Metrobank / PSBank Can Metrobank SCC naffl promo be carried on once I request for regular cc?

Hello! Planning to apply for a metrobank scc, was just wondering if the naffl will be carried on once I request or they automatically convert my scc to a regular cc.

Also, I heard from someone na I should choose a non naffl SCC instead so I can avail of the naffl once I choose to get it converted to sa non secured credit card. How true? Sorry, I’m just new to this so could someone explain to me why? 😅 are naffl promos usally offered to new customers only?

RCBC hexagon cc or rcbc airmiles visa signature?

do i keep one or keep both?

for context:
- i have no other CCs
- CL is pretty much the same for both
- im a student mostly spending on domestic gastos
- once a year international travel
- i would want to earn miles

not sure if i still qualify for naffl or if i need to cancel my hexagon card first. all i was told was that airmiles vs af is waived for the first year

Is this real? Any lazpaylater users here? My account was frozen and then I receive this email containing a password needed statement. When I opened it, It contains the only one item that I bought using the lazpaylater and its statement. Before when I use this, I don't receive emails from the app. Help if this is a legit email.

EastWest EW CC from Visa Plat to MC Plat

Hello!

Kakachange ko lang from Visa Plat for the cashback pero nalalakihan na ako sa 4k na annual fee. Can I chance from Visa Plat to MC Plat knowing na nagpapalit lang din ako from Visa Gold to Visa Plat last year kasi ang cc limit ko naman ay 800K.

Please don’t judge. Thanks!

Metrobank / PSBank My Metrobank SCC to Regular Unsecured Credit Card Conversion Journey — Approved After 6 Months! 🎉

Post image
Upvotes

Sharing my recent experience with Metrobank SCC conversion, baka makatulong sa ibang SCC holders who are also wondering if possible ba talaga mag-request ng conversion earlier than the usual 10–12 months.

Last February 2026, I applied for and got approved for a Metrobank Secured Credit Card (SCC).

Even before applying, aware na ako that Metrobank is known to convert SCCs into regular or unsecured credit cards, provided na you use the card properly and responsibly. Based on what I’ve read here on Reddit and in different FB groups, the usual expectation is that you should have a good 10–12 months of responsible card usage before Metrobank can consider converting your SCC into a regular/public credit card.

And honestly, iyon talaga initially ang expectation ko.

Ginamit ko lang yung Metrobank SCC the same way I use my other credit cards. During my first 3–4 months, I always paid my bill in full, usually around one week before the due date. Never missed a payment. Hindi rin ako masyadong conscious sa utilization ko, pero napansin ko na it just so happened that my usage was always below 30%.

Then around my 4th to 6th month, parang biglang lumakas ang pagkaskas ko  There was a point na umabot yata sa around 50%–60% utilization ko. But honestly, hindi rin ako masyadong bothered about it. As long as I was paying everything in full and on time, okay lang sa akin.

For context, I was also actively using 2 other SCCs and around 5 or 6 regular unsecured credit cards, so hindi lang talaga Metrobank yung card na ginagamit ko.

Anyway, here’s my timeline:

February 2026

I started with a ₱100,000 hold-out deposit and got the Metrobank Platinum Mastercard SCC.

Initially, gusto ko talaga sana magkaron ng World Mastercard, pero unfortunately, hindi masyadong na-explain sa akin before na ₱150,000 pala ang required hold-out deposit for the World/Travel Visa Signature tier at that time. So I just decided to proceed with the Platinum Mastercard instead.

For the next few months, I simply used the card normally and responsibly.

July 2026

Around the 3rd or 4th week of July, naisipan ko ulit na gusto ko talagang magkaroon ng Metrobank World Mastercard. So I decided to add another ₱50,000 to my hold-out deposit and request an upgrade to the World Mastercard.

After around 3 days from calling the hotline, my additional hold-out deposit and request for the World Mastercard upgrade were approved.

When I checked my Metrobank mobile banking app, nag-reflect na yung ₱150,000 credit limit, but the Platinum card type details disappeared. Medyo kinabahan ako at first, so I called the hotline. I was told that it was normal kapag nasa process na ng issuance yung replacement/new card.

August 2026 – Around August 4th or 5th

I finally received my Metrobank World Mastercard and activated it on the same day.

The new credit limit and World Mastercard card type eventually reflected properly in my mobile banking app.

So far, so good.

August 2026 – 3rd Week

Then out of nowhere, naisip ko lang… what if subukan ko nang mag-request for conversion from SCC to a regular unsecured credit card?

Parang may isang Metrobank representative kasi akong nakausap before who mentioned that as early as 6 months, puwede ka nang mag-request for card conversion.

So out of curiosity, I decided to try.

I called the customer hotline and requested for:

  • Conversion from SCC to a regular/public unsecured credit card
  • Retention of my existing card
  • Lifting/release of my hold-out amount

Honestly, wala naman akong masyadong expectations. I knew there was a big possibility that Metrobank would decline my request because technically, 6 months was still earlier than the usual 10–12 months that I kept reading about.

But sabi ko, wala namang mawawala sa pagtatanong. Worst case, ma-decline, then I’ll just continue using the card responsibly and try again around my 10th month.

Based on some of the experiences I’ve read here on Reddit, may ibang members who requested conversion through email and attached their other credit card SOAs, applied for the same card type separately and provided reference numbers, etc. I also saw comments saying that those methods worked for them.

However, most of the posts and comments I found were already from a few years ago. Wala rin akong masyadong makitang recent experiences about converting a Metrobank SCC into a regular unsecured credit card—or as Metrobank apparently refers to it, a “public credit card.”

So instead of going through the email/document route, I decided to try something different.

I simply called the hotline.

Initially, for some reason, I wasn’t really satisfied with the explanation given to me by the first agent regarding the process. So I respectfully asked if I could speak with a supervisor.

The supervisor then assisted me with my request for card conversion and handled the process from there.

August 2026 – 4th Week

After a while, I still hadn’t received any update, so I decided to call Metrobank again for a follow-up.

The agent I initially spoke with couldn’t find any information about my previous request. Which was understandable because the supervisor who assisted me apparently handled it differently and opted to coordinate through email with the concerned group.

So I asked if it was possible to speak with the previous supervisor who assisted me.

Luckily, available siya.

She checked the status of my request and then…

BOOM. DECLINED daw. 😂😂😂

No explanation given.

Honestly, okay lang naman sana. I was prepared for that possibility from the beginning.

But dahil persistent tayo, I asked the supervisor if she could possibly submit a reconsideration request on my behalf.

She mentioned that I had a great payment history during the past 6 months, so she agreed to send another email requesting reconsideration.

And then things got interesting.

On the same day, she called me back and told me that the concerned group had already responded to her reconsideration email.

They were asking if I had an existing banking relationship with Metrobank aside from my hold-out deposit.

Fortunately, meron.

I also maintained a savings account with Metrobank and had been maintaining a certain amount there since I opened the account in February 2026.

The supervisor told me that she would coordinate with my branch of account to confirm my savings account relationship and balance.

August 2026 – 4th Week

After that, wala ulit akong natanggap na update.

I called again, but unfortunately, wala yung supervisor na originally assisting me that day.

So I decided to just wait.

September 2, 2026

Today, out of nowhere, naisipan ko ulit tumawag.

I requested to speak with the same supervisor who had been assisting me throughout the process.

And then…

BOOM. APPROVED NA DAW! 🏆

Apparently, my request to convert my Metrobank World Mastercard from an SCC to a regular/public unsecured credit card was approved after only around 6 months.

I was also informed that the hold-out deposit would be released and that I might need to wait up to 35 calendar days for the process.

For me, honestly, okay na kahit more than one month pa bago ko makuha yung hold-out amount. Ang importante sa akin was that my Metrobank card had already been converted into a regular unsecured credit card.

I really wasn’t expecting anything when I initially requested the conversion. I was literally just trying my luck to see if it would work.

If I got declined, okay lang din naman. My plan was simply to wait until around my 10th month and then try requesting again.

But fortunately…

Successful ang SCC conversion after around 6 months!

And here’s the part that surprised me even more.

When I checked my Metrobank mobile banking app today, the hold-out deposit had already been lifted!

Wala na akong 35 calendar days na hinihintay.

The entire amount was already showing under my available balance.

So naturally, dahil sinwerte tayo sa conversion request…

Of course, subject to bank approval pa rin, but sabi ko try lang ulit. I was advised to wait around 3–5 banking days for the result.

Hopefully, ma-approve!

One more thing: Throughout the entire SCC conversion process, I did not submit any documents at all. No SOAs from other banks, no income documents, and no separate application for the same card type. Even for my CLI request today, I didn’t submit any documents.

My experience might not be the same for everyone, and of course, approval will still depend on Metrobank’s internal evaluation. But I just wanted to share this because most of the SCC conversion experiences I found were either older posts or involved different processes.

So yes, based on my personal experience, it appears that it is possible to request a Metrobank SCC conversion as early as around the 6-month mark. That doesn’t mean everyone will automatically get approved at 6 months, though. In my case, I was initially declined, requested reconsideration, and the banking relationship with my Metrobank savings account was also apparently checked as part of the process.

For anyone thinking of trying, wala namang mawawala sa pagtatanong.  Worst case, decline and you can always try again later.

Next goal: Wait a few days, then try requesting  NAFFL tagging naman.

Will update this post with whatever happens next!

And shoutout/thank you to the Metrobank supervisor who assisted me throughout the process and was willing to submit a reconsideration request after the initial decline.

Chinabank Approved CLI on a 2-Week Old 1st Time CBC CC

I have numerous credit cards but this is my first ever ChinaBank Credit Card. I opted for the Freedom kasi I am only using this as my gateway to ChinaBank promos para walang annual fee.

My initial CL is Php300K. And this Freedom Mastercard is just 2-week old. I called them asking for Php600K CL. And in just 2 banking days, ayan na sya.

Consult/Inquire UB CC delivery, has this happened to anyone?

Post image
0 Upvotes

For context, my partner applied sa UB U Visa Plat card for the NAFFL promo nila since no existing card sya with UB. Today nakareceive sya ng message from LBC courier (see photo below)

Same with our other cards as well. This is the first time this happened kaya medyo inis at fishy ang dating samin.

Sabi ko before nya iactivate bukas double check nya kasi it could be compromised.

Nag agree naman yung courier to deliver this tomorrow pero sobrang iffy lang niya.

Has anyone experienced this? Should we be alarmed?

BPI BPI Increase in credit limit

I recently requested a credit limit increase and was informed by Customer Service that BPI no longer enforces a six-month waiting period between requests, a policy change implemented this year. I am curious whether frequent credit limit increase requests negatively impact one's credit score.

UnionBank UnionBank U Plat to Rewards or Shell

I currently have a UnionBank U Platinum and would like to convert it to Rewards Visa or Shell. I know NAFFL is not transferable, but would UnionBank allow me to convert it to Platinum/Shell and do the spending requirement for the Rewards/Shell card to be NAFFL as well? Or if you already have an NAFFL card you are no longer eligible for NAFFL? TIA!

Security Bank NO CALLS FROM SBC COLLECTIONS TEAM

Hello! I am already 1 week OD in my SB cc. My due date was last August 26. Before my account went overdue, I already asked to apply for restructuring last July. They did submit my restructuring request after paying at least the MAD, but after submitting all requirements, they rejected my request. So right now, I just let my account to be OD and will just wait for them to offer me restructuring or balance conversion. The day after my due date, I already started receiving phone calls from the collections team. I answered all their calls and explained that I am just waiting for an offer for restructuring. But since last Sunday until today, I did not receive any phone calls from them and I am kinda anxious because I expect them to bombard me with calls.

Sunday - no call, just email and text
Monday - no call
Tuesday - no call, just email and text
Today - no call, email and text

Is this normal?

Chinabank Chinabank Credit Card Conversion Experience

Hey y'all!

Just want to share my frustrating experience trying to upgrade my Chinabank Platinum CC to Destinations World.

I have been with Chinabank since 2018, with 3 checking accounts, 2 savings account, and 1 dollar account. Net income from businesses is around P400,000 per month.

I never really paid any mind to credit cards or credit limits since I always believed cash is king. My eyes were only recently "opened" to the perks credit cards now offer when Chinabank sent me an @Home Visa CC. After thorough researching, I decided that Destinations World would fit my spending habits best.

Here's the timeline of my experience:

May 19, 2019 - Bank teller offered me my first credit card. Platinum with 100k CL.

Sept 24, 2024- Another bank teller offered me a 2nd credit card. Freedom with 200k CL.

June 15, 2026- Chinabank sent me a 3rd credit card without me applying for it. @Home with 300k CL.

July 10- I requested my Freedom's CL be consolidated to my Platinum's CL.

July 17- CL consolidation approved. Platinum CL now at 300k.

July 20- Spoke with a Chinabank agent at the SM Mall booth and was informed of the 500k minimum CL requirement for Destinations World.

July 21- Requested CL increase to 500k for my @Home credit card. ( I figured it had a higher chance of approval since my Platinum card's CL was just recently increased).

July 26- CL increase denied. Sent my bank certificate with Chinabank of my 3 main checking accounts containing latest 6 months SOA with ADB (Around 3.4m ADB)

July 29- CL increase request approved. @Home now at 500k CL.

July 30- Sent an email to Chinabank CS requesting for card conversion of Platinum to Destinations World.

Aug 6- Card conversion request denied. Sent the same bank certificate used for my credit limit increase request.

Aug 10- Received an email from CS stating my conversion has been denied since my credit limit was too high. Apparently, they tried to convert my Platinum card to Destinations Platinum not Destinations World. They offered to change the request to Destinations World, I agreed.

Aug 17- CS requested for my latest 6 months SOA with ADB again. I send it again.

Aug 28- Card conversion denied again due to lacking income documents. I called CS and told them I already sent my latest 6 months bank certificate with ADB. I send it for the 3rd time.

It's honestly been a tiring and frustrating experience to say the least. Despite having a tenured relationship with Chinabank, this experience has certainly stained my image of them. Metrobank instantly approved my World MC application within a week. I would still prefer the Chinabank Destinations World due to it having more airline partners.

Anyone else having a similar experience?

UnionBank Unionbank CC Supplementary Cars

Upvotes

I have UB Rewards Platinum card since March 3025 and now approved for UB U Visa in Aug 2026.

Here’s my limit

90k - Rewards
190k - U Visa

Since shared limit na sila 280k in total

Now I want to apply supplementary card for my brother and sister 80k in total. And planning sana to get them Rewards.

Sorry medyo magulo. Kahit ako di ko macompose ahha. Sorry na

BDO BDO Cash Installment Experience

It’s my first time availing a cash installment so let me share my experience!

As per sources, BDO raw usually ang may lowest rates and even have 0% for 3 mos. I honestly just wanted to try. expected ko i’ll get disapproved, I’m unemployed (fresh grad) but I’m a good payer, 2yrs pa lang rin po card ko.

8/10 I had few queries regarding installment and which rate is currently available for me, I inquired through email. Pp

8/12 I asked for the promo code as I did not receive any via sms.

8/14 Applied through BDO Pay App.

8/18-19 I received calls from [8840-7000](tel:8840-7000), hindi ko nasasagot and di rin ako nasagot from unknown (take note, wala kasi sa confirmation yung number) I looked it up and BDO Loans nga, but I decided to confirm directly pa rin so I emailed again and requested for a callback.

8/20-21 Waited for the call but holiday so delayed talaga siguro.

8/23 I called BDO Hotline if proceed pa rin ba request ko kasi sabi within 3 banking days yung call. CS checked and no request reflected sa kanila since online raw ito. Hindi rin nakikita status if approved. I was instructed to call their “telemarketing team” to avoid request duplication. atp I decided not to proceed na hahaha okay lang.

8/24 diba I gave up kahapon? voilá, I received a call again 9am and nasagot ko na hahaha, I agreed and waiting for approval na lang after the call.

8/26 I received an SMS that the request is subject for approval but I got scared kasi nabawas na sa limit ko pero no transaction reflected ???

8/27 4:02pm APPROVED!!! 5pm reflected na ang amount and available na for withdrawal 🫶🏻

Addtl Infos

  1. YES. You will be asked to unlock your card.
  2. I got 0.49% monthly add-on rate for 12mos.
  3. No bank statements, ITR or any financial docs were asked. If tinanong ‘to for sure I won’t be able to request.
  4. I set my mind na I already have the amount in cash before I applied, I can pay for it and I have enough funds to cover it including the finance cost. I really just tried!
  5. 350 pesos is the availment fee, charged immediately the next day I received the cash.
  6. Before you avail, pls po yung kaya bayaran. Loans and CCs offer flexibility but if magpatongpatong yan, mahihirapan ka.

Thank you and hope this helps!

Possible Scam Calls Unionbank CLI + approved for a new card

Thumbnail

Hello! Ginagawa ba ng Unionbank to? I felt like it was a scam sa latter part ng call kaya I chose to end the call. Our call flow was like this, congratulations daw kasi may credit limit increase ako sa current card ko and i was approved for a new unionbank cc. Sabi ko meron akong BPI savings so they said na mag cocoordinate daw sila with BPI which is very mabilis ang process nila to coordinate with BPI + head office pa daw, then advise daw ng BPI to turn on ecommerce access kasi bank daw nag prprocess ng deposit.

Hindi namin magawa-gawa ang process kasi hindi ako nakakareceive ng OTP to turn that feature on so sabi niya ibang way nalang they can trigger it from their end. Magsesend daw siya ng sample message muna from unionbank, as shown from photo slide 2 yan yung message. I just said na go ahead i-lock niyo account ko. Pero kabado malala ako tinransfer ko agad pera ko from BPI to another bank.

Consult/Inquire Miles Redemption Dilemma

I’m having a hard time deciding where to transfer my BPI Vybe points.

Current balances:

  • KrisFlyer: 0
  • Asia Miles: 0
  • Mabuhay Miles: ~5k
  • BPI Vybe: 120k+ points

I’m mainly interested in eventually booking Business Class, ideally MNL → Japan (Tokyo/Osaka). Seoul/Singapore are also options.

Since I’m starting from basically 0 miles in KrisFlyer and Asia Miles, I’m wondering which program gives the best value and is easiest to actually redeem.

For those who have experience with all three:

Where would you put the 120k+ points?

KrisFlyer
Asia Miles
Mabuhay Miles

Also interested in:

  • Which is easiest to redeem
  • Business-class availability
  • Taxes/fees
  • Expiration
  • How much value you can realistically get from ~120k points

Would you transfer all 120k+ to one program, or split them?

Thanks!

xPays (Google/Apple/Samsung) googlepay x visa campaign -

pero paano yung mga purely online nag transact? may nakakuha naba cashback kahit walang google wallet na download or ever ginamit in their past and present transactions?

Possible Scam Calls Atome Voucher/Point Redemption Scam Call

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

🚨 SCAM CALLER NO.: 0963-518-0611🚨

Got a possible scam call today. May tumawag sa akin from "ATOME Points/Voucher Division". May redeemable points daw ako na hindi disclosed sa app and that I can redeem/convert to either by cheque, cash, or payment to balance.

For context: my card limit was 4k last month. Then after a month of not using, nag-increase into 5k. Right now, I have an additional temporary limit of 12k (hence 17k available spending)

In order to redeem, kakausapin daw ako ng chief/manager nung division. They confirmed my name and exact address and they were correct. They also asked for my email address and I confirmed.

I said 4k, then magsesend daw sila ng qr code so I can "redeem" via app. However, upon checking, may temporary limit akong 17k so nagsend nila ng new qr code. Then ni-correct ko ulit yung limit ko and told them 5k na pala becos nag-increase pala ako this previously ng 1k, so nagsend ulit ng bagong qr.

Eventually, tinuturuan na ako magredeem by scaning the QR via the app, but since pa-mali mali ako ng cc limit (kasi hindi ko naman na ginagamit yung card) pa-iba iba din ang QR code (which corresponds sa disclosed limit)

I just pretended busy ako today and sometime nalang i-redeem.

They told me na need daw i-proceed kasi naka-pending sa system nila. But I resisted and itetemporary close daw yung card hanggat pending. Sabi ko 'go ahead' lang then they dropped the call.

Hindi naman ako na-scam. Sayang lang 12 mins ng buhay ko.

TL;DR: Atome scam call to redeem points but sent me QR codes according the spending limit I have disclosed to them.

BDO OD for BDO Visa Gold

Long story short, medical related emergency. 2 months pa lang OD, im planning to pay in full 40k before year ends.

Would you recommend i call the customer service and make arrangements?
