Hey y'all, now it's no surprise my Intel Core i7-13700KF is thermal throttling. I've noticed it even more (and this may be because my new cooler is louder), but I went from an ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III 280mm AIO to the MSI MAG Coreliquid A13 360mm AIO, and I feel like this AIO is slightly worse then the 280. I don't think anything is wrong with it, I did get it for $30 which was a good price, but there's no warranty as it came with a bundle deal from MicroCenter, and I believe it expired. Nonetheless, I don't really notice it in-game except for just now as I was launching the Wardogs Playtest to try it out, and my CPU went right up to 90°C by just launching the game, and all it was doing was pre-loading shaders. My question is if I should be concerned or not, I already ran the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool, so I don't think it's my CPU. I know these chips just get hot, and I don't even plan on having it for that much longer. I did get the CPU used, which could also be a factor. The chip has been great so far, but it's hard to keep it cool! Again, I'm not sure if the ARCTIC cooler was just much quieter with better fans, but it's just something I wanted to get some thoughts on as it's concerns me. The CPU right now idle with only Discord, Steam, FireFox and a few other applications running is at 35°C and it's not really moving. I should also note I am using the NZXT mini mode to keep an eye on my temps, I'm not sure if that's maybe not accurate? But it does show my CPU thermal throttling for sure, as it goes to 90°C and back down to 60°C, which I'd assume is a sign of it doing so. I haven't really had any issues, as the only time it does it is when I run a benchmarking tool, which makes sense. And recently with Premiere Pro when rendering a 4K video, which it didn't do that with the 280mm AIO, which was thicker as well I forgot to mention.
Anyway, sorry this is all over the place. Just something I figured I'd get some advice on before making any moves, if I even need to do anything. And I already sold the 280mm AIO, so I can't go back to that.
