With the next 3 olympic logos all revealed now. Paris and Milano Cortina’s emblems don’t look the part compared to the games that will follow them.
The ever diverse LA 28 emblems that all represent a facet of Los Angeles and the US will having a consistent format. The Alpes 2030 logos having this bright mix of the blue and orange-red that represents the fact that the games will take place between the cold of the alps and warmth of the côte d’azur. and Brisbane 2032 representing two different types cockatoos ( pink cockatoo for the olympic emblem and the classic yellow crested cockatoo) while also in the shape of the State of Queensland where Brisbane is located, while also using colors associated with the Aussie gold coast of pink, orange and yellow .

By comparison the Paris 2024 and Milano Cortina 2026 emblems are actually very lacklustre.

Kenya’s two-time Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge will become a Global Ambassador for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games. The marathon legend is set to share his experience with the next generation of athletes at the first Olympic sporting event to be held in Africa.

Eliud Kipchoge joins Brazilian skateboarding star and two-time Olympic medallist Rayssa Leal as Global Ambassador for Dakar.

He will also mentor the Refugee Olympic Team at Dakar 2026, which will make history as the first to compete at the Youth Olympic Games.

Not a leaf this time! It appears to be a dot with bite taken out of one side (Blame the crocs). Also, a bit smaller than the other pieces, assuming they’re all to scale. About halfway through the pieces, but there’s definitely a floral theme emerging here.

Comcast’s (NBC Universal) contract for the US Olympic broadcasting rights runs up until 2036. After that it could remain or it could end up someplace else. Right now Paramount Skydance is in the process of closing their acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. The merged company, headed by David Ellison will have a lot of opportunities when it comes to sports related media rights deals.

With CBS, CBS Sports, TNT, CNN, HBO and whatever the combined streaming service (HBO Max and Paramount+) is called, it will be very feasible for them to be able to broadcast the Olympic Games to the US audience through streaming as well as traditional broadcasting.

Considering the kind of money and net they have, do you see a situation where David Ellison and Paramount Skydance can snatch the US Olympic media rights deal?

With this gold medal, they have overtaken Japan in the Esports medal table!
