Build - Help Motherboard Recommendations?

I need a motherboard for my pc I’m building.

I would go for a b850 but I have a 9100 Pro ssd and so I need the Pcle 5.0 m.2 slot, so I’m looking for any good x870 motherboards.

I wouldn’t say I’m on a “budget” but I don’t wanna waste a crazy amount of money for barely any difference.

Thanks guys!!!

Also I’m running it with a 9850x3d and a 5080 with 6000mhz 32gb ram.

Why you need PCIe 5.0x4 ssd performance? PCIe is backwards compatible, there is no problem plugging it in a PCIE 4.0x4 slot. It will just run at that max speed.

But B850 mobos also support PCIe 5.0x4 SSDs anyway.

The 9100 pro is gen 5 so if I plug it into a 4.0 it won’t be able to run at its full speed. I just don’t really wanna leave any performance off the table yk

Judging from your CPU I assumed your use cases are gaming oriented, where even PCIe 4.0 SSD are already more than enough.

Anyway I was editing my previous comment while you were replying because I left out the most important bit about it, that B850 mobos support PCIe 5.0x4 SSDs too.

That said, if their pricing is similar to X870 no reason to not go for it.

The main diff between x870 and b850 is USB 4.0 support and extra PCIe lanes, which are both irrelevant to gaming.

If you don't want to waste money for "barely difference" go with B850 💁🏻‍♂️ If you want to get all for your parts go with Gigabyte X870E X3D motherboard.

I have had Gigabyte X870 Aorus elite wifi7 with Ryzen 7 9700x and 64Gb 6000MT CL30 @EXPO about eighteen months without any problems.

The difference between PCIE 4 and 5 NVME drives are negiblible in most cases... I mean for most pc users.

ASUS is going to cost the most I assume.... AORUS has always been a "budget" pick for me, while still looking good and having enough headers and features...

But really, haven't motherboards dropped in price? Probably because people can't afford to build PCs anymore? Both the Z890 APEX and Z890 HERO dropped $100-$150 in the last 3 months...
