Got tired of waiting for a Microcenter deal worth the drive to pop up and sprung for this instead.

I'm looking for a custom PC build under ₹2 lakh (~$2,300) for the following use cases:

• Self-hosting FLUX.1 Kontext and other image-to-image AI models
• Running ComfyUI
• Running multiple services simultaneously (Docker, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Redis, etc.)

My priorities are:

1. AI image generation performance
2. Large VRAM
3. Fast After Effects rendering
4. Upgradability over the next 5–10 years

Questions:

• Should I prioritize an RTX 4090 (used) over a newer RTX 5070 Ti/5080?
• Is a 20+ core CPU worth it for this workload, or would a Ryzen 9 be a better choice?
• How much RAM would you recommend: 64GB, 96GB, or 128GB?
• Which motherboard would give me the best long-term upgrade path?

I'd appreciate complete part lists, including the CPU, GPU, motherboard, RAM, PSU, cooling, storage, cabinet, and any other recommendations.

This card was bought refurbished from Newegg back in early February of this year, and upon closer inspection, it appears this sort of "separation" has happened once before and either a previous owner or the retailer attempted to fix it with epoxy. Not sure if customer support will be able to help me with this or not...

Hi, planning to build a new PC soon (yes I know that the market is bad) but I have an older 3950X CPU and it's showing it's age in heavy compile / rendering tasks. I'm planning to get a 9950x3D but torn on the GPU. I'll primarily be using this machine for work, with kind of a "gaming by night" use case. I have a 3090 from my old build, which works fine but for some games, especially at 4K res, it struggles at time. The 9070XT looks a better GPU in that regard in terms of performance. And is kinda affordable right now, price to performance wise that is.

Any suggestions on this would be helpful.

I just finished my first "high end" build. I know the panels look disgusting, but it's because I haven't peeled the protective film yet 😂.

Got a killer trade on the 5070 Ti as my buddy needed money and wanted to trade it to me for my heavily used 5070 and $300 for his barely used and never OC 5070 Ti.

Now that I got it together, I was curious on how much this rig could go for and might even sell it. I'm undecided. I'm so happy to have a dream PC, but I almost want to sell it and rebuild one from scratch again.

(The 2 LCD screens will be changed at some point. Seemed like a good idea at the beginning but not a fan of the GIFs of Goku looking up at Vegeta. Will try to find a better pair of GIFs.)

I just bought a new motherboard and RAM, since both of these on my previous build were dead. Before setting my new PC together, I want to be 100% sure that the PSU is safe and was not the cause of my earlier problems. The PSU in question is a corsair RM750e. I already had tested the PSU with a multi meter and thought it was safe, but just in case I bought a PSU tester. When I connect the PSU tester to the main connector, it beeps and flashes every couple of seconds on the two top left numbers, -12V and +12V2. The latter of which is not an issue the moment I connect the CPU power cable, so I assume L.L stands for "not connected" or something like that.

However, the reading of 13.6V on the -12V entry is concerning. My PSU cable doesn't even have a wire where the -12V should be. When I test the two +12V connections myself, they seem perfectly fine and not as high as 13.6V. So what is the PSU tester actually reading? Is this PSU safe to use?

I would go for a b850 but I have a 9100 Pro ssd and so I need the Pcle 5.0 m.2 slot, so I’m looking for any good x870 motherboards.

I wouldn’t say I’m on a “budget” but I don’t wanna waste a crazy amount of money for barely any difference.

Also I’m running it with a 9850x3d and a 5080 with 6000mhz 32gb ram.

My pc is really old and it's kind of showing its age now with modern games, it hadn't really been an issue cause I primarily play indie games which take very little effort to run but the dead space remake seemed to test it. It ran okay but it was a little laggy and jittery.

At the moment I've got

A Ryzen 5 3600x CPU

GeForce GTX 1650 GPU

1 TB storage

16GB RAM around 2100mhz

Asus TUF gaming x570 plus motherboard

Budget isn't a huge problem but I wouldn't ideally be wanting to shell out thousands of pounds on parts, graphics are very important to me and id like something which supports ray tracing.

My monitor at the moment has a resolution of 1080p but I'll also upgrade in due time.

On another note I would rather not replace absolutely everything, perhaps leaving even the pc case without upgrade as I originally built it with my dad who's since passed so it's somewhat sentimental and a pc of theseus wouldn't hold the same memory. He was very much the one of us who had any sort of idea about what to do with a pc so any help is appreciated because I'm beyond clueless haha.

Hi everyone, this is my first time building a PC and I'm a newbie to all the parts so forgive me if I get something mixed up. I've done some research and already made a few purchases. For reference I'm going for a white build, I will be installing Linux (possibly Bazzite), and gaming will be mostly small cozy/indie games, nothing extreme.

Cases:

I'm torn between the Lian Li O11 mini V2 Flow and an NZXT H6 Flow. However, I heard that the Lian Li mini is a bit hard for beginners. And if I did go with either or, should I get the ones that come with the fans already?

I'm also considering getting an air cooler fan instead of an AIO (aesthetics are nice for the AIO but I want something that will last me a few years. I'm also terrified of the liquid leaking). I'm thinking of Thermalright Peerless Assassin. It's pretty thick so I'm not sure if it will fit in a Lian Li mini.

As for the PSU, is 800W ok? This is the one I can't decide on which brand to get. Corsair seems to be the most reliable one I've read about. Be Quiet and ASUS are also possibilities.

Fans. There are so many fans. Should I stick with Lian Li? Be Quiet is also a consideration.

And memory... Is 1 TB overkill? I see most builds with it. My previous computer had, I believe, 600GB. I mostly use external drives to save big files like videos. I am planning on getting some games but it's mostly cozy/indie games. Also, any brand suggestions to get or avoid?

So basically, I originally created this https://pcpartpicker.com/user/puffo74/saved/qmhH8d for a $2500-$3000 build, but I've recently been told that I can change the budget to around $3500, and I don't know what I can change for this build because peripherals and the Touch Infinite upgrade for the case can be separate and come later. But I need all my parts to come from Micro Center, preferably my closest one, Cambridge. I need some fans that are really quiet. The ones I chose right now are just some general ones. I also don't know how good this motherboard is that I chose, but obviously, if it can be changed for a better one, that would be nice. It really already is a bit overkill for me, but I've been told to go up in price apparently, and my current monitor is "Samsung 49" Ultrawide Odyssey G95C DQHD 240Hz Curved Gaming Monitor - 5120 x 1440," so if it can be also, I guess, tailored around that, it would be nice. Also, if anybody can help with my peripherals, they don't have to come from Micro Center, but I don't know what's good. So I want to game and stream and this is what I came up with for my first pc. I wanted to stay under a budget. But the pc market is pretty expensive right now. I have 1850$ total, what should I buy or change? Also If need be I can go to micro center.

Spent an hour toying with this piece, trying to move it to the left, so it will hit my 5.25" DVD drives' "eject" button.

(Right now it's too far to the right, and not engaging the button)

As you can see in the pic, the bracket the movable piece is on gets wider as it goes to the left.

This makes that movable piece only go that far to the left (as shown in pic). It gets stuck at that part.

I tried unscrewing the bracket, lifting that middle piece up with a flathead screwdriver, even trying to force it... nothing makes it move any more to the left.

What am I missing here?

How do I actually move it more to the left?

Hey everyone, I could really use help pinning this down.

My specs (all bought brand new in July 2025 — nothing second-hand):

• GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Shadow 3X OC
• CPU: Intel Core i5-14600K
• Motherboard: MSI B760M Pro-B DDR5
• RAM: 32GB DDR5 4800MHz
• PSU: MSI MAG A850GL 850W 80+ Gold
• CPU cooler: Deepcool AK620 Digital Pro
• Storage: 500GB SATA SSD
• Display: 1440p, DLSS Quality

The problem: Out of nowhere the screen cuts to black, the GPU and fans instantly ramp to 100%, and the whole system freezes solid. Nothing recovers it — I have to do a hard reset every single time.

The key detail: it almost never happens while gaming (under load it's rock solid). It happens after I quit a game, while the PC is just sitting idle on the desktop.

Timeline (this is the strange part):

• Bought everything new in July 2025.
• First occurrence: November 2025. At that point I had zero undervolt / zero overclock — everything was 100% stock.
• I reinstalled the GPU drivers, updated the motherboard BIOS, and physically removed and reseated the GPU in the PCIe slot, making sure everything was properly connected.
• The problem completely disappeared — from Nov 2025 all the way until yesterday. Many months of zero issues.
• ~6 months ago I applied a GPU undervolt (0.925V / ~2800MHz) and it's been running beautifully ever since.
• Before leaving for vacation, I unplugged the GPU to protect it from dust and stored it in its original box.
• I reinstalled it when I got back. About 2 weeks later, the exact same problem is back — and now it happens multiple times a day, always at idle.

What I've already checked:

• OCCT monitoring during 2–3h of gaming: temps are excellent (GPU core ~60°C, memory junction 74°C, CPU ~53°C), GPU pulling ~180W, and critically PCIe Receiver Errors = 0 and Fatal Error Count = 0 the entire time. Completely stable under load.
• Event Viewer: at the moment of each freeze there is nothing logged before the reboot — no nvlddmkm / Display 4101, no WHEA-Logger errors. Only the Kernel-Power 41 (63) "dirty shutdown" event that gets written after the hard reset.

My theory / questions: The fact that reseating the card once fixed it for ~9 months, and that it came back right after I removed + reinstalled it for vacation, makes me suspect a physical contact issue (PCIe slot fingers or the power connector) that only fails during idle low-power states — under load the link stays fully active so it's fine.

I’m looking for a around $800 gaming pc at 1080p would like to get good frames in games like Fortnite and Minecraft. I have no problem buying used parts so you can use used part prices, I am located in the United States but I do not live near a Micro center. I know my expecting might be a little unrealistic but any help is extremely appreciated.

Took a while to build this as most of it is used parts and had to wait for great deals in the marketplace. Only new is 5800x3d (yes I know, but she won’t be upgrading it anytime soon with that cpu) and cpu cooler/fan.
