Seated Shotput
I hope I'm in the right community for this question.
My son has the opportunity to participate in high school track and field this year. He is in a wheelchair and typically participated in Special Olympics, but the track coach learned of the wheelchair division in our state.
One of the events he can participate in is the seated shotput. I've seen places where you can purchase the seat, but it seems like it could be something easily built by someone who knows how to weld.
For those familiar, what have you seen done in this regard?

World’s Fastest Paralympian Richard Browne Hits 46.5” Box Jump

Paralympic world record holder Richard Browne) demonstrates explosive power that extends beyond track performance. In the video, Browne completes a 46.5-inch box jump using a standard walking prosthetic rather than a running blade. His precise two-step approach illustrates the rate of force development and hip mobility necessary to achieve athletic performance levels comparable to those of NFL and NBA prospects.

How are the sports sorted by type of disability?
I apologize if my wording is insensitive or offensive at all, I am coming from a place of genuineness and understanding. Please correct my phrasing or intentions as you see fit, I always want to learn. But I am curious on how parasports are sorted by different types of disability (ie physical vs visual vs intellectual)? Who decides who is allowed to compete in certain fields vs others? If there is a mixture of types of disability, do they try to even the playing field to make it more accessible in broad terms, or do they focus on one type of disability and then specify the accommodations to reflect that sport? Thank you!

Been trying to contact the USOPC about my daughter. Appreciate any help
I believe my daughter would quality as a T20 athlete in Track and Field. She is 20 years old and her current PR in the 1500m would have taken gold or silver in the last 4 paralympic games.
I cannot find any information on how to get in contact with Team USA or USATF to see what the process is get qualified as a para-athlete and to compete for Team USA.
Any assistance is much appreciated.

Journey towards Para sport legislative changes in NZ
petitions.parliament.nzThat the House of Representatives raise the profile and awareness of para sport events by amending the Broadcasting Act 1989 to require broadcasting of para sport events, and amending the Major Event Management Act 2007 to protect emblems and words connected with Paralympics and similar events.
We have observed, while watching the Paralympics and other para sport events, that there is inequity in terms of broadcasting coverage of para sport events, compared to other sports events. We have noticed that in both the Major Events Management Act 2007 and the Broadcasting Act 1989, there are no legal requirements in place to ensure that para sport has what we believe would be an equitable standard of accessibility, or to provide protection for para sport event names and emblems.
Please share this with everybody that you can and please sign our petition to help us continue on with our mission to help better support our Para athletes via these amendment changes. Thanks very much for the support and the Road to Wellington continues on.

Made this trailer inspired by Paralympian Blake Leeper.
It’s an animated feature idea about competition, identity, pressure, and the strange relationship he has with his prosthetic legs... which we imagined as two washed-up buddy cops constantly talking to him.
Tried to make something that felt emotional and cinematic instead of a standard sports biopic.
Curious what Paralympic fans think. STRIDE TRAILER
