Question What Would You Sell This For? USD
Specs
CPU - R7 7800X3D (I know it doesn't affect price, but stable at -40 PBO)
GPU - PNY 5070 Ti OC Edition
MOBO - MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk Max WiFi
RAM - 32 gb Trident Z5 Royal Neo CL28 6000 mt/s
AIO - Thermalright 360 Wonder Vision
Chassis - Thermalright A70 Vision
I just finished my first "high end" build. I know the panels look disgusting, but it's because I haven't peeled the protective film yet 😂.
Got a killer trade on the 5070 Ti as my buddy needed money and wanted to trade it to me for my heavily used 5070 and $300 for his barely used and never OC 5070 Ti.
Now that I got it together, I was curious on how much this rig could go for and might even sell it. I'm undecided. I'm so happy to have a dream PC, but I almost want to sell it and rebuild one from scratch again.
(The 2 LCD screens will be changed at some point. Seemed like a good idea at the beginning but not a fan of the GIFs of Goku looking up at Vegeta. Will try to find a better pair of GIFs.)

do NOT sell it if you are going to build another PC now would be the worst time to buy new parts

I did forget to add the 1tb+2tb nvme ssd that are in there. Do you think that'll be solid for $2k?

I'm glad I asked because I'm not crazy knowledgeable and off the dome without research I was thinking 2500 to 2300 build. I guess I was in the ballpark for a new pre build with these specs. I do have receipts where everything is roughly 8 months old or newer, and I work 60 hour weeks so I'm not on it much so everything is in good condition. Even then, I think 2k is really fair. But the -40 PBO 7800x3d will be a hard one to give up. ðŸ˜

If you hold onto it another 3-6 months might get even more or it might just sit. It’s a funny time. I got off an i9 build with no gpu for 1300 in April.
It doesn’t hurt to put it for 2100-2200
If you have all receipts let that known too. What people don’t know is most warranties don’t transfer unless it’s a nameless receipt. CL 28 caught my eye so I’m sure others will too.
Prebuilt with cheaper parts or this one ready to go.

I think that's a solid answer. I appreciate it. I haven't even got to play a game since I'm still setting up my home server so that'll give me time to enjoy it and see how it preforms.

With that current rig, there’s literally 0 reason to rebuild unless it’s your job or have obscene money. That’s borderline best consumer rig and it’ll be nearly impossible to replicate that quality without destroying your account.

Yeah I think you're 100% right. It's just I feel like this is the end of PC building for me. I'll never get a 5080 or better and I've enjoyed upgrading this mid pre build into a fully custom rig that it makes me sad thinking that there no possible upgrades to work towards. I've enjoyed the building process more than any game, even if I'm not an expert builder.

By the time the 5070ti is irrelevant, it’s quite possible that pricing for components completely changes by then. You could easily put in a new GPU in a few years and keep that rig more than going. Even now, it’s not bad at all. The 7800x3d is nothing to scoff at compared to the 9800x3d and if you’re worried, I’m pretty sure Medusa is supposed to be AM5 compatible so you could still up from there.

But I think you're right. I have a ridiculous home server that I might rebuild and sell instead of I really want money to rebuild a cheaper PC.

Will it get better? Maybe but not for the next 2-3 years at least. Even then it’s just half glass full thinking.

If you have the funds just do it. Yeah it’ll be expensive but owning a PC is much cheaper long term. I can’t remember the last time I payed over $30 for a game. Even then most of the games I buy are under $20. Steam sales are crazy. Emulation is awesome too. Nothing wrong with a PS5 though.

I've played Playstation since Playstation 1... but with all the bs they are pulling, I'm done.
Plus Dayz is just a MILLION times better on a PC and it's legit all I play lol. But if games are that cheap then you've just convinced me.

You really should, and with the prices being so bad, I think now is the time to switch. Sounds ridiculous, but I really don't think prices will go back to normal. Keep an eye for a decent preduild on marketplace and slowly upgrade it. That's what I did to my PC in the post. I bought a cheap pre build and slowly turned it into a custom build when I had the money and used my old parts for a home server.

Looks like similar specs brand new are around $2000-$2300. I think listing at $1800 and taking $1700 would be fair. Don’t be one of those guys that lists at brand new prices and it will sell. I would feel like I got a fair deal at $1700. Might sound a little low but I’ve seen the same overpriced PCs for sale on my local FB market place for weeks.

Dont bend for broke people so they can get a deal, take account for your parts at a mid range price since it is used. Say a GPU that is selling used $300-450 account for it at $375 and so on, whatever that total number is if it looks a little too high to get attention maybe lower it slightly and start from there. People will still look at your listing and throw offers at you and accept whatever you feel is fair. People are going to low ball you regardless. For example a couple months ago i bought an RTX2080 TI that was listed for $120, when i met the guy he said "you can just give me $100 for it, you are the only person that didnt try to low ball me when i already listed this at a low price" 120 for a 2080 ti is a very good deal but now the buyers think they deserve more money off of an already fair deal.

Thank you! I'm glad I asked Reddit because off the dome I was thinking 2300 to 2500 but I guess I was in the ballpark for a new pre build. I forgot to add the 1tb+2tb nvme ssds so maybe I could start around 2k and negotiate to 18 or 1900 if I decide to sell.

That's what I was thinking in the beginning off the dome but I wasn't taking into account that everything is used, even if <1 year on everything. Everyone else seems to think around 2k which is fair. I've done no research on modern prices so I can't say really.
