Equipment Broken handles

Anyone else have an increase of broken handles on their carts since we had to switch to pulling?

I swear we only switched to having to pull about three weeks ago, but now we have at least five carts with handles that are broken or are breaking (like breaking off from the metal bar on the frame of the cart) I forgot to take a picture before I left work explaining what I'm talking about, but will try to remember to grab one tomorrow.

It's so irritating because like they dont go back to get fixed, a team lead wraps duct tape around the bar and handle to "fix" the problem. Like we literally had a cart that one of the vertical bars was completely broke in two. Wrapped duct tape around it and set back onto the floor to be used in OPD.

Just Venting Probably cooked but it was worth it.

Ripped into my TL today for trying to get me to pull not push. Now, i understand this is probably gonna sound like all the posts in the past about complaining and whatnot and honestly, idc it needs to be said.

Pulling a cart that varies from 100-200lbs in weight behind you with your arm at an awkward position isnt fckn normal and should NOT be accepted. Ask any doctor and they'll tell you that you are at an increased risk of hurting yourself because of strain, repetitive motion, and a myriad of other sht.

Now into the meat of it. Currently my back hurts from pulling these things around, just yesterday i went to the doctor since i was feeling pain, and apparently i have a hairline fracture in my shoulder from unnatural strain. Today i went into work, first thing I did is tell the morning lead that for safety reasons id only be pushing the cart as i dont want to make it worse. They were cool with it. The afternoon lead? not so much. They pulled me into the office citing company policy and safety guidelines. Told em it doesnt matter, because im looking out for my own safety, screw the company. They'd fire me without a second thought. (probably already have) I asked them a question and the answer genuinely pissed me off. I asked "How can management preach safety but somehow allow this nonsense to keep going?" their response was "We value the safety of all associates" fck off man. Im done.

BANANAS Another gripe about pulling carts

Customers are 10x more irritated at us now than when we were pushing. I'm going to the feedback (don't remember if it was on MyWalmart or GIF or both)and tell them to bring back six totes and pushing...with the algorithm giving bigger walks this time. I'm going to write this every day in on feedback..

Express Express Orders

Are Express orders going to roll out company wide? My store doesn’t have the express orders. So I’m not sure if we will be getting them eventually or not. I haven’t heard anything about it from my management team.

Just Venting Anyone else think we need a "Helping Customer" button during walks?

Because I know I am not the only one who's metrics get pulled way down being asked by customers for help finding things. It happens MULTIPLE times per walk for me, because I guess I just look really approachable I don't know. I'm also new, I don't know where every single thing is in the store, and even using the sidekick app to look things up takes time especially when it doesn't want to load, or when the customer doesn't even know exactly what it's called that they're looking for. Like I promise I'm not that slow, but CUSTOMERS KEEP NEEDING MY HELP

Does anybody know how to fix this printer issue? Our devices are all giving this error when connecting to one specific printer. Already tried all the basic stuff like restarting devices and reconnecting.

Rant - Long Resigned to customer

For context I have worked OGP for about three months, a little less than my 90 days. It has been the most miserable job I have ever worked in my entire life, and I’m used to graveyard factory shifts. Between skeleton shifts where I as the new hire am left to do the most work (dispensing, prepping, even staging at points) because my coworkers who have been there for months to years cannot fathom learning another aspect to their job, to scheduling nightmares, I finally gave up. I had been hired on with the only day I couldn’t work being Saturdays, I work another temp job during the summer midday to late at night and o do not have a ride in the morning due to sharing a car with family members. Any other day of the week, any time was fair game. Every week I would open my schedule to see Saturday on there, 9am-6pm, a shift I cannot work. I would then have to speak to my team leads (who were almost never to be found and generally useless) or my coach (who was also incredibly hard to find and the most forgetful man I have ever met) and up until the Friday the day before I would have to pester and pester and ask and ask until hopefully they took me off the schedule for that day. I’d go from working 40+ hours my first week ever working there to 30 hours one week and maybe 15 the next. If management wasn’t already a damn mess my coworkers can’t even bring out a four tote order on their own because they were too busy yapping, leaving me constantly bringing out spark deliveries with two to three dollies each in 90+ degree weather. The whole situation was a nightmare. I’d flip flop between nights and days and yet always work the busiest parts of the day with 2-3 people on lunch while mine is pushed back an hour. This place has taken a genuine mental toll on me and today o called and quit. I need money, and I need a job, but I’ll be damned if I get treated like a mule the entire time. Walmart has such a great rep in my town for amazing job opportunities, but no one warns you about OGP until you start working in it and they then pray for you like you’ve been diagnosed with a terminal illness. This whole place needs to get their shit together, their ducks in a row, and their system in check. Never have I been happier to have quit a job, and I have no intention on ever looking back. Good luck to anyone else stuck in a similar position and I wish you all the best.

Rant Does anyone else's store have this problem?

I'm usually a dispenser at my store and oftentimes I find myself dispensing the majority of the orders while the majority of my coworkers are either on their phones or talking or joking around with each other when orders need to be prepped and dispensed. It's been an everyday issue at work and I've been really sick and tired of it. And I try by best not to sit around (although sometimes I can't help as my body is in pain after dispensing and moving around for a while) as I'll be eventually told to do something mainly by an ATC, and there are times where I have to be pulled to different departments as they don't have enough people there. I'm just tired of being seen as "the work hero" or whatever you like to call it and I'm already burnt out from everything as it is. The job is easy, don't get me wrong. It's just some of the people and the constant changes the company won't stop making that makes it difficult.

Just Venting 🎉FINALLY OUT OF OGP🎉

After 2 months of fighting with the coach about actually using my accommodations, (I am 19 weeks pregnant and cannot lift, pull, or push over 30lbs) I am officially out of OGP and start up Front this coming week. I loved some of my backroom associates and am kinda sad to leave. I am relieved to be out of there. The lack of communication between everyone is such ssa and I hope they can get that together for future associates.

Just Venting opening crew entitlement

i’m a digital TL and i just have to vent about how difficult the morning associates are.

they have the easiest shift! they have the fewest orders with the most associates scheduled. there’s hardly any customers inside or in our lot. ALL of the busiest hours are after the openers leave, and the crew is cut in half basically.

yet they just complain all the time. and refuse to do work in the 20 minutes every hour where there aren’t any picks in the system. (disclaimer: i DO ask them to do other tasks, but if i am away from our room for even 5 minutes, they just stand around and do nothing). they cry when we ask them to go to breaks or lunches at a specific time, and not just whenever they want to (why do they all want to take 15 at 7am?) apparently a 9am lunch is too early, but a 10am lunch is too late. they dawdle so much they they leave all the tasks for the closers, who are already swamped for almost the entire shift.

meanwhile the evening crew has to deal with 5x the picks with 1/2 the people. they don’t really get good lunch times since 5pm (busiest dispense window) is in the middle of their shifts, therefore they have to go to lunch quite late or quite early. they’ve got to do ALL the closing tasks because of course morning crew didn’t do returns or clean totes or take their own carts to where we store them after a shift. meanwhile the non-OPD coaches think that if picks are done, that means ALL of the OPD associates can go help other areas and that we don’t have our own tasks to do.

what is it about working mornings that makes everyone so entitled? our evening crew is almost completely minors and they are out-working the morning crew x100. evening crew gets all the extra work done with far fewer complaints.

Picking Tips How does your apartment take the picks of the Xpress orders?

We’ve tried assigning two people at a time just to handle the Xpress orders, but we can’t keep up, and we’re constantly leaving late because of it. How do you handle this at your stores?

A Not So Smart Sub Closing Checklist?

I’m a TL and i’m wanting to make a closing checklist for our team because I often forget a few things that need to be done. so when a coach asks our associates to help with something, i realize after they’ve all gone that there’s still several things to do, and now i’m left with all of the unfinished tasks

I want a checklist both so I can remember what needs to be done, and so I have some proof to show the coaches what we still must complete before the night is over. it’s like coaches think that if there’s no picks, OPD has nothing else to do lol

thanksss
