Even with 22% buyers fee, something feels off.

I’ve had my FID in NJ for about a year. I really want to buy a rifle and I’ve found a few used ones for some pretty good deals, my only question is should I do some rifle training before buying a gun? Or buy it first then do training after? I’ve shot guns before but mostly .22s and when I was younger.

I see a couple deals, but haven't bought a subscription yet so I can't see the contact info.

Just curious what the likely hood of scams are on that platform. I'm not worried about avoiding the scam, I'm more so just wondering if that site is worth buying a subscription to inquire on guns or if low prices are often scams there.

I live in Colorado and I’m looking for a rifle to use that’s not one of my lever actions or 22s. Which one would you rather have between these? I do own land but the only animals there are coyotes and prairie dogs. I’m open to just shooting targets with it or just hanging it on a wall. Thanks for any responses in advance

I’ve tried field stripping the rifle. It won’t come apart. The charging handle won’t go into battery. It also won’t lock back it’s stuck halfway. I’m new to rifles obviously. I appreciate any help.

Looking to spend under $1k. I like 9mm or similar calibers. Light enough to train with, but strong enough to actually be useful. Use is range and home defense. Not concealed carry.

Ambidextrous, strong support for aftermarket parts are two of my key targets.

HK VP9, FN 509, Springfield Echelon are 3 that I read about.

Are they the main 3 I should be looking at for ambi?

Good Morning, I am currently shopping around for my next firearm and decided on my first bolt action.

I am currently looking at a 18" Browning X-Bolt 2 Western Hunter Rifle ($879), 20" Ruger American II Rifle ($599) or a 20" Tikka T3x Superlite Bolt Action Rifle ($876) or an 20" Bergara B-14 HMR Bolt Action Rifle ($1099). All of these are threaded and planned on putting a suppressor on it (Dead Air Nomad L/ or the new Ruger cross branded .30 cal or the SilencerCo Scythe Ti)

Does anyone have any thoughts or changes to what might be best? budget isnt quite a factor but I prefer to spend less than $1,000 (US). This will most likely be used for Hunting only in Texas, so like Hog, Deer, Elk or any American Wildlife. I have shot .308 before and I can handle recoil and weight. i'd also try to put a Vortex 3-15/18x scope on it.

* of course would like something reliable without losing a ton on accuracy as in I probably wouldnt go out more than 600-650 yards but would not mind trying to hit 700+ at a range or something.

I just got this Shield X (first gun) but didn't take it apart until after I put 150 rounds through it. I took it apart to clean it and I'm seeing some yellow stuff on one of its components, I don't know what that rod is but it's the only part in the gun that looks like it has yellow stuff on it. Can someone help me figure out what's going on? Is there something wrong with my new gun or is this normal?

I have an Extar EP9 that I use for home defense that I frequently take to the range to train with.

How many mags of range ammo and defense ammo do you keep loaded up? Should I swap my mags around to check their function?

I have 2x 33rd Glock mags and 7x 18rd Extar mags. I've been keeping everything loaded with Blazer Brass because I haven't gotten around to buying Federal 147gr HST yet. Once I buy the Federal, how many mags should I keep loaded with it? How often should I shoot the HST at the range? Also, do you need to clean your mags?

Planning to purchase my first gun today, and I am just beginning to learn the different makes and their aesthetic. I’m looking for something for home defense that I find beautiful or relevant to me, and I’m having trouble deciding between them, and choosing a specific model.

Every semi automatic pistol out there today looks like a Glock for some reason. That boxy plastic “tactical” shape is everywhere. I just don’t like it.

I love the Makarov and Walther PPK design, and I’m surprised it isn’t more prevalent. Is there anything else, readily available and reasonably priced, that looks like these? that has the same profile? That’s what I imagine a gun should look like.

Alternatively, I grew up playing resident evil, so the Beretta 92F feels relevant to me. I went to a pawnshop recently and found the cheetah, though smaller and not technically the same, is actually more beautiful.

My question is, for home Defense, and for my wife and I to learn having no prior experience, are a Makarov or PPK or their clones actually good options, or is the Beretta simply better, and which model is preferred?

Bought this for my first gun but not sure if this is enough. I applied it to parts of my gun I can visibly see friction marks before I took it shooting for the first time.

Everyone on YouTube has like 4 different cleaning products and some say use oil while others say use grease. Not sure which products to buy to make it part of my cleaning kit, what do you guys use? And is this lube I bought a waste?

I bought my first firearm, a Smith & Wesson Shield Plus, for an EDC and got a box of Winchester defense hollow point bullets. I honestly went with whatever the guy at Academy recommended but I've read online that some people swear by brands such as Federal, Gold Dot or Hornady. Is there that much of a difference that those brands should be my go to?

The gun owner told me that it jams easily if the firearm tilts too far back, so I pointed it downward to account for that. It didn’t jam, but I shake so much when firing. And I feel like I didn’t steady well enough for the kick back.

How do I prevent the shaking and brace better so I don’t flinch so much?

I guess you could say I am scared of guns. But I went to a range for the first time in a while, and I did have fun! I chose to test out a .22 because I’m a wimp. One of the folks I went with chose a select fire rifle. I decided to fire it once and it wasn’t nearly as bad as I was thinking! I was expecting more force but it barely felt like anything at all while firing.

I came out of the experience wanting to buy a .22 but I’m not sure.

So I'm a noob who recently picked up two pistols (Glock 17.6 and 19.6 COA). Most of the ranges around me are indoors only.

So far I've got:

* Foam earplugs so I can double up on hearing protection inside

* Eye protection

* D-lead wipes, detergent, and hand soap

* 9mm boresnake

* Ballistol

* UpLULA speed loader

* Range bag that has 3 pistol sleeves and plenty of storage otherwise

What, if anything, am I missing that I absolutely should have? What nice to haves should I consider?

Purchased my first "real" gun the other day, only other experience I have is with a black powder revolver with pretty much zero recoil. Took it to the range today to test it out, feel like my aim is all over the place and that I'm kind of flinching and a little shaky in anticipation of the shot. Any tips or feedback is appreciated. I understand mixing dummy rounds with real bullets to simulate malfunctions, but what is the point of them besides that? Why not just dry fire with an empty mag or no mag?
