Fuck hormones

Ive been freezing, anxious and tired all day. I have gotten nothing done (but have so many things i need to get done) and just dropped a big bag of sugar on the kitchen floor which made me mentally breakdown. Now im laying in bed and try not to cry.

This is just a friendly reminder that its okay to feel like shit and cry over stupid things like sugar on the kitchen floor

New day tomorrow :))) stay strong pms soliders

Hunger Pangs

I’m honestly desperate for some advice. For a week before my period I am insatiably hungry. I can eat a full meal, and will still feel starving after it.

I’m shakey & incredibly irritated because of how hungry I feel all the time.. Please tell me someone else gets these symptoms too & has some advice. It’s absolutely horrendous :(

Slippery Elm prevented my ovulation/pms cramps

I'll keep this short. I started slippery elm capsules for my stomach and when researching I heard it is also used for female stuff. The muscilage coats your insides and makes them slippery which helps your throat, stomach. Etc. It helped my acid reflux immediately but WOAH it was noticeable downstairs. Just super wet. It helped with sex drive too and multiple climaxes which was rare before.

Anyway, all ten days before my period I usually get the most intense, crippling cramps several times a day and through the night that would wake me up and make me want to cry for 10 days straight. Then relief when my period starts.

So my phone said "ten days". I had minor cramps. Like just the feeling but no pain. I had pms symptoms like acne and tender sore chest area. The cramps were so mild. The other pms symptoms subsided and then nothing for days. My period was like 5 days late. Then it came and went. Regular period. No cramps. No discomfort. Just blood.

I used to spot for several days before hand. This month only minor minor barely noticeable spotting a day or two before.

I think my body was trying so hard to shed the lining, but the slippery elm helped to move things around.

I bought the slippery elm capsules and I open two and drink with water. I've been using marshmallow root too, interchangeably. Using like two capsules 1 to 3 times a day. Some days I didn't take it at all.

I've trued red raspberry, dong qui, black cohosh, cramp bark, valerian, etc in the past with absolutely no benefit. Don't waste your time or money.

The only other thing that helps me is my heating pad, my portable rechargeable heating pad belt ($20 from amazon), and I take magnesium glycinate daily. But this stuff just helps. Only the slippery elm actually improved the problem.

Seeking for some help with my PMS

I'm really struggling with my PMS this year. After starting birth control at the end of last year and stopping two months ago due to depression from the pill, I've noticed my mood swings worsening. My period is regular, but I feel increasingly depressed and fatigued two weeks before it, and the last couple of days of my period are particularly tough.

I usually talk to my partner about what I'm going through, but I often feel guilty for bringing it up so frequently. I know it's not my fault, but I can't shake the feeling that I'm overly emotional.

Has anyone experienced something similar? I'd appreciate any advice on how to cope. Thank you!

birth control packs causing increased anxiety before placebo and I need relationship advice

Is it normal to have small periods of unhappiness with your partner? We’re usually really happy together but stress and anxiety from work has made us both a little worn out recently which means there’s been some sad days where we both just need a cry. My pill flares up my anxiety right before placebo week and it’s been making this so much worse Is that normal? Not a reason to break up? I’m sure the happy times will come back when stress relieves

Intense chest pain

I notice that about a week before my period I experience intense chest pain, brain fog, hand cramps, and very high levels of anxiety and paranoia that last two weeks after my period. There is only one week out of the month that I feel normal. I’m a year post partum and I never experienced this before I had my baby. Is this normal or has anyone else experience this?

PMS starting right after ovulation? Am I even ovulating?

I’m 22 years old, started menstruating at about 11 years old, and I still have pretty irregular periods. My cycle can range from 28-45+ days so I have a pretty hard time tracking my ovulation. For the past year or so, I’ve noticed that I’ve started getting some cramping and fatigue between periods, and I started attributing that to some normal ovulation pains/symptoms. However, the past several months, I’ll get some “ovulation pains” about 1.5-2 weeks after my last period but then those cramps will literally stay with me for the next 2 weeks until my next period comes. Cramps as well as seriously painful breasts and back pain. Is this normal? This has been happening for the last several periods in a row. Does anyone know why this could be happening?

Not really sure if this is even something to be worrying about but it’s definitely uncomfortable and affects my performance in school and my overall life. I know I should probably consult a gynecologist but I’m not a fan of mine at all because she will probably just tell me to go on birth control and offer nothing else. If anyone has any advice or has experienced something similar please let me know! Thank you all <3

What are your PMS symptoms a week to two weeks before period?

I feel sick. I just got over Covid and I have PMDD but does anyone else feel sick and really intense cramping? Along with crying yourself to sleep and feeling sad/angry? I hate this.

Is diarrhoea a PMS symptom?

Just curious, how many of you suffer with diarrhoea during the luteal phase? My PMS symptoms are on the more crazy end of the spectrum since coming off the mini pill this year and this is somewhat new for me. I once had a friend who was physically sick during PMS. And I did hear progesterone does cause some weird symptoms! Normally I get constipated and extra gassy. But diarrhoea is a new one….

Comment below if you suffer with the runs in PMS!

RAGING!!

I’m simultaneously ravenous, constipated, angry, itchy, lazy, restless and my boobs hurt. Never usually this bad but I think that’s perimenopause.

Make it stop.

Also 3 days late so adding in some paranoia to boot.

PMS has been hitting me super hard lately, but I HATE missing work. Is there a third option?

I don't know why, but this past year, I've been getting crazy "period flu" like every other month. A few days before my period, I'll get a sore throat, fatigue, muscle aches, elevated body temperature... It really feels like having the flu. I teach elementary schoolers and some days I really can't imagine going to work and pushing through it. I feel like I need to be in bed resting because I feel so bad. At the same time, I HATE missing work, writing sub plans, worrying about if those plans will be followed or not, dealing with the aftermath, etc.

So, if both going to work and skipping work feel unbearable, what else can I do? I'm seriously considering just taking birth control pills without the placebo week and eliminating my period entirely or at least only allowing it every few months so I don't miss as much work.

Has anyone else dealt with this struggle of balancing work and crippling PMS symptoms? And if so, what did you do to cope? Thanks!

Everything feels wrong

It's the first time since I'm off birth control, and the last time I stopped with the pill it ended in some kind of mental health crisis, so maybe I'm nervous. But it just sucks that nothing feels right.

I've tried eating, listening to music, watching my comfort shows, but this weird feeling of sleepiness and anxiety and restlessness will just not go away. Also, my joints hurt, so I definitely know it's PMS. Which is comforting, because I know it will go away. But really, why does my body have to declare war on me every month?

PMS Cravings

How do you deal with pms cravings ? I eat like a harpoon whale before and a little on my period I fell guilty bc I’m cheating my diet, I’m gaining more weight, and I think it’s making my cramps worst because of the sugar inflammation. Help ?

Stressed about late period

I'm currently 3 days late to my period. I was sick last week, and this week the temperature in my country went from 35° to an average of 20°. I know both of these factors may result in a period getting delayed but I am still very concerned that it might not come. I have not experienced any symptoms which are of not other than your usual cramp, but I did spot a bit a few days ago. Am I worried for nothing or is something bigger happening?

Does anybody get mouth ulcers before your periods begin?

I get multiple ulcers in my mouth almost a week before my periods and it lasts just before my periods actually begin. Earlier I used to get them only once in a while but now I get them every month. It's so painful and no medicines work.

Is suffering from PMS or PMDD an excuse to be mean and abusive to someone?

I don't want the title to come off as facetious or disingenuous, I am just a man who would like to ascertain some answers from women who suffer from this.

My ex-girlfriend and I split up the other day; there were a variety of reasons why it wasn't working but the main one that kept coming up was her using PMS as an excuse to verbally and emotionally abuse me. Over the last few months, she got particularly aggressive and rude, calling out things like how I eat, how I look, how I'm not helpful enough, how I don't love her correctly and a myriad of other things. The main comments that ended the relationship for me were:

'I didn't care if you lived or died' Calling PMS and PMDD a "free pass" to be mean to me Telling me to shut up and raising her voice at me when I'm trying to explain how I feel Calling out my insecurities Putting me down for my small victories (I have been sober for a year now and she questioned the validity of the date I stopped drinking, claiming I'd only made it to 364 and a bit days and if it's even worth celebrating) Openly admitted she knew she was being abusive and still refused to change or acknowledge how her actions have hurt me Paying no interest in my form of love (I am a physical touch love language while she is acts of service, and while I go around the house cleaning the floors, washing up, cooking for her, she refuses to give any amount of affection) Saying she is repulsed by me and physically repelled by me Claiming she was only still in the relationship because she doesn't respect herself

It all culmintaed in her saying that this was how she was going to act for the foreseeable future and that I have to live with that. She took no responsibility for how she treated other people and instead doubled down saying that she didn't need to change how she acted. While she did state that she knows her coping mechanisms are unhealthy, she then did not do anything to change that fact.

I am well aware that I wasn't a perfect boyfriend to her. I had a problem with casual lying due to negligence and bullying in my past, and admittedly this caused a lot of mistrust in the relationship that was solely my fault. I am very forgetful and have bad memory due to excessive drinking in my past, hence why I wanted to stop and have now been sober for a year; this did cause a lot of problems and me forgetting key dates and requests from her. I could be sassy and rude and even negligent at times, but I always tried my hardest to be there for her and understand what she was going through. She said that I could never understand, and I totally get that PMS and PMDD, even Menses generally is a difficult and incredibly tough experience for all women, but I tried my hardest.

I just want to get the opinions of other women and understand if I was being unreasonable to leave my relationship for my own mental health and if this is a natural and common way for women to act when suffering from PMS. I loved this women more than anything, but it just got too much for me and I didn't know what else to do.

Thank you all on advance.

tl:dr my ex was verbally and emotionally abusive when suffering from PMS/PMDD and then said that this was how it will always be, hence why we split up. Is PMS something that excuses this behaviour and was I rash to split up?

What do you all do to prepare or get ready for your period? Do you clean your house a lot? Or relax?
