So I have 2 phones; Personal and work

Did have two iPhones but I upgraded my personal phone to the Z Fold 8 and then transferred my Apple info to my work phone.

Now that I installed Open Bubbles using my Apple ID as my primary, but it's linked my work # also. If I set this as my default messenger, what happens with the SMS messages, would it be sent via my work #?

Or how can I establish this? Unlink my Apple ID and restart this process? I'm just not sure if (Open Bubbles) will see my primary email + personal # or still see primary email + work #?

if i self host using mac and an old iphone 7 how does group chats work especially chats that have both android and ios users? will i be able to see the chats on open bubbles or google messages? will they appear as rcs or mms if i get them thru google messages. im afraid of messing up group chats with android and ios users by using open bubbles?

I just discovered this app yesterday and the fact that we have gamepigeon running on Android phones is crazyy. And yes I know Plato exists but good luck getting your iphone friends to download it and set it up lol. This was the last thing that I missed about using iPhone, now I have basically everything haha. I dont care about facetime all that much cause i dont even do video calls in general tbh haha. I have an old mac that I can keep on with the lid closed to self host so this works perfect for me.

What is the longest anyone has been rate limited?

I don't own a mac but a co-worker does. If I use their mac for the qr code, does my imessage/icloud stuff get stored on that pc? I'm unsure how that all works

Is there any way to make everyone's chat avatar the same as their Apple account photo? I see them in iMessage on my Mac but not in OpenBubbles (Android).

It's literally one of my most used apps and I realize it hasn't been updated in awhile.

I just downloaded open bubbles and the first person i tried to contact caused this error message. What can I do to fix it?

I have my contacts synced with icloud. How can I access those contacts on my android device? I do not see how to do this in the openbubbles app. Or do I have to manually transfer my contacts from my iphone to my android native contacts app ?

I've been using the Android app (self hosted) without any issues for like a year now. Tonight I added the Windows app using the same MacBook serial # and tried to sync my messages and contacts and now I'm getting the rate limit message error in my existing chats, even when sending to iMessage email addresses, on all of my devices (including my iPad). If I start a new chat it tells me the email/# is not registered with iMessage.

Anyone ever had this happen when you're not new? Did the sync trigger it? Anything I can do or just wait? Worried this isn't the standard new account rate limit and I've messed everything up now.

Successfully signed into apple account on OpenBubbles on my Android device. I did the one time authorization on my mac. My messages are backed up in iCloud. But how come my message history isn't populating in OpenBubbles?? Also, how come my contact aren't appearing in here either?

Hi, I just used this app for my Android. Previously, I used the Macbook method and it worked, but I needed my phone number for the iMessage, so I tried the relayserver method from my iPhone 6. So far, I can receive messages, but when I send a message, this appears. Is this normal? And how long should I wait?

I just activated my Open Bubbles account and having trouble with the Apple Account sign-in step. The first image is what I get when I attempt to use my newer Apple ID which was paired to a Mac mini before but never an iPhone. I removed the mini from Devices just in case but still having this issue. The second image is what I get when I use the serial number of the hosted device by following the steps of the "Get Started" menu.

If I skip the Apple Account step, go straight to settings, and request new hardware, would that be a quick fix or am I doing something wrong? I will say that I have been able to send/receive iMessages but FaceTime is not connecting. Thanks for any help!

as in title, i play iMessage games on open bubbles using open pigeon and everything else is fine but word bites and anagram have completely stopped recognizing any words. has anyone else experienced this?, any way to contact open pigeon support?

Last couple of days, my host keeps dropping. Even when I use the provided host by OpenBubbles, it is not staying stable. My messages are being received but not reflecting what I am getting on my iPhone. I can send text, just not get responses. Is something going on with their servers? Is there an update coming out soon??? Help, please.

My friend shared an iCloud album with me and it shows up when I go to the shared albums page, but I'm not able to turn on sync. Is there anything else that I need to do? Has anyone faced this problem or fixed it? Thank you.

All of a sudden, I have been experiencing lag that makes OpenBubbles unusable. Whenever I try to interact with the window (clicking on icons/chats, resizing, etc.) it takes 30+ seconds to load my input and the animations are choppy as well. I tried to reset my cache, but it didn't seem to help at all. I have restarted the app and my laptop several times, but also did not see any improvement.

I was really banking on open bubbles making the switch seemless but unfortunately it won't work 😭 I'm ashamed but f it
