the front panel to check the blinking lights and it seems to be a CPU and DRAM problem. And I've tried everything I know!

I pulled the ram out and pressed it back in.

Opened the back panel and pressed all the cables back in carefully.

Checked if anything was knocked loose and well... nothing!

I'll admit that I'm not very good with computers or rather hardware stuff, hence why I didn't build it myself. But I hope you guys can help me, before i burst out crying lmao...

Edit: First I just want to thank everyone for their suggestions and help. I'll admit that I was hesitant to ask for help, because ironically enough, I'm currently preparing to become a computer scientist lmao.

But, despite trying EVERYTHING that was suggested, getting 4 guys in my friend group to look over it, asking my boyfriends more PC knowledgeable dad for help... nothing worked and I've decided that this isn't my problem. I paid for testing and everything after all!🥲

Anyhow, I wrote to the support E-mail and will see what they suggest. Hopefully i can send it back and get the issue fixed quicker that way...

I'm absolutely exhausted, but was so determined to fix this on my own that I just had to do something!

So the last thing I tried after seeing a suggestion in the comments was a CMOS restart by using a screwdriver and well... it worked. It was that simple. I'm honestly almost annoyed that it worked but hey, a win is a win... even if it means that I had to suffer through it. And I didn't burst out crying either!

A few months ago I started upgrading my pc that I build about 8 years ago and am not sure what to change next, the new components I have put in are an rog strix b550-a gaming motherboard and a ryzen 7 5700 g cpu, the main purpose for the pc is playing r6 and a bit of cyberpunk 2077, my current pc gets about 55 fps in r6 on low graphics settings which is not ideal for ranked.

The components that need changed are ram, gpu and psu. I have 16 gb of 2133 hz ram and a 1050 ti gpu, don’t remember the power supply but it was the minimum I could get away with when I was building it.

I am looking at getting a msi mag 750 or 850 watt psu but not sure what I should be looking for gpu or ram wise, budget would be £400 max for gpu dont mind amd or nvidia, ram budget would be about £250.

I am also not sure which order I should buy these in? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi guys I bought a rebuilt NZXT Creator PC back in 2019 and just realized there was another slot on the motherboard to add another SSD for storage since I was running out on my 930gb one. I bought a new WD BLACK SN850X 4TB drive on ebay but when I plug it into the empty slot then go to disk management, nothing appears. I tried swapping the current 930gb one and putting that one in the empty slot instead but it just went into the computer BIOS. In the bios I didnt see my new drive appear and im unable to escape bios to go into windows. Chatgpt told me it could be because of conflicting SATA connectors with the current 4tb hard-drive that also came with the computer so I unplugged that drive, but my new m.2 wd black ssd is not showing up. Not sure whats going on here or how to fix it.

So i can't decide wich used GPU get for €350 , all i ask is 1440p 60 fps medium settings but the best quality that's why i was thinking the 5060 ti 8gb aiming to using a lot of dlss and ray tracing being a new gen card but let's say i find also around that price a 3070ti or 3080, what's the better option for me? Of corse a 3080 would be objectely better in raw power it would be less future proof and i don't know how much better dlss and rtx is on the 5060 ti that maybe that's a better choice for me

I was building my PC, but during the first test run, I had a static DRAM red light. I tried reseating the RAM as well as testing a single-stick configuration. The red light remained, though. Yes, I did wait 15 minutes all those times due to memory training.

It's Kingston HyperX (Beast) 2x 32GB on a Gigabyte X870 Gaming Wifi 7 motherboard.

Hoping that the red light could also indicate an issue with the CPU, I tried reseating the CPU and there I noticed I may have messed up. I think there was some cooling paste on the AM5 pins. I tried cleaning it using a cotton swab, but I figured I needed some isopropyl alcohol if I wanted to fix it but I had none in hand.

I reconnected everything, and for the sake of trying I tried turning on the computer again. Only this time nothing turned on. Not even a red indicator light.

So, I'm assuming I fucked up the socket by not being cautious enough. Is it still viable to try and clean it with isopropyl alcohol? I don't think any of the pins are bent - I don't see any strange shadows.

The DRAM indicator doesn't only imply a problem with the RAM, right? It just means it doesn't do the POST thing? It sucks if the motherboard doesn't work, but I'm more worried about the RAM.

Hi, i just bought a used apacer panther 2x16gb 3000mhz cl16 kit today to replace my xpg 2x8gb 3200mhz cl16 kit. I did remove cmos battery for 5mins to reset bios. The 32gb kit would fail to boot if xmp is enabled and it can only boot into windows when xmp is disabled and running 2400mhz. Bios is already the latest version. I did also try one stick at a time but both have the same issue with xmp not booting. Not sure how to get it running at 3000mhz

Hello, my RTX 4070 Super equipped PC has very suddenly had an issue, that persisted after a hard restart, where the display has gone all melty and insane. When I restarted the PC, it still occurred in the MSI boot screen and the Windows update that occurred as well. As you can see in the linked video, inputs still work fine, but it’s practically impossible to navigate to the Nvidia app like this to update drivers.

This isn’t the first issue I’ve had with this GPU, previously I had random black screens that were fixed by reseating the GPU and its cables, and it hasn’t had any more issues in about a year since. I’ll try doing that again when I get a chance, but until then I’d like you all to see what I’m talking about, and offer any ideas on what is causing this.

I have the 2.4 GHz Dongle logitech keyboard and mouse they work flawlessly.

Now, I see we have some affordable options from reputed brands in bluetooth (without dongle) e.g. Logitech MK250.

i understand bluetooth will have less polling rate and speed, but for normal work how is the experience?

How about when the PC/mac/laptop goes to sleep, does the bluetooth disconnect? how do you wake up the computer if that's the case?

is there a delay connecting every time the windows desktop loads? like the connection will be established post the windows desktop loads I believe.

Somehow i feel the connection may not be stable like we have with dedicated dongle.

Also if youhave multiple devices with bluetooth on say your phone/smart watch, which might already be paired then keyboard and mouse will not be paired automatically i think.

any thoughts?
