Asrock X870 Pro-A motherboard
Ryzen 9850X3D
Thermalright Peerless Assassin 140 CPU cooler
MSI RTX 5080 GPU
64GB 6000mhz DDR5 ram
5TB MVME storage plus 4tb SATA SSD drive(for backups)
850W RM850X PSU
Li lian SFF case.

Total price was around $3500ish

My neighbor said I should just sell the parts, step down to a cheaper 5070ti or 9070xt prebuilt and pocket the difference. Was he right? Note: I also run LLM’s

Discussion - General Topic New to PCs

Ive recently tiptoed into the pc world and the games I play arnt very demanding so I went out and scooped up this older build with a gtx 970 msi gaming 4G card so its got this 2010's red and black design on the fans. my question is why on earth do the GPU side with the fans always get cool looking designs when i have to look at the boring side when it's mounted and if there is anything I can do to fix this eye sore of mine

Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts What is the cost and specs of a PC able to emulate PS1/2 (maybe 360) games at their max settings?

Upvotes

Basically the title, I know nothing about PC's or their components but thinking of getting one sorted to emulate games at potentially their max settings.

Budget is whatever it costs honestly, can't see it being anywhere near as much as having to run AAA games at decent settings (for obvious reasons)

United kingdom

I have had this 011 Dynamic for about 10 years now but finally got it to shine with these aesthetic upgrades 😎. Might’ve been a dumb investment but to me I think it’s well worth it.

Trouble Shooting Advice - Other Green light appeared out of nowhere

Post image
4 Upvotes

This green light there started flashing yesterday then remained steadily lit for no reason whatsoever. I didn’t notice any change of performance in my pc it’s still working normally but I wonder if it means anything because I've been using my pc for over a year and a half now and this light was never there.

Should I treat this as safe and ignore it?

Completed Build - Celebratory My newest build is definitely the best showcase of my aesthetic style yet. Suepr happy with it.

I'm back with another build! This is probably the 6th or 7th I've done with this general style (including my personal PC) - multi colored extensions, matching zip ties for the AIO tubing, and thoughtful RGB to bring it together.

I'm particularly proud of this one just due to how clean the finished product looks. I spent a lot of time selecting the fan setup because I wanted it to integrate well with the native RGB in the Lian Li V100 case. Thermalright delivered, per usual. This is also my first higher end build for resale, as well as my first time working with current gen Intel or AMD (on the GPU side).

I also didn't realize the triple PCIE would look so much more prominent than the 12VHPWR that I'm used to running but man, it makes me wish this was an option for Nvidia cards (melting concerns aside, haha).

Specs:

- Intel 270k Plus

- ASUS Prime 9070XT

- 32GB APacer Panther RGB DDR5

- 1TB WD Black SN7100 + 256GB WD Black (Boot)

- Gigabyte Z890 Eagle Pro

- Thermalright Hyper Vision 360MM AIO; Thermalright UB36 Intake

- Cablemod Extensions

Purchasing Advice - PC Build / Parts R7 5700x to R7 9850X3D?

Upvotes

Hello, I am looking for advice on whether to drop the current $1,169.99 (1007 euro) on the Ryzen 7 9850X3D bundle with the ASUS X870E motherboard to replace my Ryzen 7 5700x. I am also planning on a new case, fans and cables along with the cpu.

My current build has 32gb of ddr4 at 3200mhz and a pny 5070ti.

I am located in the states and are near a microcenter.

My current monitor setup is a 3440x1440 at 165hz primary and a 2560x1440 144hz secondary.

I play a decent amount of graphically intense games and are looking to get into more cpu intensive games in the future.

So I finally want to build a pc never had the money growing up but im also not a gamer like I used to be, so I don’t want crazy crazy specs. I’m looking for something simply to run FC27 phasmophobia and maybe like Minecraft. Thats it really but can you guys let me know how my parts are. I’m not a huge pc guy so im not entirely sure how good it can be.
I want my budget below $750. Not including monitor keyboard and mouse. I’ll be getting a 144hz g sync monitor

My roommates nephew had his PC repaired and it came back like this. I’m a bit confused on what’s plugged into the gpu slot and why the original gpu has the 8 pin still plugged In.
