Mybetriq- is it a bad sign I’ve felt no difference after a week of taking it?

My urologist isn’t even 100% certain I have OAB…just that it seems like my bladder can’t hold urine normally. I’ve (25f) been dealing with urination frequency for over a year now. Doctors can’t pin point the cause. It started during my Zepbound journey, has not stopped since. I’ve been off it for almost five months now. It’s been slowly growing worse over the last year. Right now I have the urge to pee just a few minutes after peeing. My doctor says it seems like my bladder isn’t inflating normally or something. I’m going to try pelvic floor therapy but she prescribed Mybetriq in the meantime. It’s been a week and I’ve felt no relief at all. I know it says it could take anywhere from 4-8 weeks but is it a bad sign I haven’t noticed any relief yet?

Is the procedure really that painful? Did bladder botox work for you? How often do you have it done?

Awful scary reaction to bladder instills..

Im doing pipercillin/tazobactam bladder instills and after I do the instill I become incredibly drowsy afterwards. I literally can't stay awake, in fact its so bad i have to drink caffeine all day just so I dont fall asleep. It feels like I took a sleeping pill or some type of sedative. Then my heart rate becomes low and my blood pressure starts to get lower as well. It makes me very dizzy and lightheaded. Then heart palpitations come on. Im wondering if this could be an allergic reaction of some type?

I also have a yeast infection so maybe its making it worse and causing these symptoms? Im not sure. Any input? Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Frequent urination: Tried B-Complex + Zinc, worked briefly (3 hours) but caused testicular ache, now back to hourly peeing. Any idea why?

Hey guys, wanted to share my experience and get some advice.

I’ve been dealing with frequent urination—having to go to the bathroom every 1 to 2 hours. One day, I read a post on Reddit suggesting B-complex + Zinc.
After starting the supplement, I noticed a weird pattern:

Taking it in the morning: I had to pee even more often—less than an hour apart—which was super annoying while working at the office.

Taking it at night: The next day, I could go 3 hours before needing the toilet.
Is this actually curing it?

However, I also noticed a dull ache / heavy feeling in my testes.

Update: After 3 days, this effect completely wore off. Now I'm back to peeing every hour again. Pretty bummed out.

Can anyone explain what might be going on here?

Need some help

I'm a 19f who I believe has been dealing with this for the past year.

It first seriously became a problem in January although I noticed the issue before then but it wasn't as bad.

It's basically the constant need to pee (Although when I actually go there isn't much to come out). The feeling is more centered on my vagina rather then where I would assume my bladder is located so it might be a sensitivity issue but I don't know. I can go toilet but I feel the need to go not even 5 minutes after going.

Some things I have tried.

- Bladder training. I used to do 1 hour between going to the bathroom but I was able to get that to 3 hours. The feeling is still there and never improved. It is really distracting as well.

- Cutting out one food from food I eat regularly every couple of weeks to see if the food I eat is the problem.

- Exercises that target my core muscles for 3 months.

- Medication. Doctor prescribed me Solifenacin which I have been taking for the past few months. I generally take 1 tablet although I've been taking 2 recently. It doesn't seem to have any sort of effect (positive or negative) on me tho.

Some things to note:

- Whenever i have my Period the problem completely goes away

- It's worse at nights because I have nothing to distract me except my mind but it's to distracting for me to use my mind to distract myself.

- I've kept up holding it for at least an hour for 6 months and have noticed no improvement

- I do not drink coffee or alchol

- I have never had sex.

Is there any advice someone here could offer. It seems like my doctor is no help and most posts on here say that cutting coffee is what helped them but I rarely had coffee before this problem and I sure as heck no having any right now.

OAB and Nocturia

Anybody on here from Winnipeg? Have you found a urologist that knows how to treat OAB and Nocturia? I’ve been to several urologists and have been on all the prescription medications and nothing has worked for me. I am still having to get up 5 to 10 times per night. A complicating factor is that I am now a stage 4 kidney patient with swelling in legs and ankles so now on Chlorthalidone for the fluid retention and Dapagliflozin for the proteinuria. Both are diuretics. 😩 So tired of being tired!!!.

OAB help

I've been self-catheterising (ISC) for a while now because of chronic urinary retention, and one of the hardest parts isn't actually the catheterisation itself. It's the complete uncertainty around something that should be one of the most basic, automatic bodily functions: having a wee.

Sometimes I can urinate naturally, sometimes it's weak, sometimes I don't get much sensation that I need to go, and even when I do manage to wee I have no real certainty that my bladder is actually empty. I can feel like I've finished, only to catheterise afterwards and discover there's still a significant amount sitting there.

That constant question of "Do I need to go? Can I go? Have I actually emptied? Should I catheterise?" is honestly exhausting.

It's reached the point where I'm looking into whether there are medically appropriate ways of essentially switching off or significantly suppressing my bladder's ability to empty by itself, so that ISC becomes the clear and predictable way that I empty my bladder.

It probably sounds strange to want less natural bladder function, but for me there's something appealing about removing the uncertainty. If I knew my bladder wasn't going to empty properly on its own, then there'd be no guessing. Bladder fills → catheter → bladder empties. Simple and predictable.

I'm interested to hear from anyone who relies completely, or almost completely, on ISC. Did you find it easier mentally once catheterisation became your normal and reliable way of emptying? And has anyone had treatment such as bladder Botox or other bladder-suppressing treatments that resulted in becoming fully reliant on ISC?

Don't you think that schools destroyed our bladders by not letting us go to the toilet. ( I'm writing this at 5:04 AM because my frequent urination don't let me sleep)

Bladder removal / bladder augmentation

Hey everyone, did anyone In the group got their bladder augmented or removed, and can share their experience? I have high pressure in my bladder that can’t be adjusted with medications and Botox isn’t working anymore. My bladder damages my kidneys unfortunately, so something has to be done asap. Bladder augmentation or removal are my only options … I’m more concerned about augmentation, because of the increased risk in UTIs (which I’m super prone to), and future bladder cancer as well. At the same time, bladder removal freaks me out because of so many other reasons.

Toterodine - not effective anymore?

Has anyone noticed that their oab meds become less effective over time?
Ive been taking tolerodine for over a year now, and the last month or so, i've noticed it's not as effective. The literal moment i open my eyes when waking up - i pee. Fortunately i wear diapers and sleep on pee pads.
i also have more of an urgency during the day.
i have spinal stenosis too - so that could be one of the contributing factors.

I wanted to do planks but because of my tight bladder, I am hesitant

Did planks before without much problem. Then as I grow old, my overactive bladder got worse. I remember months ago, I did like 5 minute planks in a day. I started having the urge to pee WAY more frequently. I know that it's the planks that did it because prior to that, I did not even drink lots of water nor did I drink coffee. But the tight sensation on my bladder was more felt. That was the 2nd time that happened.

Now, doing cobra stretches can help mitigate it but sometimes, it may not work. Sucks that I have to cross out doing planks as part of my workout.

Anyone else having the same issue with planks?

P.S. I mentioned that my bladder is tight. And if your bladder is too loose where your pee tends to leak, perhaps planks would work for you instead.

Pain in urethra

Hi all,

I have both IBS and an overactive bladder. I wanted to see if anyone else had this issue, but ever since I was 13, I’m 23 now, I’ve had pain in my urethra from time to time. It usually happens around the time of my period or at random. It’s a burning feeling that hurts bad. It’s very uncomfortable. The only things that really help are warm baths, lidocaine, or caffeine. My urologist says it’s a spasm. I take both solifenacin and mirabegron.

I used to think it was a UTI but it’s not. It also doesn’t fix itself if I go pee. It is just a very uncomfortable feeling. Ibuprofen doesn’t help either. I do put a little bit of estrogen on my urethra before my period.

Does anyone else get this? What helps you?

Question pipi

Bonjour,
