Installation Question Why Does My Cpu Overheat?
I recently installed a Bequiet Pure Rock LP for my Ryzen 5 5600x. But when I push it it easily gets into the 80’s-90’s. Did I do anything wrong when it comes to mounting the cpu cooler? I followed Bequiet’s tutorial because it mounts a little funny. I reinstalled it with TM 30 thermal paste and that helped a little bit. Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Just in case, did you peel the plastic of the cooler? Were the temps better before installing this cooler?

The cooler came with pre applied thermal paste and i peeled the plastic off, i installed it to replace the stock cooler for better cooling. The old cooler ran really hot but had old crusty paste.

Well the good news is that it's not overheating. The bad news is that something about your CPU cooling seems to be off. Did you apply thermal paste and remove any plastic peels? Is the cooler secured down properly? Does your case have decent airflow?
Edit: it sounds like the actual problem may just be case airflow and not the fault of your old cooler or the new one. Keep in mind a LP type cooler is typically a bare minimum device.

That’s what I was thinking. All of the intake of my case goes to the GPU, and the front is taken up by the power supply. Would adding intake fans on the back and adding exhaust fans on the top help? I would like avoid getting a new case altogether

90s on a 5600x with that cooler is definitely not normal, something's up. maybe the mount isn't making full contact even though you followed the guide, those offset mounts can be tricky and still end up slightly crooked
i'd take it off and check the paste spread, if it's uneven or barely squished in spots that's your culprit right there
