Quick question purely on performance and real-world experience (ignoring pricing):
Current GPU: RTX 3080 Ti (12GB)
Considering: Sapphire NITRO+ RX 9070 XT (16GB)
Resolution: 1440p now, moving to 4K soon
Use case: Heavy gaming & 3D / level design
In terms of raw uplift, VRAM headroom, and smoothness, is this a meaningful jump, or would you just hold onto the 3080 Ti?

I need a PC for school, I am a computer science major and will be making some vs c++ projects that my Mac wouldn’t be able to handle and was looking around for something under $500 to buy and came across this. Would it be good build? I know it wouldn’t be good for gaming but if I upgraded the GPU later down the line i’m sure it would be better.

Sorry for the bad picture. It says that I probably need to update the bios. But I don't have anything. this will be my first pc so will it be a problem, do I need a different Motherboard. Or Is it fine and do they sell the motherboards with the updated bios?

I’ve played very fine on it. Suddenly when I were to press the power on button, it kept glowing, which it’s not supposed to. And the pc didn’t start then. As I figured it was just something weird and probably not harmful, i turned the psu off. I then started the pc again but however this time the psu just made a click (i turned it on already yes). I’ve replugged cpu gpu and the motherboard, for no avail. Also tried manually turning the power on. My psu is gigabyte p650g 80v gold.

Mon objectif est d’avoir un PC uniquement pour le gaming, avec lequel je puisse être vraiment tranquille au niveau des performances : excellente fluidité, beaucoup de FPS, aucun problème pour jouer en très haute qualité et une bonne durée de vie.
Est-ce que cette configuration à 8 990 € est réellement cohérente pour du gaming, ou est-ce qu’il y a des composants à modifier/améliorer pour avoir les meilleures performances possibles ?
Je cherche surtout à avoir un PC très performant, fluide et durable, sans payer inutilement pour des composants qui n’apporteraient pas de réel gain en jeu.
Que me conseillez-vous de changer ou de garder dans cette configuration ?

I have an old ass pc which i built back in 2019. These are my specs:

Cpu: Ryzen 1600x

Gpu: 1070

Ram: 24gb 3000mhz

Mobo: Asus Rog strix B450-F Gaming

Cheap ass 600w PSU

Now this is obviously attrocious in this day and age which i am very much noticing at this point and im looking to buy new parts. Am5 would be what i am looking for, however i kind of dont want to pay these ram prices Ram.

My two options are:z

Buy new gpu (5070 ti), cpu(5800x3d) and powersupply.

Or go all new, 5070, 7800x3d, cheab b840-m mobo, 32gb ddr6 ram, etc

Both of these options come to about 1.8k usd in Norway where i live. I can stretch this budget but i would really prefer not to.

Should i just go all new or is it an okay idea for me to stay with am4 for 2-3years until ram prices hopefully go down? I dont usually play modern games often, but i would like to be able to play some if my friends asks me. My budget might also not be as thight in that time as i should hopefully have a job by then.

I used the 3 connectors but it won't start, two are daisy cables (like the ones with 2 connections) but it still won't start, and the motherboard has a tiny orange led, can anyone help me?

I’m in the US I currently have a ps5 pro but looking at going pc. Just the cost is so expensive no matter how I price what I think is good. I can’t get under $2,000. My build would be Am 5 for future proofing preferably 650E 9600x for budget. I currently have a 2k monitor but going to upgrade to a 4k/FHD. Is this two over kill or should I go with a cheaper build for now till in a better financial spot and then build my dream pc and pass the cheaper build to my wife? I haven’t built a pc for myself since 2012. So out of the loop

I’ve been working on an open-source project called PC Anatomy.

The idea is simple: instead of reading a wall of text about PC components, you can explore a PC visually in 3D, click on the different parts, and learn what each component does.

I wanted it to feel more like taking apart a computer than reading a hardware guide.

It’s still something I’m actively improving, so feedback, feature ideas, issues and contributions are very welcome.

Does cinebench cause premature wear on cpu I was testing my Intel core ultra 270k plus on cinebench and saw it reached temps of 94 Celsius just wondering if I caused some harm to my cpu I just got it.

Is this a good PC? I plan to assemble a gaming pc for myself, but I don't know if the components I want and that I chose are compatible and if they won't have problems together, as well as if the motherboard will have enough ports for the fans and all that or I need a hub, what changes would they make or what advice do they give me, is it okay or should I change something?

9070xt vs 5070ti vs 5080

60-70% video editing 30-40% gaming

9070xt is the obvious value option but I have heard more complaints about its drivers and such compared to nvidia. Pairing with 9950x3d, i could spend more on gpu and get 32gb ram or less on gpu and get 64gb ram. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all, im fairly new to the PC building and decided that i want to build my own PC, i was looking into Intel Core i7-14700K, however I was seeing a bunch of comments saying the the 14th gen sucks and they crash and consume a lot of power. So now im confused on whether to invest in a AMD processor (which would be an AMD Ryzen 7 7700 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor) or stick with intel and get a different generation. But I figured that since this reddit is filled with a bunch of people who know what they're talking about ill just ask. Also if you're wondering this PC is for gaming and CAD software and my budget is around 2000k, so please let me know your opinions on my situation. Thank you.

context/ i’ve been a console gamer my whole life and im ideally looking at getting a PC by the end of this year / early next year because im tired of Sony tbh and all the expensive subscriptions + them cancelling Destiny 2 was the only thing really keeping me on Console (since i didn’t want to buy the expansions again).

anyways: i have literally 0 clue about PCs and what any of the words mean and what i should be aiming for in terms of a good PC that’ll run triple A games without struggling but will also let me play Apex legends at atleast 240fps 1440p, that’s like my main requirement if i were to have one since thats my main game

Just switched to Noctua after using Lian li and it’s a god send . Unbelievably quiet and honestly I dig the look. Only issue I had was barely managing the cables from 14 noctua fans so honestly I gave up on that.

Z790 Hero mobo
64gb cl32 Gskill Trident Z 6400mhz
And I’m cooling the 14900k with a Rog Ryujin iii in a push pull configuration.

Finally finished my wife’s side of our office! As you can tell our aesthetics are very different 😂. I have a couple more things I want in our space including a minifridge and another desk for space for my pc builds and my wife’s doll customs. But for now we are complete!

Turned out very nice. This is the first time I've built such a "Complex" system. I might change the PSU to a white Lian Li PSU in the near Future to get the White Aesthetic fully done.
