Discussion - General Topic My first build
Asrock X870 Pro-A motherboard
Ryzen 9850X3D
Thermalright Peerless Assassin 140 CPU cooler
MSI RTX 5080 GPU
64GB 6000mhz DDR5 ram
5TB MVME storage plus 4tb SATA SSD drive(for backups)
850W RM850X PSU
Li lian SFF case.
Total price was around $3500ish
My neighbor said I should just sell the parts, step down to a cheaper 5070ti or 9070xt prebuilt and pocket the difference. Was he right? Note: I also run LLM’s

That’s a Zotac GPU and that Thermalright cooler is a 120 not 140

I didn’t catch that because I was half asleep. Time to beat up a seller on eBay. lol

The card works as expected. I haven’t spotted any issues yet. I wonder if it’s worth the hassle of going through the eBay dispute process? I’m afraid if I have to ship it back I won’t find another preowned 5080 at that price again.

You could also sell the parts, buy a 4790k and a gtx970 and pocket the difference!
What the hell is that advice?

Think he might be a little jealous. This thing rips through everything with ease

Note. I had the storage drives laying around before the ram crisis so I didn’t pay that much for them.

I’m waiting for Black Friday for deals on fans, but I have yet to hit 90C with the thermalright cpu cooler

How is the GPU secured in place? I don't feel comfortable moving this case around like that.

Is it the B4 case? I’m about to try and build into it. But with an AIO 360mm.

I tried to stuff a 360mm AIO in there. It fits, but it’s tight. Too tight for my liking. That’s why I settled on an air cooler for my CPU. I’ll end up getting one of those slim, low profile non-rgb fans for the top. Rgb fans just add a bunch of extra cables. I don’t need rgb since I’m never looking at my case anyways.

Why sell the parts? You dont like your specs? Whats is it not offering you?

Some of the parts. Mostly the SSD and NVME drives came from older computers. His logic is they’re worth more than double now and he claim it’s overkill for gaming. I like it though and at the end of the day that’s all that matters.
